Yea but it has a major flaw, hermits need to remember putting all their cards back before dealing the next deck or the decks will become uneven and mess everything up.

First off, I'm amazed at what you do, always fun to see the creations you work on. I think the crafter might have been a simpler and more compact solution for the counter, as you can go from 0-9 (or any start value by locking out slots) by loading it one item at a time, and for reset you can just unlock a hopper below to drain it out. That aside I think this is a fantastic build, and am looking forward to seeing the hermits play. (also for "the river" think "cry me a river" as that's what someone is usually doing when that card gets turned)
you could've used a crafter for the betting meter since it can store up to 9 items and it gives the signal strength equal to the amount of filled slots it would've made it more compact
I love poker and am very happy that finally someone competent has built it in Minecraft, because there have been no or only bad designs so far. Nevertheless, I think I'm not the only one when I say: I absolutely don't understand how to operate it as a dealer!? That's why I would like a video only for that, where you explain how to operate the circuit.

As one who has played Texas Hold 'Em and many other card gambling games, "checking" after someone has made a bet does not automatically skip your turn of betting unless you have already bet the amount the previous person has bet. So if the previous person bet 5 diamonds, you'd have to "call" and bet 5 as well, or fold and not play the round anymore entirely.

It's great to see an explaination of what's going on below the table here. Always love seeing people use locking repeaters. I actually tried making my own contraption for the dealer button, which used a completely different approach: I have a line of 8 hoppers and droppers pointing into each other in a loop with a single item in there. Comparators read the droppers, then send a signal to activate their dropper if the item is in there. If someone activated the seat, that signal is then blocked, the item stays with them and makes them the dealer.

To reset it would take at least 4 gts, but at most 16, as you just need to add a signal strength 15 source next to the signal strength lock. Also you don't hear any pistons moving.

I love redstone but I play on bedrock, meaning most of the cool complicated redstone doesn't work for me, but I have a few questions, so I'm trying to also build poker in mc, I've nailed a few things with my own design but I've been trying to use your design from 7:56 but for some reason it doesn't work on bedrock, the signal doesn't get stopped, it just continues onto the next segment
fun fact. there is approximately 8.06 duovigintillion ways to shuffle a 52 card playing deck. if you started shuffling a deck of cards at the beginning of the big bang 1 time per second, up until this very second... you still wouldn't be halfway through all the unique variations of shuffles. Meaning that every time someone has ever shuffled a deck of cards there's a huge chance its been a unique shuffle to them specifically and nobody else.
