There's actually a single ultrawide selfie cam that crops to regular wide shots.
The second camera is an infrared module + IR flood illuminator for 3D face unlock, that's why the extra space is there.

There is another feature of the pillbox cut out, it's some 3D stuff so you can use your hand to take a screenshot and scroll and if it had GMS, to even use your hand to pause a video. But the most useful part of it is that the content follows your face so the phone rotates based on how you are looking at it and not the accelerometer.

As a foreigner living in China I've used Huawei for years and will keep using it for many years to come as even the Google Play Store can be downloaded as an apk and works great. Still get all the games and apps I need on an awesome reasonably priced phone.

This phone is for techies who live on the edge. All the methods of getting Google services only last a couple of weeks, before getting blocked. Getting blocked doesn't affect you after you've done it tho.
I'd buy if it if I can afford it because I am sure there isn't a software problem which I can't get past.

HUAWEI is awesome. I'm from China. I change my phone every year before I use Huawei. I had Huawei mate9 which I bought when they came out. And I'm still using it in US. And My husband has Huawei Mate20pro which I bought for him when it came out in China. Both have Google which is awesome! I'm so sad that they can use Google anymore and I love their high quality camera and fast charge features.

I still have the Mate 10 Pro and holds up really well after 3 years. My favorite phone so far. But I will not upgrade to another Huawei, because I use Google services on a daily basis. It's a pity :(

I have a Huawei (Mate 10 Pro) and live in Germany, I personally never noticed any disetvantages of having it. It works great, all Apps function and all that.
Ofcourse you dont notice any disadvantage on mate 10 because ban on huawei occured much much later and all phones produced before are not affected. Mate 30 pro and newer phones dont have google services.

Honestly, even iPhone 13 hasn't catch up yet with that phone capacities. Control all your TV, take snapshots and play music without touching the phone, tap the both sides to increase/decrease volume, incredible picture quality (only Video Apple does better than it), though don't forget dual view video recording, 3D face unlock plush fingerprint sensor, incredible zoom. Honestly you won't miss GMS, I have iPhone but I love this phone more, in fact I use it for pictures and special events only. Event S22 hasn't catch up with the spec yet
My Mate 20 pro is still in fantastic condition after 2 years with the Huawei Watch that came with it. Mate 20 Pro is still the best phone ever. Sick piece of Tech, super long battery life amd super fast battery charge.

I own a P30 Pro for a year now, and I’m impressed with the technology, the build quality and (the o my god) cameras. I was convinced that Huawei will run the mobile phone game for years, until the US government said no. It’s very sad to see this kind of situations when Marques is holding all those tears. @TheShnag The market share is irrelevant. Huawei's market competitors are Samsung, Google etc. It was eating their marketshare. Apple's share is independent since the user crossover between the interfaces has stagnated. Technically, Apple has no market rival especially when ecosystem is concerned.

I swapped my s21+ for a mate 40pro and never was i happier using the 1st one. I got all i need from buit quality to camera even in gaming (virtual L&R triggers for FPS games). But i must. Admit that the app store has a long way to go.

I have a huawei mate 20 pro and it's still capable of doing practically everything that the new phones do. Although i am currently using google services pretty heavily, as far as i have a decent maps app, and a whole ecosystem in my phone that work smoothly with other devices like my smart tv etc i think im all good. Im still excited to get my next huawei device/s

the huawai MATE phones are absolutley incredible. My mate 9 was flawless 4 years later. So smooth and the battery was still really good. Usually with samsung phones after 4 years then turn into a stuttering mess or just breaks.
I owned a galaxy S5 before, Samsung literally forcibly made me install the updates and broke the phone lmao.
Hisense just released a pretty crazy short throw laser projector + screen combo that they're calling a 'TV'. They claim that the contrast ratio of this PROJECTOR can outperform most OLED and QLED TV's. This might be something for an episode of dope tech in the future. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

I don't think it's possible to outperform OLED because the contrast ratio for OLEDS are near infinity...
It's physically impossible if you're not in a pitch black room.

I think Marques is the only person who when showing youtube shows *other* people's videos instead of his own. I really love the way his videos explain the newest tech and his thoughts. Great job

Ik you might not see this but can you make a video explaining if its worth getting your phone repaired or just getting a new one i personally would find ut interesting and im sure quite a few people asked them self the same question??
