I like to learn about the different building techniques/ codes even within Canada the difference from province to province is nuts. I am always amazed to see shows filmed in the southern US or south and central America and their waterline going to the house is only a few feet deep.
May that bad contractor step on lego every day - even when there's no kids or toys around. I like to make my curses fairly harmless but with maximum annoyance.
OH MY GOD. Those poor people. As if their project shouldn't take priority. I'd love to see a follow up to the worst cases, where the Holmes team gets the runaway contractor strapped to a chair, and has to give a point by point explanation for his work, and a detailed account of where every penny went.
Mike Holmes I love your work and God bless you for what you do. Do you ever come or consider coming to south Mississippi? I live on the Mississippi gulf coast, specifically, Ocean Springs, Mississippi in a community known as Fountainbleau. It would be great to meet you.
I never believed in divining rods... such a bunch of crap. UNTIL I was working for a public works department, and my seventy year old foreman showed me. We had a blocked sewer line (8 inch pipe). He pulled out the divining rods and checked the area. Those simple copper rods said the pipe took off at a weird angle from a manhole. AND they were RIGHT. If I had decided where to dig... we would have been off by 10 feet. Old tech... but worth it.
Mike always Enjoy the Projects and Antics. The crawl space has a Floor, my thoughts Grab a Creeper and Valla something to Lay on and roll around verses Crawling, Laterz Leland
@@byzantinerts6660, try telling that to the deep well that has been in operation for over 25 years! The main aquifer was found using dowsing rods! It may sound old fashioned but it does work and I don't care about the nay-sayer's opinions!
Mike, I wish you were in the U.S.. I need help. I bought a house 2 years ago. I'm a first time homeowner at 54 years of age. I bought without conditions like an inspection. Previous owners only took cash offers not through a bank. I didn't know any better. Now I'm having issues. Yard is flooded, septic tank is too small and storm water fills it up causing sewage to sweep out. While yard smells like septic. No insulation in walls or attic. Very narrow crawl space so I or contractors can't get in. Floor joists gave away in bedroom causing dresser to tip over. No joist hangers and rusty nails. Electric plugs have no ground. Just 2 prongs. Holes in Soffit where birds and cats get in. The toilet is sinking from the soft floors. Sill plates and studs in the garage are rotting from all the flooding in the yard. Insulation in the garage has asbestos. The ceiling in the garage is sagging in the middle. Paint on the outside of the house is just primer. Windows are not insulated. Front door seals leak air. No HVAC system. Just ventless propane heaters on the wall. I have a lot more going on with the house. It's gonna cost me thousands of dollars I didn't count on when buying the house. I need help and don't know who to turn to. I bought a lemon house because it was what I could afford. Nice neighborhood and I love my back yard when it's not flooded. My trees are dying because of the flooding. Please, if you know someone in the U.S. that does what you do I really need their help. Please, I'm begging you.
What I would loved to have seen happen to that contractor is not allowed to be mentioned by the RUclips gestapo! Let's just say he and his bandits would be VERY unhappy! It takes individuals with the heart of a demon to do what they did to that family!
165 year old house assume there is no foundation left, plumbing is bad, no venting in the house, sewer line was probably clay and disintegrated, electrical is knob and tube junctions buried in the walls, windows are bad, roof is gone.
Just a suggestion... can you please stop zooming in on the original footage before posting. I like to see the full screen and have the option to zoom in if I want to
Regardless of whether divining rods are sometimes useful, which is debatable, it's a bad look for Holmes. Not a biggie in the whole scope of things and few noticed let alone cared, since Holmes has remained well respected and popular after this aired around 2009 or so. Still not something I expected in a Holmes episode.
"Divining rods" or "witching rods" are some of the "old ways", or the like, and have been in use forever-a grandfather of mine could do it, and I was told it worked for him very well. Whether you believe in it or not, I think the element adds another layer of interest to the story at hand because it is unexpected. That, and it is one more way to do a job-one "professional" to another, that is the appeal for some DIY types-it merely illustrates yet another way to get the job done.
People should be ashamed so do not the poor lady this video makes me sad to lose a child that’s not good display deserves happiness enclosure thank God she’s got you contact if you’re not to give me on chip anybody that’s sick
Precious! Such compassion! This was a wonderful mission to help a family heal. wow! Great job. Thanks for letting us tag along.
I cried again when I had to see this episode all over again. For Annie 🌹✝🙏😇🧸
I never even heard of a weeping system before I began watching this series. I really appreciate the education!

I cry every time I watch this one! Takes a real piece of dirt to do this to a family with a sick child.

Compared to what was done to this family by other people. There are not enough words to describe what was done for this family by Mike and his crew❤
Heart tugs overwhelming.
This is the most anger I’ve ever seen Mike show, but it was all justifiable anger.
I really enjoyed this episode 😊👍🇨🇦👏👏👏

they were used for a long time for a reason, i still don't know why they work though
Mike, if it's NOT dirty, It ISN'T a TRUCK.. It's an EGO on wheels!
Trucks should be nice and clean and dint free And if gets dirty take it to the car wash
@@garyholt369 As I said...🙄 I'm from the generation Trucks were Working vehicles...
Why didn't you put a top plate on that Mini-wall in the Crawl Space? Only a single Top plate still makes it look somewhat fragile🤔

Does he travel around the country because how does he deal with different states and their codes/laws
@18:39: Was that an inspector using witching rods?!?! Hahaha ha! 😆 Oh, come on, Mike. What next? Qi, feng shui, and burning sage?
It actually works - especially when you then dig and actually find a pipe on the spot.
I didn't believe it either until I actually held the rods and they crossed in my hands
@@TonyM1961 Dowsing rods are total bunk. You may as well use an Ouija board and ask the ghosts where the water is.

People who do things like that, should be fined and locked up.
Lucky there are people like Mike who will make it right

Jack up the house, build a basement, set house down higher to help grading problems.

THIS HAPPENS SO MANY TIMES
should find the contractor and inspector and make them famous

once the house is finished they should sell it to another family that needs it
