That would make a cute Kleenex box cover too. Cute ideas. I'm like you, I like to make quick and easy items. Right now I'm making small zipper pouches, and small boxed pouches. They are cute and fun.
I have so many of these and everyong i give to, absolutely loves them. This is my to go to video for fabric boxes. Instructions are great and are easy to follow. Love all the helpful hints she gives. Thank you for making this tutorial.
I just made this basket for the first time. I love it. I also added a stitch line around the bottom to make it a little more sturdy. I used 18"X18" fabric with 3.5" corners. It turned out super cute. Thank you for posting this.
I tried making one of these off another site's instructions and they didn't have the details you gave about size and the extra stitching of the sides and the one I made came out all wonky. So glad I found your instructional video because now I know where the other video went wrong and how I can fix things. So thank you very much! Great tutorial!
I have really enjoyed this tutorial and have made a lovely small box and a place mat to match. I Just didn't fold it into another box shape. So, for me, that is two projects for one. They took me some time as I have only just started sewing again. Very happy so thank you very much.
I just made a Christmas fabric box last night, but I really like yours...drats! So much nicer! Well, back to the sew board 😋😂. Thanks for the lovely tutorial; very well done. Cheers from 🇨🇦
Trisha, thank you so much for this... I've made a set in different sizes and dog fabric for a good friend of mine that just got a new puppy.... this is an outstanding and fun project... and the results are OUTSTANDING!!!!!!! Have a wonderful Christmas & New Year... Jon
I've made quite a few of these ... slightly differently ... leaving the darts untrimmed. They create a little 'pocket' on the inside (or outside if you reverse it) if you don't want something small in your box to tip over.
Hi Trisha, just found you on RUclips. So glad I did. I really enjoyed your tutorial. Great box. Have ideas for all sorts of things to put in them and as you said great to have on hand for a lovely gift. I'm all for quick and fun ideas to sew. Have already subscribed. Thanks and looking forward to hearing more from you. Bye from Australia.
Love watching and listening to you. One question, Tricia, you measured 3 1/2" in from each corner, that is for this square of 15" plus seams, but if I want to make a box bigger say, I cut a square 24 1/2", to make a box approx. 8" square, then would the corners still be 3 1/2" , or different. How do you calculate the corner angle for different size boxes. Waiting for your reply and then I can start cutting and sewing.
You could just pin the sides as to where you would like the corners, then just keep adjusting until you like what you see, mark & that is where to sew. Have fun! It really can be any size you want!
I used a double-sided fusible foam interfacing, so after I cut off the triangles from the bottom, I topstitched them as a contrasting accent to the lining triangles that are folded over the top. Cute!!
Hi trish sorry to be a pain but I was trying to find (don’t know what it’s called) a ruler u use that positions squares of fabric smack bang in the centre of a larger square so they can be sewn to make quilting squares. Can you help? I saw u use it in a demo on Hochanda but don’t watch the channel any since Create and Craft took over and effectively ruined that lovely Hochanda family feel.
Hi Trish Thank you so much for this brilliant tutorial. I have only just discovered you this morning and I have already subscribed. I love your calm and precise way of teaching. I am a beginner at sewing but have cut two lots of fabric and am in the process of having a go. Just one quick question, I want to make a couple of these in different sizes as I want to make some 8 inch boxes for a little unit I have . Please can you tell me how I work out what measurement I need to use for doing the sewing to make the points and sides of the box for different sizes ? Hope that makes sense (where you do the 3.5” on this sample)
@@sewtotallytrisha1350 It comes back into focus quickly enough to know what is going on. You do a wonderful job. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, skill and experience!
Does the triangle seam of 3.5” apply to a larger size? I think you started with a 15.50” square. Really great video by the way, only just found you and I will defo follow you. Thank you.
A quick and easy method of sewing up a very pretty fabric box. Thanks much for sharing!

Your box will be about one third the size of your fabric square. (ex. 12.5" square will make about a 4" box
I loved watching this and learned a lot. Thank you for sharing.

Well, you're simply delightful! It seems as though you're talking just to me.
this was a simple project I completed after watching the video twice. great teacher.
Thank you Carol 😊
Is 3.5 inches the mark to use for every size box??????????
Another great make Tricia, thank you xx
If the box is smaller (or larger) does this alter the 3.5" marks for the shaping?
Thank you Trish, I'll be trying this! xx

Would you be able to make a cozy for a glass three compartment food storage container? I use them for tv dinners and need cozys for them.
Great project & instructions! I plant to share the url...
Thank you Kim- and glad you enjoyed ☺️
I’ve heard if you sew with the fusible on top you don’t need a walking foot? Is that so?

Love this idea, just a suggestion, when the item leaves the camera focus, it is impossible to see what you are doing
Sorry but I make these videos alone and I don’t have a professional set up - it’s just me, a tripod and an iPhone! I’ll try to do better 😁
@@sewtotallytrisha1350 It comes back into focus quickly enough to know what is going on. You do a wonderful job. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, skill and experience!
Trisha, I don't think it was a problem as you were explaining what you were doing 😉
it is awsum
thank u
Does the triangle seam of 3.5” apply to a larger size? I think you started with a 15.50” square. Really great video by the way, only just found you and I will defo follow you. Thank you.
Jenny N Yes it can do, and it will just give a larger box of the same depth. If you increase the length of the triangle seam, it will be deeper.
@@sewtotallytrisha1350 If I'm making a smaller box does the triangle seam have to be reduced!
Susan - yes I would make it smaller 😊
I love your videos and you have taught me so much! Thank you!
Thank you! 😊
