I wonder if the basketball was a prop-placeholder for what was supposed to be the sister's head, and they never got around to doing the special effects to make it work, and couldn't re-shoot.
4:56 Grandma ghost you want none of this, challenge me in the bball Court I'll break those knees. People would be calling you Hikiko, I swear on you Mary-San ain't faster then me
fun fact, the titles for Black Ghost and White Ghost translate to Black Little Girl and White Old Lady respectively. I think it's good they changed the names.
4:41 That works in so many levels, the edit, not the real scenes of the movie, that fails in just horror, just everything even, maybe good for the jokes XD.
In Ju-On: White Ghost, the homicidal man is the uncle of the little girl, not the brother. He kills his father (bludgeoned w/a baseball bat), his grandma (strangled w/a rope), his stepmother (stabbed w/a knife), his sister (who is the mother of the little girl; doused w/gasoline and set alight), and finally his niece (decapitates her by sawing off her head).
I just wish I wasn't so scared of Kayako I can't watch even silent images of her crawling towards the camera with an analyzing voice over to make it friendly without hiding behind pillows.
I always thought ju-on white ghost with the basketball was a reference to Tales of Terror from Tokyo and All Over Japan with the two kids playing basketball after school hours alone in the gym which came out several years before white ghost
my favorite favorite horror was alien franchise, but unlike ju-on frenchise only alien (1979), aliens and aliens vs predator (2004) are good, ju-on managed to outlive any frenchise much like byzantium managed its collapse much longer then other empires had its entire life spam
Am I the only one who not only thought The Final Curse was better than Beginning of the End, but thought it was one of the best in the series. I love The Final Curse.
Japanophile I agree with you. Ju-on had its good, bad and few wth moments over the years in series. I started out with the english films at first mainly because I was not yet 18 back in first american film until grudge 3. Even then yeah I did notice the western series starting to become stale because lot of the essence of the earlier films not there anymore in grudge 3. So, what I did afterwards was follow Ju-On back to its roots since a young adult now then. What I found doing so was an interesting past how the series over the years even without Shimazu or Kayako's actress from Takako. LOL had a I was a time I was afraid of her out of character before commentary behind scenes in grudge 2 shitty as you may call film. That was its american director's fault not Shimazu's. His intention in american films was introduce his series to a western audience-good or bad it may turn out at first. Hollywood's view on the other hand wanted to follow on the Ring's success with the American remake to Ju-on. Say what you will on matter; it had good run early on, but yes ended up a bad move to series ultimately disappointed me after grudge 3. Ergo I had enough of western series after 3 and finally followed the original series back to its roots. When I did, I made a gutsy move into true Japanese horror out of my western comfort zone. My early intention why was see if original series scarier than western I started with. Found that and more with ongoing series with reboot from Ju-ON 3 & the End. One thing i'd like to point out in new films is Interesting to see Toshio the main ghost this time up to the climax instead of Kayako at that point. Although I don't think that does her justice again like earlier films. (Oh, and you forgot to mention Sadako vs. Kayako another honorable mention in series. WTH ending after all. SPOILER!:) White & Black Ghost goes back to ju-on's low-budget roots but is more cliche in the process. Still a lot better than grudge 3 in same year. And the game let's just say another honorable mention to the series. Far as the future now for the series, I'd think it's not over for ju-on as a whole even with the original Saeki house gone now in reboot films. Like the End's protoganist said near her end: the curse is not stopped with demolished the original house. It will just resurrect each time in a new house. That said, no I don't think this curse is finished after the End. That being said, it's interesting you mentioned an american reboot apparently in works. If yes, Please something like Grudge 1 again in my day. Minus fewer whitties this time so they don't floop a western reboot like original american series. Better than repeat a past western cinemas already tried many MANY times trying to repeat a success especially when they happened to be Asian horror like this case. You agree?
Michael Davis honestly another reboot is not something Ju-on needs. If it ever gets out of production hell it's probably going to be closer to The Grudge 3 without the involvement of Shimizu.
Good point..Yeah Grudge 3 was disappointing I'd rather not in another reboot. So...yeah think series is fine as it is on second thought don't u think? Just like to point out goods and bad in series is all with few wth's in between you pointed out i follow you on. Thanks anyway repyling.. So what about you? What motivated to create your channel?
Hey you might know it already but for white ghost the granny was re-use in an other movie, or stack of mini clips that is: "tales of terror from tokyo" where a person play basketball with his friends, they go, he decide to stay, and later she appears... maybe you can light me on where it came from ?
Unfortunately not at the moment, the copyright is preventing me from downloading it and putting it elsewhere. While I could appeal the copyright, I'd risk getting a second strike against the channel after the first from my Kamen Rider Zi-O video. So it will be a while before I can put up a mirror of that video on a different site.
Ju-On: The Curse 1/2 and Ju-On: The Grudge 1/2 are the only good movies in the series. And there is also the Netflix series, it's pretty good and different. But the rest is shit.
I wanted to watch "Ju-On: The Bad" video, but it is blocked in the U.S. Any idea what country it isn't blocked in, so I can use a proxy server to watch it?
My Ranking: (Worst to Best) 12.Sadako vs Kayako 11.Ju-On: White Ghost 10.The Grudge 3 9.The Grudge 8.Ju-On: Black Ghost 7.Ju-On: The Final 6.The Grudge 2 5.Ju-On: The Beginning of the End 4.Ju-On: The Curse 2 3.Ju-On: The Grudge 2.Ju-On: The Curse 1.Ju-On: The Grudge 2

"couldn't re-shoot" heh. somehow that sounds hilarious considering she's holding a ball.
That would have to be a big ass head
A tip : watch movies at flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Trey Bryant Yup, I have been using Flixzone for since november myself :)

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one wondering why the ghost was always carrying that basketball with her.

I enjoyed this little series a lot. I've only seen the good of this series and I'm glad I now don't have to see the bad.

I completely agree with you, I always look away and when I accidentally take a peak, especially at scarier moments, my fight or flight activates lol

YESSSSSS THIS THEORY
One of the most scary j-horror series ever made
I definitely enjoyed "Beginning of the End" the most out the ones you covered here. I love the final scene.
Beginning of the End was definitely a pleasant surprise for me. Much better than Black/White Ghosts.
Absorbed twin haunts the sister? Did Ju-On predicted Malignant?
Dont forget that someone in ju on 4 friggin stabbed kayoko.
That poor cat. Geeze the drowning from the original movie is a mercy compared to what this one went through.
Not even gonna lie kayako scared the fuck out of me as a kid. That bed scene fucked me up. Like no where felt safe.
White Ghost is good! How could you not love basketball ghost?!
They have nothing more to say. They said it all in the original Juon.
Japan reintroduce the black ghost and white ghost in the new Ju On Origins at netflix
5:35 Might have been intended for comedic reason because that "older brother" is a famous comedian
Wonder about your opinion on the recent Netflix series, I thought it creepy in many ways.
my favorite favorite horror was alien franchise, but unlike ju-on frenchise only alien (1979), aliens and aliens vs predator (2004) are good, ju-on managed to outlive any frenchise much like byzantium managed its collapse much longer then other empires had its entire life spam
I like Alien 3 as well personally

4:21 you forgot to mention mihiro the jpron star.
I cannot find 4 with English subtitles it is the only one I have not seen
What about the Ju-On vs Ringu movie?
The Beginning of the End and The Final Curse are such a mess of a movie. Disgusting.
great vids! deserves more views
You forgot Sadako vs Kayako

Had to watch the bad video with a proxy server 🤣 but I did it cause I love this series I would love if you did some sion sono stuff
Ju-On The Grudge and 2 were really good all of them are good but the 2002 and 2003 is really good but the second one is better.
Why the thumbnail remind me of baby bird that need to feed XD
Part 2 got copyrighted, is there anywhere else to watch it?

@@ZettaiJapan Damn copyright
@@ZettaiJapan any progress on it?
Wonder if he’ll do one on the 2020 The Grudge remake.
At least the trailers make it look decent. I don't know if it meeds Ju On/The Grudge as a brand to make it sell, it seems fine on its own
And what he will think of ju-on: origins on Netflix too
I’ve seen them all since I watched the original Ju On back in 2004 waiting for The grudge to be released, Even the bad ones I feel fond of them 😍😍😍

I agree
Ai Kago
Beginning of the End and Final Curse never had Kayako and Toshio. It was always Toshio and Kayako.
Those characters were most certainly present in those remake movies.. I want some of that stuff you're smoking
I wanted to watch "Ju-On: The Bad" video, but it is blocked in the U.S.
Any idea what country it isn't blocked in, so I can use a proxy server to watch it?
My Favorites were Ju-On The Grudge and Ju-On The Grudge 2.
Those are technically sequels ;) What about the originals, Ju-On The Curse 1 & 2 made for tv?
I own black ghost and white ghost on one disc but they are reversed black ghost comes 2nd
My Ranking: (Worst to Best)

Uh.. You put "Ju-on the Grudge" twice, which one is meant to be Ju-on Grudge 1 and which is number 2?.
@@cookiesontoast9981 "Ju On The Curse" and "Ju On The Grudge" are two different movies..
The audio fluctuations and cringey cut aways are unnecessary

No jokes on Logan paul
