  • James Sakker diving Cape Upstart in September 2023. I find a nice wreck and take a couple of nice fish. Coral Trout, Dark Tail Sea Perch, Black Spot Tusk Fish and a huge Blue Barred Parrot.

Yeah it’s always dirty and I’m yet to see it full of fish compared to other spots nearby.

Check out the zoning as only the front of the headland is open. You will see the right spots just driving along the 5nm that is open. Try to dive the best visibility areas. Good luck!

I discovered the wreck around 13 years ago. Never seen much on it because it's too shallow. It's a local trawler that was sunk on purpose in the 90s. It was sank quite a bit further out but cyclones shifted it up against the cape unfortunately

Love those parrot fish. Got a few and I found I need to gut them well or they smell. Taste as good as tuskies I think. You're definitely the king of dirty water diving.

Loved the Whales songs, careful they don't put in a copy right claim against you 🤣😆. Looked like you have had a good day out. Thanks for sharing the adventure and entertainment! Dive safe, have fun! 👌🤿

Thanks mate at my size I have to be more careful they don't try to mate with me-you know some big humpback going" say my name! say my name!" me sucking thumb and not making eye contact.....
      Glad you enjoyed it!!

That wreck looked fishy as, you'd think a big stonker bar cheek or a jack or something would have been sitting under that. Must get hit a bit but didn't notice fishos line n rigs hanging off it. I'll have to venture down that way for a dive sometime.

Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it-I was surpised not to see something really good maybe on another day, at least I have the mark now. Yeah absolutely no fishing line on it, i think a big bar cheek did sneak out though....
