Morissette is at the top of any list of best singers in the world. She is well-known and admired by the most prolific and successful producers and song-writers in the world. She hasn't had much exposure in the USA. She is also a successful actress, song-writer, and stage performer. Those who know her personally have said she is a really wonderful person and you will agree when you watch her interviews or see how she has supported others in the industry. She brings a joyful personality everywhere she goes. She's always very engaging with her fans too. Her original songs are beautiful and I have not seen a cover (of which she has done many) which is not better than the original. Her range is from low alto to an amazingly controlled whistle register. She deserves your attention and I'm glad to see you getting to know her. You'll find she has millions of fans.

Mori is very likely the best solo female vocalist out there right now, and I highly recommend her version of 'Rise Up' and then her original 'Akin Ka Na Lang' (both also from the wishbus) as your next experiences of this wonderful talent.
1. Your comment about this being the standard to which you will judge other versions of this song - I feel a certain amount of sympathy for any singers having to follow THAT performance.
