90 ൽ എത്തിയ ഞാൻ ഇന്നും ഇവിടിരുന്നു കാണുമ്പോൾ ആരെയൊക്കെയോ ഓർത്ത് സങ്കടവും വരുന്നു. നല്ല നാളുകളുടെ ഓർമ്മകൾ 👍

തൊണ്ണൂറുകളിൽ നമ്മൾ പ്രവാസികളുടെ ആശ്രയമായിരുന്ന ഓറഞ്ച് ടാക്സിയും. വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചകളിലെ സംഗമസ്ഥലമായ നാഷണൽ ഏരിയയും HBK ബിൽഡിങ്ങും. കോർണിഷിന്റെ ഒരു മൂലയിൽ ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് തലയുയർത്തി നിൽക്കുന്ന sheraton hotel.. ഖത്തറിലെ തിരക്കില്ലാത്ത റോഡുകളും.. ഏതൊരു പ്രവാസിയെയും ആ പഴയ ഓർമ്മകളിലേക്ക് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകും.

400 കൊല്ലം ഇവിടുന്ന് കൊള്ളയടിച്ചു ഊമ്പിച്ചു ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാർ കൊണ്ടു പോയത് അവരുടെ നാടിനെ ഉദ്ധരിക്കാനും അഭിവൃദ്ധിയിലേക്ക് നയിക്കാനുമാണ്. അല്ലാതെ ഇന്ത്യയെ കൊണപ്പെടുത്താൻ വേണ്ടി ആയിരുന്നില്ല. ഇവിടുന്നു അസംസ്‌കൃത വസ്തുക്കൾ ബ്രിട്ടനിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾ ആക്കി ലോകം മുഴുവൻ വിറ്റഴിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ ബ്രിട്ടൻ സാമ്പത്തിക ശക്തി ആയി. ആ സമ്പത്തിൽ ഞെളിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു വളി വിടുന്ന ബ്രിട്ടന്റെ ശൈലിയിൽ പ്രതികരിക്കാതെ സഹോദരാ.... പോരായ്മകൾ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും നമ്മുടെ ഭാരതം ലോകത്തെ അഞ്ചാമത്തെ സാമ്പത്തിക ശക്തി ആണ് ഇപ്പോൾ. ബഹുമാനിച്ചില്ല എങ്കിലും അപമാനിക്കാതിരിക്കൂ. 🙏
