Can I just say how much I appreciate this channel?
After the internet took off with the gaming youtube channel idea, there have been plenty of carbon copies. Finding a well written, well edited, consistent uploading, informative, and constructive channel that doesn't have sucky humor is really rare. It's a shame that channels like this that have a team of people diligently aren't as popular as ones that came out a few years before.

am enjoying the game - here's my biggest hangup with the game -- there's one button for dodge/transform/special attack -- really hard to wrap my brain around having a button that does both an attack and evade....

Tap the dodge button to dodge, hold the dodge button to Transform.
It sounds a bit confusing on paper, but once you play it you'll understand how fluid it is.
Dunno what your problems with MGR were though. Parry was easy as hell to understand.
FolstrimHori The parry and the attack in MGR are on the same button. The detection on it is terrible. I tried to dodge things, ended up attacking, stuck in the attack animation, I get a game over and extremely frustrated. It wasn't good design.
+FolstrimHori In MGR, you can basically just carry on tapping forward and X/Square/Whatever it is on keyboard over and over inorder to battle against many of the enemies (Raiden will do quick regular sword attacks, until an enemy attacks, inwhich case, he blocks and then carries on attacking). They should have had parry as circle/B. Also, there should have been a simple way to dodge attacks (such as a dedicated dodge button).
It's still a good game regardless.

As transformers was a massive part of my childhood, especially the cartoons, i was filled with nostalgia from this game.
do with they would use the original models and voices again.
I will never ever stop enjoying the thumbnails that you choose for the segment, the "wait wait" base body gesture always gets me.
Love this game. I'm an 80's kid and this game hit the nostalgia right on the spot. The sound effects are awesome.I can listen to the transformation all day long. Lame part is fighting same bosses more than once.

Go to the app store and type game releases and there is this app that shows all games that came out and games that will come soon it gets updated alot and its free unless you want to pay to temove the adds but its a good app i like it you should try it

Bought it, played it and I have to agree. If you’re into non-stop hand to hand combat, combos and arena battles, and love G1 Transformers, great game. If not, it gets repetitive and boring very quickly despite the nostalgic feel. The few driving and exploration sections feel empty and clunky.
High Moon Studios’ Cybertron games were much more to my liking. It’s a crying shame that they never got to complete their story (No, Rise of the Dark Spark doesn’t count).

@Kristopher Prime The games ended where they did because Activision under Bobby Kotick I would say. Fall of Cybertron on its own feels like the Empire Strikes Back without a conclusion IMHO.
Possibly there were books later that tried to make a unified continuity happen out of completely disjointed timelines. I wouldn't know TBH. What I do know is that there was no third *game* since High Moon was disbanded and its remaining members sent to work on Call of Duty games. Money good. Creativity bad.

One of the BEST Transformer games I have ever played! This game was such a pleasure to play! I grew up in the 80's and for me, this game was so freakin awesome!

Lol the combat is repetitive? Sure, it can be if you spam the same move like you accuse the ai of doing. The combat is as exciting and as varied as you make it. You can vehicle rush into a combo then hit them with your blaster to set up another combo into a vehicle combo etc. youtube people playing the challenge missions and you can see how great the combat system is.
The combat in this game is amazing and flows really well. The types of weapons and the upgrades you put on them also affect the combat/combo system. The main story was alright, but my main love comes in the form of the extra missions. Hoooo boy one autobot taking on all 6 constructicons + devestator? Vs starscream and blitzwing? Vs thunderctacker, skywarp and starscream? Vs the insecticons? Vs menasor and devastator? Yes please, especially on magnus difficulty. I would love to hear this casul complain about that.
There's no point in saying a game's repetitive, because think about it, EVERY GAME IS REPETITIVE.
Finally! Though o just recently started, you've really dig into it. Best game to wear the name!

I totally argee with you man. It seems to me that the promblem is less to do with the combo system and more to do with mfrs lack of imagination. There are reversals, parries, and counters (for a few)that you are going to have to master a some point. For example, if you use the same combos on even on as low a level as warrior(which is normal if you didn't know) you will get your ass handed to you in some of the later levels.
Also, there are some that probably don't like the combat because it doesn't just hold your hand through the entire game, allowing you to pull off insanely illustrious, wtf combinations by just pressing the same damn botton.
ConRADITZ Understand it is a hack and slash and made by platinum. If anyone thinks it's boring the they won't like the hack and slash genre. This genre is made to be repetitive.
Simple as that,you guys are hitting all the right notes.

Hmmmm... this game looks like my childhood... when I was 4 years old this would have been my favourite thing ever. Of course, when I was 4 video games didn't quite have the technology for this... four colours on screen at the same time was the height of awesomeness back then...

As someone who watched the original Transformers cartoons back in 80s, this looks amazing. Might show my kids and see if they think they'd like it and pick it up perhaps after Xmas.
A bit short and repetetive, but pretty good. Now I want games of all my childhood cartoons.
The character designs are amazing I like the cell shading design it really makes me think I'm watching an episode of the classic show

I love it. Ordered it online from Walmart for in-store pickup for $20. I've only had enough time to make it to stage 3 (Bumblebee) before I got a bad hand-cramp (fibromyalgia), but still getting used to side "buttons" and "triggers" (95% of my time is still Dreamcast). As soon as I can play a bit more and control becomes 2nd nature, I'm going to crush it. This is what I've wanted. And worth waiting for! ($20! New).

I played Bayoneta and LOVED it in the past (got plantinum and finished it over 5 times) and this is the first time i play another game by PlatinumGames Inc.. Let me say this may be the BEST game PLUS gave over the last 10+ months.. If you dont like it you must have some short of brain damage.. Congratz PLUS for the grat lineup and CONGRATZ PlatinumGames for these great develops! I'll deff have my eyes on you from now on! DAMN THIS GAME IS FUN!
Got this in a sale on ps3 it was £10-20 can't remember.
Buyers Note: This is not a game for people who only play easy-hard and drop it after one playthrough. This game is for those that play Very Hard, Ultra Hard an want to grind the best loot and build your 4 characters into unique fighters. That and challenge mode/secrets optional for those that want to bother.
PS+ peeps are silly saying they got it for free, your paying for it in the ps+. An you need to keep it active. So only ps4 users.

I was a big Transformers fan as a kid and this looks like a lot of fun. What's bugging me, though, is the huge difference between the character art style and the environment art style.
Bruh hasbro had a contract with activision which was temporary so there are not many copies left so it had a price raise and they are very hard to find there are no digital versions either, you HAVE to get the discs

In all honesty I wasn't expecting this game to be as fun as it is. Each character handles as you expect them to, you know like Optis handling like a semi so on and so forth. More often than not, like you said, I didn't feel like I was playing a game, it felt more like I was taking part in episode or a movie from the Original Transformers and it just makes you fall in love with it.
it's like old times but where all the charecters old transformers had dcebticons this needs a dlc for more charecters
This is great idea for a series. I'm glad I subscribed. I think I'll wait it out and get this once its a bit cheaper. Since it's a stand alone and doesn't need me to play with people online, I won't be left behind by getting late in the game.
I'm a transformers fan and I play big major game titles each year. Know don't get me wrong fall/war are still the best transformers games period, but this feels a lot different, it makes me transformers is back to its roots. Of course basic story, same characters in each game, new and old mechanics in from previous games. Now fours hours don't seem to long but it's a fun game to play to kill some time it's not to big or to small it's a perfect example of a good game. Now from a transformers fans perspective this is what we've been waiting for a G1 game with fun and remember able characters it's basically nostalgia for fans and new ones. That's my thought leave a comment if you agree or want to argue my point fine by me.
Huge G1 fan of Transformers. I've played this game on PS4 and it is tons of fun. Just a fun brawler in the like of Final Fight and the Double Dragon Neon type of games. It's Bayonetta meets G1 Transforms in their cell shaded goodness.
This game is great. The only thing that I thought lacked was how short the game was, but they left it open to a sequel for sure. I beat it on every difficulty. Prime mode is quite the challenge. I recommend getting to Prime mode then entering the challenge modes and playing challenge 50 a lot to get rare drops and synth a lot of SS weapons before playing Prime mode. Getting the rare weapons like The Forge of Solus Prime or movie Optimus' battle axe will help you greatly. 16k and 10k damage don't play around when you have those.
If you like Transformers, get it. It's extremely fun to play especially if you don't overthink it too much. Tight controls, good camera, great sounds, and just an overall fun experience. Like they said in the video, it can get repetitive at times but if you want to be technical all games eventually become repetitive. Haven't nailed hat "infinite replayability" yet.

War for Cybertron as well as Fall of Cybertron is the perfect example of a Transformers game. Game play is amazing. Graphic, design and the layout of the map is perfect. I'm just waiting for another proper Transformer game or maybe if Hasbro and Activision can do a remastered of this two just like they did with Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2. If they can add crossplay as well.

I thought this game was gonna be trash until I saw this review but it looks really good,well done!! the combat the art! Im a 80's baby, and I know when a cartoon I watched Day to day as a kid is a accurate port and this is spot on...and this looks promising! $10 on xbox live if your a Gold member. I will be buying mines today!

Great game, the art looks like the 1986 movie and looks perfect. The fighting can get somewhat repetitive but the look and mechanics of the game are good at keeping the player captivated. This game goes for $20 now which is a tremendous value, I definitely recommend buying this one. Hopefully transformers devastation 2 will go deeper with the story, combos, and weapon building, maybe something similar to the mechanics of final fantasy 7 but keep the fighting system the way it is in devastation.
I've always wanted a X-Men game based on 90s animated show in the same vein as this game transformers devastation is very underrated
I totally agree I borrowed this game from the library and it was great the combat is fun, the g1 design and voice actors are great, and the customisation is interesting. I will say the story is mediocre but when I play a game I don't really play for story often.
I would give this game a 8/10

Yeah I know this comment is late, I just got the game and am watching videos of it. But unfortunately not all G1 voice actors reprise their roles. The voice actor for starscream passed away many years before the game was made

Yep I'll be picking it up for the ol Xbox One but I have to wait a little bit. I have to get my electricity fixed first, and then it will be a pick up right when I have the money for it. Since it was made by Platinum I knew it was going to be a great game. I have not seen a bad game from Platinum yet so I knew this was going to be good.
I have played this game start to finish. I'd say if you're a gen one fan and you like this kind of game, get it. It's fun and a little addictive, especially if you're into this kind of thing.

My only disappointments, and this is just nit-picking, the original "Bumblebee" was actually Hot Shot and there was also Red Alert but nobody cares about him. I thought Megatron sounded kinda lack luster, but Star Screams voice actor is doing him justice! He's always been my favorite Decepticon!
...the original Bumblebee was Bumblebee.
Then they lost the rights to the name and made a similar character called Hot Shot in the early 2000s for Transformers Armada.
I'm hoping this will be the, "Dragon Ball Z: Budokai," of Transformer games, and subsequent sequels will just keep getting bigger and better and more refined.

Don't hate on the game just because its short its pretty fun. Its just the first part of the game so maybe they'll ad dlc with actually being able to play as decepticons or maybe some of the victory characters. I would love nothing more than to play as g1 sludge or g1 onslaught

it's pretty much just the first three games together.
Only thing you need to know is that they took the multiplayer out of the uncharted collection
And added the uncharted 4 multiplayer beta

I played this game for free when I was subscribed to playstation plus. Great gameplay, but the inventory system turned me off from the game.
And now, I can't even find the game on the store because Activision forgot to renew their license with Hasbro. 😕

I almost mastered the Focus and just recently unlocked the Prime difficulty. TRY PLAYING THAT!!! HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!! Got 5 SS rank weapons and the rest S rank. This game is impossible to stop playing, more addictive than drugs!!! 11/10

I really want a remaster/remake of transformers fall of cybertron and war for cybertron.
I just finished the Game on the easiest difficulty. Really if I wasn't a Transformer nut I don't think I would have enjoyed this game as much. But any fans of the series I'd say go for it. Despite the gameplay being a tad simplistic the fan service is strong in the game.
It relies on a mixture of different series while primarily focusing on the G1 series. But Certain things carry over from others too. Some of the plot focuses on characters exclusive to the comics so far. Some swords look like Optimus Primals from Beast Wars. Blitzwing has his Fire and Ice powers from Animated (but only one personality), and others like Motormaster and Menasor are based upon the current toy offerings available in stores. But the Graphics look wonderful even on the last gen port.
My only weird thing is a gripe I also have with the cartoons lately. Why is a city of this scale completely devoid of Humans even with the carnage going on? Unnecessary for the game true, but I do find it odd I don't have any fleshlings around the streets at all.
This game should be worth 5,000 dollars!! That's how good this game is!

For any person who likes character action (Revengeance, Beyonetta, basically any Platinum Game) this game is great.
The only REAL problems are not being able to play as Decepticons and being able to choose from only 5 Autobots.
Sure wish it had online battles and/or co-op, as well as playable Decepticons to allow for more choices.
I hear that the uncharted games were good but I never bought them but I have seen gameplay of uncharted 4 and looks good so should I buy the ps4 remaster
