Never saw a lot of these but gotta ask what about Soul Reaver? You said Blood Omen which was great but Soul Reaver took it to a whole different level

I have a semi horror game from the PSX I bet no one has heard of nor played. Its called Sentient from 1997. Your task is to save the crippled space station that is hurling itself towards the sun. You have to beat it by a certain time or all is doomed.
Not true horror. But the horror of looming death is always present. It was rather open world for its time.
So happy to see Martian Gothic getting some love! That game used to terrify me as a child.

Nightmare Creatures is soooo bad. I don't get why people always talk about it like its a good game.
Agreed! I played it again a couple of days ago with my son after having not played it in like 20 years and I still don't get the hype surrounding it..

@@vladv5126 It's not necessary to be a kid to enjoy a old game, kid or not you can enjoy the games anyway, otherwise your taste might be not the same.
@@taldoralph if it were a matter of tone or story I would agree but Nightmare Creatures is broken on a mechanical gameplay level. It has you fighting the controls and camera from start to finish. And sure you can enjoy that but at that point it's called masochism.
Nightmare Creatures was the "Bloodborne" before Bloodborne

Some games then with vampires and a bit of gore were counted as horrors then.
True, it's not a true blue horror game like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, or Alone In The Dark, but it definitely belongs in the horror genre. In my opinion, the entire Legacy Of Cain franchise could be referred to as "Dark Fantasy Horror"
They even have MediEvil and its sequel on this list.. They're not horror games in the slightest! Even back in the day, they weren't considered horror.. They were just trying to fill slots anyway they could..
