We lived in Teignmouth for 25 years until 2020 when we had to move because of my work. We loved living there and miss it so much, especially the beach where we had some lovely walks with our dog. Your videos are a great way to look back at those happy times and see how things have changed or stayed the same. Thank you Bill and I hope you're feeling better now.
Thanks mate - Perhaps you will come back to live again one day - I love it here, & don't think I will ever leave - As you say, you have my videos, & there's no foreseeable reason why I will be stopping doing them any time soon 👍 Enjoy your daily dose of Teignmouth whenever you fancy, & thanks for watching 👍👍👍
Very well done Bill for going out to film and i hope you will feel better soon. Newton abbot has a nice town centre with plenty to look at , thanks Bill take care.
You were standing outside my old office on Platform 1 at Newton :) Hope you are feeling much better now. I used to go that orthodontist too but around 1980. Until then it was the dentist opposite the purps.
lovely walk on the sea wall and trains, newton abbot looked good im glad it went well and wow you had a cross county home. my toby carvery is booked for 25th in newton abbot. that pub by the station there it used to be a pub but when we went back to station last year so catch train back to dawlish it was a taxi place but now its a pub it looks
Even further back in the day, it was an amusement arcade! It was the first place we would all go, after getting off the train and heading into newton - That would have been the early 80s :) & Yes - The Train back was going all the way to Manchester!
@BillsPhoneTeignmouth ah right wow was it. Yeah I know it was going to Manchester because they do Paignton to Manchester lol those trains do Plymouth and penzance to Scotland
My home town , shame it’s gone downhill theses days, in the early 70s it had great shops , that used to be my dentist till covid , then was pushed to go private 👍🙂
Hi David. I don't think I visited Newton myself until the late 80s, but I can remember it then. Everywhere is changing now, and not for the better... I was actually over there again yesterday. That video will be live next Friday - I walked some of the 'Back Streets' yesterday, so a little different. Ive built up quite a few videos of Newton abbot now, due to my constant dental trips! - Cheers 👍👍👍
I have planned a trip over by train at some point, to see the work at the station - Not sure when though - all depends on me getting 'cover' so I have someone standing by to take care of Mum if needed 👍
hi Bill, hope the mouth is getting better. Nice to see round Newton Abbot as we haven't been there for about 12 years. It's changed a lot, although I remember the market and that school. Also in Teignmouth when did the Dawlish Inn stop being that?
Yes, much better now thanks - Dawlish Inn name change? Years ago now... Couldn't give you a date I'm afraid, as I'm not really a 'pub person' to have noticed, but I'm sure it had another name after 'Dawlish Inn' but before what its called now... 👍
Excellent ❤
Thanks 😊
