- Review of the all new 2021 Haibike AllMtn 7 ebike. 160mm travel, Fox Factory, Yamaha PWX2 based electric mountain bike
For 2021 Haibike have totally rebuilt the AllMtn. New frame, geometry and design. It's incredible value for money at £5599 and you get a LOT of bike for your money!

I honestly had to keep checking I'd got the price right on the bike. Its A LOT of bike for the money! Well done Haibike for creating a great ebike at an outstanding price point. What do you guys think?
Looks very impressive and no questioning the quality but what you said about the motor would put me off.
Its no biggie, its just a minor annoyance...
Is this up there with your favourites? Please do a top 10 or 5 at some point please after more makes and models are released. :)
@@odd_job_007 It honestly isn't that bad. I've gotten used to mine. Once you know it's there you know how to avoid it or use it.
Looks sturdy enough, but I am not so sure about the motor. Amazing value for money though, didn't think it was a carbon bike at first!
Great video. Thanks. Please also notice that what you see as something you don’t like much could be seen as a great feature by others. For example that ultra instant assistance of the motor as soon as you push the pedal it’s something I have always loved from the Yamaha unit. It makes those steep difficult restarts much easier. Then also, as you mentioned, the Yamaha motor has the racing motorbike heritage on its programming, so that’s what it’s so reactive and maybe less smooth that others but, who buys R6 doesn’t want a boring cruiser! I’ve got brose, Yamaha and bosh at home and, as much as I like the smooth and quietness of the Brose, I definitely enjoy the crispness of the more racy Yamaha. Thanks again.
Thanks Antonio. I also like the immediate delivery of power you get from the motor. But many other brands also do this just as well but without that twitchiness that you get. It just needs to be refined a bit, in my opinion. For example, the Bosch Gen 4 is absolutely immediate in the power delivery and helps getting started on super steep climbs 👍👍
Agreed 👍
Solid Review! Thanks Rob! I can't wait to try this guy out when it comes to the states. Quality wise, it reminds me of a throwback to the 2016 Haibike XDURO Allmtn Pro, which is one of my favorite bikes of all time. Glad to see Haibike reestablishing themselves as top eMTB builders.
DISLIKES: bugs me to see “dislikes” on content produced by this guy. From his shots, narration, experience, content, flow etc, it’s all produced extremely well, for free to you. It’s not directly sponsored. The amount of work it takes to produce a video like this, takes more than just time. The dislikes are just ignorant of that reality. Rob I recently got into E MTB after loosing my best friend 25 years ago when he hit my rear tire when we were doing a downhill in the Irish mountains. Your channel and others like Kyles are a delight to watch in a sport / hobby that is exploding.
yes Rob makes the best videos about e-bikes, by a big margin, and is also a nice guy (from what i experienced). the dislikes must be about the bike, or just about any e-bike, or even bikes in general, some frustrated car owners or pedestrians ?
Totally agree, Rob does a great job and excellent camera work.
I totally agree with you
Agreed, I never quite understand the reasoning behind people disliking videos, very disrespectful.
take no notice of the dislikes. They probably didn't even watch the video!
What a good job you did with this video. The scenery helps, too. Thank you very much for sharing this masterpiece with all of us. From Almeria, Spain
I don’t like to ‘slag’ off other channels but your review was way more extensive than the other reviews out there. Love your channel.
What a fantastic bike with a nice colour.i own a Haibike, although it's the entry hardseven 1.0 it does more than i ever need and I'm so happy with it.
About time. The Yamaha Haibikes looked like they were being phased out since 2018 and I'm so glad to see them being developed again. My 2018 AllMTN 8.0 has been nothing but incredible and super reliable. Whilst everyone was whinging about their Steps, Brose and Bosch's the past couple of years, I couldn't understand why Yamaha wasn't even getting a mention. As for the "eager puppy" "it just wants to go" effect. I love it! but if you don't, just press the down button a few times to no power mode whilst you're resting. That eager puppy makes steep hill starts a breeze in Eco or standard mode. Great review as always Rob and shout out to Haibike for experimenting but not being afraid to go back. They nailed it with this spec.
I have just got this bike today, first time on an ebike. I was literally speachless i cant believe how good this is. Anyone out there in the ebike dis camp all ill say is just try one. Thanks so much for all your content rob it helped me choose and i am 150% happy what a machine. It is so fast on the dh.
Thanks for the review, but..
My compliments really go for the outstanding video production!!! Amazing shots, top image quality, superb editing!.. your channel has some super high-quality work!
Excellent Bike.. Currently ride an AllMtn 10.0 with the PW-X it is a great combination. very very RELIABLE... I think HAIBIKE has a winner!! ' Thanks ROB-- Great Job.
Thanks Rob, another unbiased review keep em coming.
Excellent review! My LBS just started carrying Haibike so I think I'll pay them a visit tomorrow! Your videos and impressions are guiding me through my first eMTB purchase. I'll be selling my Yeti SB5.5 Turq to subsidize this, but keeping the Intense Primer. Both full carbon and full Fox Factory. Thanks!
Yamaha engine is the best most reliable motor that's available. Gets overlooked by fashion victims on Specialized etc waiting for new motors. Our 2 Yamaha motors are running smooth and strong after nearly 2 years.
Indeed, I run the Yamaha PWX on my sidecar full suspension mountain bike where both driver and passenger pedal without any issues for more than one and a half year now. Changing gear in time, it is well capable of driving the total weight of 220 kg uphill. The extra push when starting is something I particularly like about the Yamaha engine for our heavy-weight sidecar. However, it is consuming fuel! On relatively flat, yet rather technical tracks in the Netherlands (Rijssen, Lochem, Hellendoorn) we empty a 500 Wh battery within 16 km...
Shame it’s a Bosch gen 4, best motor to date. Deal breaker for me!
How many kilometers during the 2 years?
Yes, videos like this one are worth watching more than once, no doubt
I watch these reviews then I walk around the house with Rob's accent and applying bike terms to everything. My wife thinks I'm crazy. This is all I can do since every single bike he reviews is sold out or not available for months.
Thanks just bought this bike based on your review, keep going with the channel.
Me too!
Thank you for your review mate I ve order one... and should arrive after tomorrow .. I really cannot wait to drive this beautiful beast every where!!
I love my 2020 Haibike Nduro...build quality is excellent! With Haibike, I think you get Top Level Performance, Components, and value, without the "Specialized" price. Good vid Rob!
And without Specialised super customer service with 4 year warranty.
Dont get me wrong I am a Haibike rider. But Spesh customer service is levels above Haibike. And thats what you pay extra for.
Your wrong Nick, its on 2019 and 2020 motor models. If your 2.1 motor is replaced you still get 4 years from original purchase date for warranty. So yes...4 years warranty regardless.
Another high quality very informative video, keep up the great content Rob.
Decent review, Rob. That extra effort certainly pays off.
Great video Rob, your videos are getting better every time. The bike looks amazing 👍
Having had all the Motors Bosch Brose Yamaha..i am in 13th year of emtbs so know the difference from the 30kg bikes years ago to the racing snakes we have now..I ride a Specialized Levo now But Yamaha is by far the best all rounder I have ridden its refined and very very reliable unlike some others..Great review Rob and agree that is bang for buck a good bike..
I must say Rob does an excellent job. I do not understand those thumbs down. Perhaps they simply don't watch the video or they may not like e-bikes. Production, sound, image...all of them are awesome. After this kind of work, it is very difficult for me to watch vids by other people, which are rather bad and very low quality. Let me tell you once again I do admire your work, Rob. It is not fair those people who won't see the time and energy you spend on it. But I do. And we are many more. Un millón de gracias from this Spanish guy
Thanks Fran, really appreciate the comments :-) Kind regards, Rob.
Thank you for your very good work in my opinion. It really helped me a lot with my decision ... I really hope that the motor and the rest of the equipment will have a long service life 😎✌️ many thanks from Germany ... Marco
Great vid Rob Nice to see the latest ebikes and honest pros and cons.
Have you got the Wyte RS180 on your to do list? Hearing what you have to say about the British brand will be of great interest. Keep up the good work 😁
Rob great reporting. I think as more players (motors and battery control systems) roll into the space we need to address inside reviews how the bike badges will address the service and warranty around these products. Keep up the good work.
Rob I love watching how your channel grow. You are doing a great job with your reviews. I see it a lot in FB groups when people are asking: "Whats does Rob think aboit it?", "Did Rob test it yet?".
Keep on the good work mate.
Thanks SO much Jošt really appreciate it!
making me look bad once again haha... Amazing review Rob thanks for the hard work it definitely paid off
Hey Sam we see you too.. It is like a network now.. Keep it up..
Got mine yesterday. What can I say. Its a beast, absolutely love it. Had it down the local woods and it just eats the rough stuff. Its a very stable and capable bike. I'm just an average rider but this bike makes me look good. I find it very predictable and sure footed. Going on a 45 mile run tomorrow for a range test. Like to see what it does in the real world not what the manufacturers claim
Let’s us know the range man, thinking about getting this one (in mean black)
@@cd9278 had a ride up the coast 2 coast cycle track. From mine its a constant climb. Had it in mainly eco Pro as I still like to do a bit of a work out. On the steeper sections turned the power up. 39 miles later got back home with only 3 bars used out of 10 was very impressed.
Great in-depth review about a very interesting bike. Cheers.
Thank you Rob. Don’t get too close to an edge, and have that torque sensor toss you over. My Levo is more user friendly in that regard, no “suicide” mode.
Brilliant video. Great review Rob!
Can't believe that I missed this video Rob, really good one too. Liking the haibike and already looking for a new ebike for next year 2021. This is on my shortlist. I prefer the allmtn 5
Excellent video Rob and a awesome looking machine.
That's the same motor found on the latest Giant emtb's. I think Giant did a great job with the controller, it's easy to use, discret and cheap to replace in case of crash. (The down side is the Giant control app... it's not working at the moment)
I do agree, that motor is a beast and quite powerful at lower cadences.
I just wish that the motor brands would offer a tiny / no display, discrete option. These Casio style displays really bug me!!
@@RobRidesEMTB Giant bikes have a very small and discreet control set. It's very similar to what you'd find on a Turbo Levo, but also has tiny LEDs to show you support and battery levels. I also agree with Nelson - I love the motor in my Giant, it's great.
@@fifthpint4571 Yup, but there is a lot of bug with this indicator (battery level for example. I have the giant reign e pro 2)
@@RobRidesEMTB Thats fine for yous young boys. But when you get to my age larger numbers are easier to read
Hi Rob, great video like always! I am looking forward for your 2022! video with an Haibike carbon frame and the Bosch gen4 motor. By than Bosch might have replaced this Purion Display. Keep fingers crossed. Keep on going, I will continue watching your videos.
Great Video. Loved my Haibike, but just remember spares are expensive and availability can be challenging. I have suffered too many days off bike waiting for parts, so consider before you commit
Hi Rob, congrats for your channel! Your videos are always a reliable source of information. Nice quality, good sound and awesome footage, together with a comprehensive description of the specs! Looking forward to your next reviews on the new 2021 models!
Have you ever tried the BH AtomX? I’d love to know your thoughts on that model!
Thanks for your comments Josevi. Really appreciate it. Not tested the BH (yet!). Cheers. Rob.
Excellent review, I’m intrigued to know more about the mullet setup and its advantages
I have a 2020 Levo comp and I do think it is overwheeled at the back end relative to the early model, it may be in my head, but I feel a giroscopic effect when doing fast hard turns, not to mention the greater mud clearance issues with a 29er rear wheel. That said I am being picky as everything else is great.
Having come over from motorbikes, I do think there’s something in a mullet set up... any chance of an in-depth feature... why some companies have gone mullet and why others sit on the other side of the argument, you could do some good interviews
Awesome ,, purchased one today.
I’m So looking forward for its arrival
Great review, bike looks amazing. I'm not ebike owner yet, but I'm looking for some. By the way I would love to know more about your van too... Looking stunning 👌
Great review! AWESOME eBIKE! :P
Excellent review Rob, love my cube stereo 160 action team 😉😍👌
Rob -thoroughly enjoy your channel. Thank you for all you produce on eMTB bikes and topics. I only have a cheapo fat tire ebike at the moment which has been fun for sure but I want to pull the trigger on a real machine soon. Haibike's 2020 Allmtn 2.0 is a contender on my list but now this 2021 really is, as you say, outstanding -definitely giving the Turbo Levo Comp something to worry about. I truly hope it will be sold in the US. One small concern I have, however, is the carbon REAR triangle. In my research on emtb bikes I have come across a few riders saying to stay away from carbon rears because they have experienced cracking or other damage they don't experience with aluminum rears. I'm curious to know what you feel on the subject seeing that this bike is all carbon. Again, thank you for your reviews - they are invaluable.
Great review Rob
Great review Rob, your review of YT Decoy got me to buy one last year and I think you did it again :), if it only was a Bosch motor
Really like your independent review and that your are not biased like some other channel ;)
I had a brief go on the motor and it's very comparable. It has a lovely sound to it, like a Formula E Engine. Everyone that has Yamaha Motors have commented on how reliable they are.
I’m currently riding the 2020 3.0 all mountain, love this colour scheme interested to see what they do with 2021 line up. Great video rob.
Isn't this the 2020 lineup? There are 2 types available
i like how you can make that bike over 1100 wh with an add on battery, do like the blue of that bike 👌🏻👍
Should i proceed with a 2021 3.0 allmtn you believe? How is it behave?
Really like this bike, I have a haibike sduro trekking which is very good.. Stock is the issue with all bikes at the moment so I hope to find once available again. What I find difficult to understand with the EMTB new ranges is that a bike for 4500/5000 has aluminium frame and fairly budget suspension/spec -but if you spend that little more the spec seems so much more premium for not alot of money..
just bought this 2021 allmtn 6 for me son he loves it know he does jumps that he was to scared todo on his carera bike
Another great vid mate, smashing it right now! Also love the bike, looks like a great mid price choice...
Thanks a ton mate, congrats on your channel growth too!
Quality as always Roberto🏔
Great review! Looking forward to a review of the 2021 Mondraker Crafty R
Another top notch non biased planted review...keep up the great work Rob!
Cheers!!
Great video Rob. The bike looks brilliant!
Thanks Charlotte 😊
Great review rob, I’m thinking of changing my 2018 levo , could be worth a look, also think of the new cube stereo Hybrid 140
Mine is in the shop now - get it this week 👌
I love Yamaha motors. That smooth and not to powerfull delivery at start and wide range of power modes helps save battery. I did with my Giant old yamaha SyncDrive, 500W battery 120km with more than 20% battery left while Bosch gen4 500w battery died at 105km.
Yeah totally agree, those first couple of crank rotations are killer on batteries. I was super impressed with the range.
We are reaching a point where e-mtb motors are powerful enough and manufacturers should focus on efficiency, so that riders don't have to pay extra for larger batteries and carry all that additional weight while ride their bikes!
Haven't tried the Yamaha motor, but I like the natural way that a Shimano motor fades in the power when you start pedalling, it feels very natural, almost undetectable, as compared to the Bosch which jumps in hard when you start pedalling making it harder to control on a hill start, IMO. Sounds like the Yamaha is a bit like the Shimano in that respect. What's your opinion? Wider power/cadence range definitely appeals, the Shimano is quite temperamental on that score.
nice review. Cool to see all the new tech that's coming out. Man, not cheap but for a FULL CARBON e-rig....def competitively priced. I'm intrigued.
Looks fantastic for me especially to the prevoius Haibikes. For me they understand there business now because most of the guys doesnt like the blink blink looking from the older Haibike.
Rob and again a german bike and a german solution for the Batterie Cover, the böllhoff snaploc. I think is it going further like this and you getting more and more in love with these products you have to move 😂😂 the car also a german brand. It would be great because than I would invite you for a trip to the wonderful Teutoburger forest in lower saxony 😊😉
Best man in the emtb sector going further like this! 👍
Got this motor in my Giant Reign and it's well good. Sheeple are really sleeping on this motor and i don't now why. Yamaha are massive motox/superbikes hell they even built the engine in the Lexus LFA. rode 47miles in Active mode and still had 3 bars left in 4 hours 12 mins. all with 500wh. people going out in turbo mode and getting 15-20 miles then complaining it's not enough really need to earn there smiles per miles. but then again most of the country are work shy.
Managed to get the last one in the UK available in mid Nov. Otherwise have to wait till end of July 2021 for more UK stock. Th ks for video... Can't wait.
Rob (Hello from Leeds btw) which sat nav do you use? garmin 510? ps and what camera do you use to present looks really crisp.
Maybe not quite the last one, saw one in Powerbikes, Dumfries yesterday.
@@vortigerncelticrock3100 ah well i spent a whole day trying to get one :) will document my bikes arrival and my thoughts on it, but as you know rob said it was a stonker of a bike :)
Great video, I have zero idea what to get now to be honest, this looks great and there are so many amazing contenders in that c£5k price bracket.
Hi Iain. I agree. The choice is getting harder. But great to see we have many many great options.
Excellent review, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
It’s got a, “I mean bussiness look to it!”
Good work rob
Certainly does! Cheers nick!
@@RobRidesEMTB A question, i'm 97 kg , i'm 6'6", i've seen max weighy allowed 120 on the site of Haibike. In your opinion, i can evaluate this bike or is better changing bike? (I've now a Haibike with the same 120 kg allowed but is in aluminium)
So Haibike is building a really cool bike now? Love the looks. Is there a better specified bike for that money? Maybe Radon.
It would be cool if you compaired the new models to your top pick of 2020... Love your channel!!!
Very nice review! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Haibikes are taks, talk about a confidence building bike. They really do seem to give some of tge best spec bikes around for the money you pay. Keep it up Haibike n good man Rob.
Nice drone work!
Love the parallel tracking shot at 1:40.
Nice bike. Got no spare 5 grand though.
Excellent review as always Rob. I never really liked the 2020 AllMtn 3.0/3.5 design. That squared off silhouette failed to make my heart skip. But I'm really loving this 2021 design. It's so unmistakably Haibike. Full carbon full suspension eMTB for £5599! 😲 I think it's time to swap my Stereo Hybrid 160 for this bike.
I agree the design is great. Myself and Jon (The Bike Pilot) both love it. As soon as you see it in the flesh it looks even better.
that's one sick looking whip... Yamaha motors rock! Glad you finally rode one :) The Giants have the same issue at standstill with the motor wanting to give on the slightest pedal push. It's something I've gotten used to to be honest. Not really something I'm looking forward to them fixing so it does not bother me.
Hey, it really does!
Great video as always but still not sure about the helmet Rob.. 😀🤷🏼♂️
I like the Yamaha system a lot and have experience of several Haibikes. Currently I own (and love) a 2019 Canyon Spectral:ON with Shimano E8000 system.
I have to disagree with you about the amount of torque. I like the feature that you only get max torque on extra power mode. This suite my style of riding well, I can pop the power mode up while climbing, should I find the need more power. However, I'd much prefer having an app, where the rider could set the assist levels himself.
I do agree that especially on EXPW starting up can be a bit sketchy, but one gets used to it - and I learned to drop the assist level down for that reason.
I also agree that the display and switch unit is a bit cumbersome and not the most ergonomic. In fact, I much preferred the older style units, that they had a few years back in the PW-X first versions.
Anyway, the bike looks great and the specs are spot on.
HI Timo, totally agree, the App is much needed here and would allow the rider to tailer the power to their preference.
Does the module system include a range extender as last years bikes. Great channel Rob always my first point of call if looking for information on Rob Rides!
Great vid, and a lovely bike :)
It really is!
I have to say I never really liked the looks of the the Haibike but this new model Looks Really good I'm impressed
I really really like it too!
Great video, deserve a lot more subscribers! Only issue is your making me dangerously close to getting an e bike 😅
😄😂😂👍
Do it man, you won't regret a penny...! Especially not on this bike..
Nice bike and nice to see haibike is essentially offering an alternative to the TQ bohemoth. Shame they didn't work with yamaha to offer a TQ style display
I have the Allmtn 2 from Haibike, year 2023. An ingenious bike. ☺️🤘🏻
Great review as always :-) What wathcface is that, nice set of info.
glad to see they finally lowered that top tube jewels killer
I think you're being a bit critical of the Yamaha motor - I find the instant power is a feature, working seamlessly with your leg muscles when you push the crank down to take off up hill. Instant power is awesome!! I've done over 8000km on my Giant Fathom E+2 Pro that uses PW-X (previous Yamaha motor version) and it has so far shown flawless reliability. Motor reliability and lifespan is top of my list when I shop for my next ebike.
He said it was a peach at 2:39 !! It's just being highlighted for the user experience as other motors don't do it. It's not bothersome at all, just something to be aware of if you've come over from another motor system. I hear nothing but great things about the reliability from the Yamaha System, but they are a very decent engine and electrics company so this seems right up their alley. I wish it was on more eBikes...
Great vid. The Yamaha/Giant sync drive sport motor gives that same jerky feeling when you touch the pedals at stand still
They should fix that really. No need for it!
@@RobRidesEMTB Hi Rob, I really wanted one of these but got a fantastic deal on a cube SH160 slt, which turned out to have a cracked frame so returned it for a refund (meh). I managed to reserve an xl allmtn7 from a shop in Epsom today. Collect next week as long as the new Tier 4 rules dont stop me :-). Anyway enough of the waffles. Thanks for the great unbiased reviews - you are the only ebike resource that continues to keep out the bs!.
Great video Rob. What size were you riding. L or XL.
Great review and great bike. Because of the price and the technical specs (full carbon frame, shimano deore xt breaks and shifting, fox factory ...) I am really thinking about buying this bike instead of a specialized levo or levo sl !! Also because I planned with a budget of about 6000€ which would be close to this great package. What you think ?
I have the 2017 model and loving them!!
The motor is Yamaha PW-X and the initial engagement is the same.
Doesn't bother me at all.
I don't think it's bothersome, just something people might not have experienced before. It's not a dealbreaker that's for sure...
Agreed, just don't pedal if you don't want power , pretty simple.
@@TheBikePilot it is actually necessary feature on mountain ebikes, it is not flaw. You need that instant torque when you start moving uphill. And that initial kick the Yamaha motors do is not crazy powerful, it is just light tapping helping you to start moving. Bosch motors do not have that instant torque kick and people complain about it because of it makes very difficult to start moving on steep hill up without instant kick.
@@illla The New Gen 4 motor upgrade doesn't and it has instant torque. As I say it's an awesome motor, it's just something to be aware of. Had a few hours on it now and it doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's just something to be aware of!
Nice review!!👏👏 The bike was the size XL? Do you fit will? Thanks.
I might get one, having a 2017 Allmtn with Yamaha motor. I love that motor. Adding, the immediate push and torque feel at the pedals is one of Yamaha's best traits, it lets you set off on very steep inclines.
Yes, theyamaha motor is great and reliable.
I have 17.000 km on mine, no worries!
And the inmediate punch is great.
I've had 5 Yamaha motor, last season I rode with the X2 and I must say it's impressive, much more better that PWX. Automatic mode is a must for singletracks.
Well done Haibike and Yamaha!
@@joanmartret938 really, so much better?
@@gooldii1 Yes, very much better. Smooth, noticeable noise reduction, no rpm limit, engine cadence is nearly unlimited. It's a very racing engine. I've ridden also with Bosch Gen 4 and it much more smooth the Yam one.
Uphill singletracks are impressive. You should test one X2. I can't imagine what Yamaha will do with next X3 or whatever name they give.

Great review, do you think youl get the chance to review the norco sight rob ?
Oh, wow... a new Haibike. Rob, the one thing you didn't mention, or question, was the rider weight limit and why Haibike have bothered to offer an XL size. Any normal person that will fit the XL will, with riding kit, exceed 96kg. This issue has been a common factor for at least the last couple of years now and Haibike, like Focus, have failed to address it. Roll on the new Kona 29er in September with 136kg rider weight limit. Let's hope you get to test one Rob, now that's a review i'd love to see.
Testing the Cannondale Moterra anytime soon ? Had my heart set on the moterra 2 2021. But now I've seen this and its actually available...may change my mind.
