DARK DID NOT COPY SPIFF PEOPLE
Dark’s hardcore run where he changed the difficulty to 10 (5x harder than hard mode) was done nearly a year prior to that vid. Spiff’s vid may have reinforced the urge to make this happen but Dark had already made the “make the game harder then base-game” trope happen.
Now did spiff know about that? Most likely no, he probably tried difficulty 20 on his own mind, but still.

I can confirm this, I was one of the people in Dark's chat when he did Difficulty 20. When I saw Spiff's vid I LITERALYL said "No way bro is copying Dark"
It may not be copied but Spiff did do 20 difficulty. I know this because I set my own difficulty to the exact same when he did to try the challenge for myself. The only real difference between this video and Spiffs is the rule against insta kill moves/bytes.

Does it even matter if the idea _was_ copied? People should watch videos for the personality that's provided, not for the challenge itself, and multiple people doing the same idea doesn't hurt anything.
This is slowly becoming like 50 animatronic ucn runs where people are pushing the human limits by modding the difficulty to stupid lengths
@lemons38 tyrn based rpgs are not hard if they are not rng based bullshit. I would say that there are 2 types. Tge one you can beat just with the knowledge of game, its mechanics and how to use them and the second boring one when you just have to grind to a right level

That scott fight may have taken 25 minutes, but it still took me longer, at 30 minutes, to beat hard mode bubba with only poison damage.
Why would you make yourself suffer like that?

I'm currently doing the infamous Pokedex/Prof. Oak's Challenge from Pokemon in FNaF World. This challenge requires me to unlock ALL available animatronics before pressing ANY jump buttons/crossing into Dusting Fields (automatically adds 3 to the jump list), as I'm treating these as the counterparts to the "before each badge" requirement.
For example, as I'm playing v1.024 (Demo/final 2D full version), I must unlock BB to Nightmare Fredbear BEFORE I can enter Dusting Fields, as the jump 2 button in Choppy's Woods can be skipped; likewise with Update 1 players, but Update 2 players must also unlock ALL Halloween Backstage characters (due to the shortcut to it in Fazbear Hills) before increasing their jump list.
In fact, players can beat any ending in the game without ever pressing a jump button; as such, the Pinwheel Funhouse exclusives (Nightmare, Fredbear, and Spring Bonnie) must all be unlocked BEFORE exiting the funhouse itself, as well as pressing any jump buttons.
You do not understand the hell I went through for difficulty 1002. Stay away at all costs, just quit increasing at difficulty 100. It took 3 hours to collect xp on Security

A cool way of pushing this challenge further could be making it so that nothing gives you XP, since increasing the difficulty further and further would eventually just make the challenge turn into a grindfest.

Its basically hard mode, but you are unable to save your game!
Instakill moves (except waterhose) are not allowed.
Reaper bytes are not allowed either.
But I will allow update 2 characters being used,but you can only have one in your loadout.(yes the no saving issue might make you rage) good luck my friend…

If I remember correctly, challengers appear on specific tiles, & they're almost-if-not-completely guaranteed to appear when the player walks over the challenger's respective tile until the challenger is defeated. At least, that's how it worked in V1.0.

About rpg speed running gen 1 Pokémon with an emulator at up seems like a fun option with X-accuracies being bugged and allowing moves to never miss. Even 1 hit KO moves like horn drill
