- How to paint a vintage-inspired watercolor bouquet from a reference book
Do you like painting watercolor bouquets? How about when they’re inspired by vintage colors and themes? In this video, I use a reference photo from the Flower Color Theory book, one of my favorites! You can check it out here: amzn.to/3Y5jBl1
As you can see, I’ve used the photo for inspiration but use my intuition to create my own version! How will you create yours?

If you want to start out with just a few colors that you can then mix your own varieties, I suggest the following: Cadmium-Free Red, Alizarin Crimson, Windsor Yellow, Cadmium-Free Yellow, Cobalt Blue, and French Ultramarine. Mixing these together will get you many shades of warm and cool colors.

Thank you for breaking me out of my” muted color palette florals” and into bright loose florals! Turquoise and orange are two colors I use the least! Love them in this!
Thanks Cathy! Happy you enjoyed it. It wasn’t planned that way but my eyes were drawn to the depth that they bring ☺️
❤ I've been watching art videos for years but I've never seen anyone produce such an awesome video. From starting with flower centers to asking questions for the comment section. Just superb. I can't wait to watch more. (I like my flowers with vases😊)
Excellent Linda! I am really happy to hear that you enjoyed the video. Your feedback is super valuable to me 😀
