That’s the combo I have in my mobile and I love it!!! I run mine on 5 on the RM and it’s about 350-375w. Talked skip from here in SoCal across the country, south tobTrinidad and west to New Zealand/Australia. You can’t go wrong!!!👍🏼
I got my power supply from you Rooster and I’m very happy with it. I very recommend everyone to by that power supply from Rooster y’all will not be disappointed. 73s brother.
@@jerrypolverino6025 man good deal, I know what you mean, I just put up a new antenna on my base now I'm like you I want that amp, I also love the mckinley radio, you'll be set with a great system!
Rooster. You do a great job on your videos. Informative. I take your advice seriously. I am installing this exact combination in my mobile. I watched this video several times. What do you recommend for input power? I was not able to see the input power. Hey! That accent of yours. I’m from New Jersey. We might have trouble communicating. lol. Thanks for a terrific video.
Excellent clip, rooster. I do have a couple of questions, and those are can you drive that 503 with more than 20 watts? Let's use 30 Watts as an example. Would that be overdriving the 503? If someone is considering the 503 is it safe to drive it with 30 Watts or, would one have to move up to the 503 HD?
I have same set up am is getting good reports ssb gets good reports barefoot but with amp on reports of distortion like its over driven I turned rf power on radio down amp worked good with bonestock 980 ssb, is it possible the ssb power isnt getting turned down with the am ?
@@terryshrives8322 probably a 503 or 503hd. I don't even remember the power output on a stock one, because to me it doesn't make sense to have a stock radio and run an amp. Get the performance out of your radio then worry about an amp

Really enjoy these equipment match ups, with equipment
Best videos on RUclips.
Thanks for posting this. I have a McKinley and wondered how well one of these would work with it
That was my setup. I got rid of the McKinley and went back to my RCI RG-99. My 503 is the older one with the gold casing.

I am going to buy that linear for my McKinley.
Me too! Looks like a good combo!
@@Don.E.63 I can’t wait to get mine installed. I am going to run 1.5 Watts input to the linear.

@@Don.E.63Be careful using that with a base station. You would be easier to find.
@@jerrypolverino6025 Yes Jerry your right, im just running a stock radio at the moment but I will heed your advice. Thanks!
RM Italy makes fine Amps! And these KL503, and the HD version has also a Lowpass filter in it. I use the KL503HD, and also a KL505V. Nice video!
Great combination. Finally understanding why my 503 HD ain't getting it done. Had my radio DK 2 watt input!!
what did you set the AM dead key at on the radio. thanks
Great information as always..
Got the same combo and am getting same results
Great video

Cheers Russ ..Down under.
Thankyou Russ! Waving right back
I would love to see that amp paired up with the new McKinley 2 FCC...
Only difference is the new McKinley has FM
I’m thinking one of these amps with a Tre Top
So I have a older connex 3300 hp would the 503 opposed to the 503 HD what would work for my radio
Youd need the HD

What amp would you pair with a president Richard????
I have a President Lincoln 2+ would this amp be a good choice for this radio and if so what would be the best power into the amp as to not damage it
What's the cost of the radio with a peak and tune, alignment etc with a kl 203
What do you think of this amp for the Lincoln 2 +?
Wht does a uniden 510 do pep?
Hello Rooster i have a McKinley that pushes 28 watts, what it the best for that radio?
Depends on how big you want to go.
Any low drive amp
I know im a little late this, what amp woud you run with the anytone 6666? I would seriously appreciate knowing.
Depends if it's stock or wound up

What did you set the a.m. dead key to on the McKinley?
No clue, but recommended deadkey on this amp is around 2.5 watts so around that give or take
@@Rooster_Radio thanks
Does that radio have channels in it? Like band A-F
