Papa Shango was an awesome gimmick. Yes, it was cartoony, but that shit was the apex of the novelty character influx we got in 1991-1993. Dark, brooding, mysterious etc. I actually looked forward to Superstars to see him tool w jobbers. Obvi Godfather was his best gimmick, but Shango always gets shit on. Great look, music, everything!

There was an angle they were going to do where he controlled The Undertaker and had actually raised him from the dead, but it got scrapped for his NOD angle and then, of course, The Godfather angle, which is still one of my favorites from the attitude era. Still, that would've been an entertaining angle and fun to watch.
