    Thanks for your tutorial. I made mine in the same time yours. I just add 2 cm per border in each quarter, and I was right. The sewing result is just of the box. 1,5cm was not enough. And I add bias at the base of pouch for the finition. Have a nice day 🥰

    Trisha, could you tell me why the tabs don’t extend to the raw edges?

      So that the tabs aren’t stitched into the seam allowance. The tabs will give a neat top to the pouch.😀

    I've made quite a few of these ... slightly differently ... leaving the darts untrimmed. They create a little 'pocket' on the inside (or outside if you reverse it) if you don't want something small in your box to tip over.

    One thing I found out the hard way, is not to use directional fabric. I found some pretty harvest print fabric, cut out all the squares, and only after I did the 12, I realized they would be crooked. I hand cut each 12 squares individually, so they wouldn't all have the same image. So the fix was to cut the square into a circle, I will applique it onto another fabric, this way I can turn it the right direction.
