I’m so tired of seeing Jacqueline in every episode. She needs to focus on her own love life. She’s living through Nate’s dates. I agree with you, she low key wants him.
I don’t think it’s low key. But his closest relative, his daughter seems to be a minor. It looks like Nate chose Jackie as the next of kin to debrief after the dates.
Nate and Jackie relationship is highly inappropriate. I bet she’s not in a relationship the way she’s UNDER him in the confessional scene (look at their sitting arrangements), way too close to comfort. Jackie is in love with Nate but Nate only love himself. He brings up the prayer thing then eliminate the lady for being “holy”. He’s extremely picky.
You’ve educated me auntie. Millennial here. My dad is a boomer and he dislikes blond wigs and weaves on Black women. I had no idea its roots stemmed from burlesque and so forth.
I appreciate everyone on the show for putting themselves out there and being vulnerable. It takes a lot of courage. The coach has good insight and gives good advice that encourages the daters to be reflective. Nate and Jackie need to go on and get together. Love Suzanne, she's hilarious, has great energy. I agree she look a good 70 something. Anise looks older too. Pam is funny, and a bit feral.
Yes, I think Anise’s dress was very inappropriate; she might be sending the wrong message. She has a GREAT body and evidently takes good care of herself - very disciplined!
I don’t believe that Nate wants to be in a serious relationship with anyone. Although Jackie probably will be attached to him for the rest of their life because of their daughter, he appears to want her to be actively involved in his life & be more than a co-parent. If that’s not the case, I don’t understand why he chose her to advise & support him throughout his dating journey. Essentially, I think he knows that his physical disabilities & OCD & possibly other psychological issue(s) that may be related to his military service could limit his capacity to engage in social, physical, sexual, & other activities that his ideal woman may want to participate in. He could be keeping her close because he feels comfortable with her being his lifelong companion, best friend, nurse, or whatever he wants to help him cope with the problems that stem from his vulnerabilities.
She had me rolling! That first date was letting her know that she was not focused on him at all, LOL. I think it was a lot of nervous energy-bless her heart!
Lori is one of the many who was told by fam/friends that guys are intimidated by her, only to help make her feel better after being rejected. And she believed them because it makes her feel better. lol ❤
Nate disqualifying Anise was surprising to me. Anise looks younger than he does and is clearly in better physical shape than he is. I think if she hadn’t told him her age he would have assumed she was around his age.
Lori appears to be there for free promotion and not interested in anything that will change her brand. Super performative and unfortunate production didn’t pick up on her. I hope she evolves based on her children’s insightful feedback.
Right the minute she wasn't willing to do what the dating coach recommended by removing her glasses for dates I thought oh she's just there to promote her "brand"
You always bring me back to you. I'm so glad that you are reviewing something that I'm watching. GREAT JOB< AS USUAL. I look forward to parts 4&5, etc. Thank you, again...😃
So glad you’re reviewing this one! I loved this series!! Just to add to the last part you shared about single motherhood and the control/toughness. I don’t agree that the women are necessarily controlling before single motherhood but even if that is true I can say once you are a single mother it is very hard to break free of some of those behaviors. You have to be controlling out of necessity since everything is on you to do and a child is depending on you. You’re even placed in the position of being their protector which leads to a lot of hyper vigilance or being overly masculine to avoid being taken advantage of. I wish it could all be accomplished while being soft but if you are truly a single mom (I’m talking no father around, not one who shares custody or co-parents.) I don’t think it’s possible.
I agree with you. As a result of raising my son by myself, I have to work overtime to relax and embrace being soft. God knows I’m working on it. My 26yr old reminds me that I have to learn to let him takeover but it’s a challenge when you’ve had to be the Mom/Dad, therapist, friend, provider and cheerleader for decades.
I’m so glad you watched all the way to the end. I know a lot of people didn’t but I do wanna add that protectiveness over your children when you’re a single mother is absolutely required, but we should never seek to control anyone not even our children and the only point I wanted to make was that when we were controlling in nature, it bleeds over into other relationships such as if we’re a manager on a job or if we’re in a relationship with a man Even in our friendships, but if you were just protective over your children, odds are that won’t bleed over into other relationships because you see something that uniquely with your children controlling people to wanna control everyone and everything that is a part that I would say is not good
wow I really enjoyed listening to your take on the people in this show. You are so right on many points. I'm a baby boomer (i think 1963?) but i'm fortunate that i still have my husband. You got Nate & Jacky down to a tea, why the expert did not dive into this set up a bit more baffled me. looking forward to your thoughts in the next recap.
It surprises me that so many women are still willing to go on shows like this and hope to find something meaningful. The reality is that men outnumber women in our society. A high-quality man does not need to go on any show to meet and marry a good woman. They are plentiful. Most men who go on these types of shows aren't looking to find their true love. Sadly, so many women don't realize that.
I’m half way through episode 4 but I’m enjoying the show so far. Anise is over selling herself. Nate and Jackie on my nerves lol. I think they are still smashing and only doing the show for clout🤷🏽♀️. Nate is insecure and projects his imperfections onto the women that he meets. He would have been fine with Anise until she started talking about being active, then all of a sudden she was too old for him. Smh. He ain’t trying to meet nobody for real. But imma keep watching! lol. Love your reviews and perspective ❤
S/N Nate has a bad back & knees. Its giving can’t fix or lift nothing around the house probably can’t F either considering all the infidelity he has experienced.
I just realized: Everybody in the show has a close relative who they talk to about the dates and such. Nate has actually chosen Jacqueline to be his debriefer. But he has a weird way of non-talking to her about the dates.
My husband and I both noticed how Anise had a different approach to the White man than to the two black men she went on the date with previously. She was giving HR Exec with the two Black men, and slightly pick me with the white man. She also didn't lead with her education to the white man. Any thoughts in this?
I am so happy you are reviewing this show. I thought Jackie was a big problem from first sight. NO WOMAN WANTS YOUR EX AS YOUR BEST FRIEND. No one wants you telling your ex what goes on in their relationship. Jackie sits tooooo close for me. She needs to move on and find someone of her own and stop living through him.
I binged watched this show yesterday, because of you and baby, in the later episodes Anise dates this bald headed man and it’s nothing but fireworks 🔥 between them. The man is fine.
@@trolltrolling9022, the same impression I got from him, I saw pure sexual energy between them, when he said "this will be fun" I said oh no he there for a good time with her don't see long term relationship with them all I see is a lot of sexual attraction
🗣️🗣️🗣️thank you! I need women to stop with the men are intimidated by me narrative, they not! They just not interested in dating you for different reasons. Most men don't care about a women's accomplishments, they care about how the woman makes them feel and how they are treated.
I disagree about Jackie wanting Nate. She’s had him (clearly lol) but knows that they are better as friends. Nate’s OCD and personality is low key insufferable. They way Jackie interacts with him and asks questions about his dates has nothing to do with comparing herself and more so because she KNOWS him. I think we’re so used to this idea that men and women can’t be friends see more than what’s actually there. Jackie is probably his only friend because she knows him better than anyone. Some ppl, even if they look like they’re compatible from the outside looking in, are better as friends. Jackie do not want that man lol
She had him but he admitted he was for the streets and "having fun". He never claimed her and even after the fact made it clear that he stuck around for his daughter. I think she wants him lol It's subtle but it's in the way she looks at him and the way she asks and acts when he talks about his dates. I doubt she knows him better than the only woman he ever loved and actually married, stayed married to for 16 years, and had another (wanted) kid with. I just want to know if they were still friends during his marriage or if she re-emerged post divorce.
I got the same problem like Lori....i'm not stubborn tho... i want to change.. i need some dating coaching to learn how to date properly... i'm signing up for you, Ms Deborah
I watched 7 episodes so far. I'm enjoying the show. Nate is getting on my nerves. He's too OCD for me. As for Jackie, she is still in love with him. I agree that he is too picky.
You right about when Nate will choose Jackie 😂 and she really gonna feel like she won 😂 He doesn’t want to do nothing but stay at home.. 😂 I had the same thoughts about Pam 😂 she is a character Lori is hard to watch this whole show.
I think Jackie always wanted Nate from the beginning when she first saw him. The first thing she said is I wanna have a baby and then she saw a star a shooting star and she’s been hanging in there for crumbs It seems like after all these years.
I continued to watch and I don't want to go faster than you. I liked Bill who had a date with Anise. He didn't want to be an experiment and that's what i think happened to Michelle when she asked for a light skinned black man she was trying to experiment because every time i looked at her she didn't strike me as a person who dates black. Felton for Lori gave me Lamar vibes from ready to love. Nate catfishing Latisse on Prayer I wasn't impressed and he seems he is going to be one of the biggest snake and why can't you just say you are a disabled Vet.
Lord, George was terrible. Nate really needs to get rid of Jaqi. She is terrible too. But then i realized they belong together...He lets her do what she wants. Nate and Anise was not a good idea either, like why?!? And now we find out the reason why Anise does not talk about her degree asap. She is someone who flexes, and it may have turned off some men. Suzanne still holding on to that list, but her date was trying to accommodate to her at least. Anyway what i really love about this show is hearing these people's backstory, and how they will tackle dating now. It's really refreshing. Pam is an extreme example of that. I mean she just got acces to internet...that is sad.
i get a weird vibe off anise' daughter...she always seems angry/frustrated with her mom? also her advice was so bad, "ask him out!" no. he didn't text back.
Nate might've had some infidelity on his part. He seems like he might be a player going from woman to woman aimlessly . I wonder what qualities he saw in his ex wife that made him commit 🤔 Also, I want to know which millionaire mogul Anise dated. Pam acts like a crazy drunk. I thought the same thing about Lori's candles. She probably has that male fragrance on her too.

I didn’t know about the show until I saw your review yesterday. I binge watched all episodes.
Oh wow, you passed me. I’m only on episode two and three. I wanna watch the other ones tomorrow.
I did too.
same... it seems like the episodes are real short tho compared to other shows
I’m so tired of seeing Jacqueline in every episode. She needs to focus on her own love life. She’s living through Nate’s dates. I agree with you, she low key wants him.
If Nate told his dates about Jacqueline, and how much she’s involved in his life, they would run. I think she will sabotage his relationships.
@ Absolutely!

Yesss!! I kept thinking she looked so familiar lol
She also looks like Queen Latifah
Anise looks like Usher Raymond’s ex Tamika Foster.
She does; she’s beautiful!
Even Serena Williams
Lori is pretty behind those glasses! I asked my husband what he thought of her style and he said he doesn’t like those bulky glasses😂
