The 12-year-old boy volunteered to help his younger sister with her math homework after seeing his mother become frustrated with the girl. Although he was gentle with her at first, the boy ended up having a tearful meltdown after his stubborn sister refused to follow his instructions.

Dude teaching is so hard, i tried to teach my cousin elementary maths and it was so frustrating to see him make same mistake again and again. After that i understood i may be good at studying but teaching is out of my league probably cause I'm a fast learner and expect other to be too.

Enough said. I'm a tutor, my class is full of weak students. Case like this, you have to go back to basic addition, weeks and weeks of addition practice, before reintroducing angles, then shapes, then how to use protector, well before learning about triangles & its properties.

School board keeps on one up syllabus update that they don't understand that young children's capability to learn is not through rigorous hours of studying but to play and relate.
I mean, she's not wrong that 90+90=180, but fact that she had trouble fathoming three numbers can add up to 180 meaning her addition skills are not up to par with the topic.

A great lesson learnt for the youngster teaching his sibling, because he fully understands how the teachers in his school feels when teaching the different year groups in many educational institutions. And parents trying to help their children with their homework.
At least in the future whatever profession he chooses, being an educator is very low on his choices. He has worked very hard and hope Mum will reward kindly for his pain. I am crying with him. Peace and kindness with prayers 🙏 🙏 💜💐💐

1. people under the age of 18 in China can only use the internet 2 hours per week. In the modern era, China is hell for them.
2. it's highly likely that most Chinese family force their kids to spend at least 5 hours or even longer a day on studying even after coming back home from school through a strict supervision.
3. it's most likely that she may have vented her frustration onto her own brother due to this strict Chinese parenting at a very young age.

@@strugglesxxx I'm not complaining about students struggling a little because that is a given. What I'm talking about here is far beyond that. I've had very stubborn students who not only have a hard time understanding things, but also DON'T want to understand. They don't make an effort to try and learn something, they're uninterested and unbothered. They will argue, refuse to learn, miss classes, fail exams and STILL won't listen or learn. Some even fight the teachers. No matter how patient I have to be with my students, I'm still just human. You can't tell me not to feel a little bit frustrated sometimes.
I would also like you to teach a class of teenagers for a few months and come and tell me how it went 😂

As a math teacher this speaks to me in so many ways. After the fifth time explaining something that we’ve been doing for a week mentally breaks you sometimes. Nothing hurts more than a student making the same mistake on the 4th practice problem after you took the time to explain it to them 1 on 1. It’s understandable but really frustrating.
