It's Alberta. I don't know why we're so surprised. They're the Texas of Canada. The Flames for years have played in an arena shaped like a saddle and Edmonton has had a country singer doing the US anthems for them for years (no disrespect to Brett Kissel, who is a class guy). You can't expect much from these guys. Those days of the Oilers' goal song being Still The One by Orleans are long gone. The only reason they got McDavid and Draisaitl is because they stunk the joint out for so many years that they eventually couldn't possibly botch another high draft pick. The Canucks could at least argue that they were screwed out of a first overall pick a few times.
