Because if it's the former, then I don't get what the Holy Spirit has to do with it, and if it's the latter, then it's not "literally".
I remember my grandfather, born in 1900, talking about never hearing anything about a rapture until he was about 40. Prior to that, it was not taught. When the Assembly of God denomination realized that the Noah story didn't fit the idea of rapture, they quit using the "one will be taken the other left approach'" in evangelism. I never did believe in the rapture..
I loved the little dig at Harold Camping’s prediction of the end of the world occurring on May 22. Which was revised and updated after his previous prediction of September the previous year. Apparently he didn’t do the math properly the first time. After May 22 came and went with no special effects, no brimstone- nothing, he retired from the public eye till the end of HIS 🌎 world. 😎
As a Pentecostal I found this hilarious! A great way to lighten an often difficult discussion. Thanks so much for the laugh! :) Blessings, and may we all be willing to adjust our doctrines when the Perfect comes!
In the days of Noah the righteous were removed and the wicked were left behind to suffer God's wrath. The righteous were floating above it, safe in the ark. The righteous then descended back down to earth.
@@lukericker8325 - It's always amusing how pre-tribbies interpret Scripture to mean exactly the opposite of what it literally says, and then boast about how 'literal' their false doctrines are.
"Jesus says he will come like a thief in the night, therefore he is quiet, because thieves never forcefully break into houses, turn every belonging upside down, an give the owner a heart-attack."
True He comes like a thief in the night, but a lot of people believe that's when Jesus secretly snatches the church away before the tribaulation. But If you read in 1 Thess 5:2 Paul says that the "day of the Lord" will come like a thief. Most people believe the rapture will come like a thief in the night, but clearly the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
If the 1 Thessalonians 4 Rapture gives us a heart attack, we have nothing to fear, because we're being given new bodies at that moment, in the twinkling of an eye. The new physical heart will be much better. Thus shall we ever be with the Lord.
I love this! I just found out this past year that I'm not actually dispensationalist. Though I don't see why Jesus avoiding kingship in the first century means there won't be one later.
Flappy and Sapphon- In Matthew 24 Jesus tells believers to stand firm until the end. He also says that the trying days of the end will be cut short for the sake of the elect, otherwise no one would survive. No hint of escaping. Also in Acts 1, after the ascension of Christ, the disciples are told he will be seen returning just as he left which goes along with a visible, not to mention loud, return in the clouds. No stealth return. Good to study what the early church believed.
oh. my. gosh. I literally almost died laughing. the only reason I was able to stop is because my 1 year son was about to start crying - he had NO IDEA what I was doing!
Division amongst the body is a repellant for the unbelieving, but yet unity on a global scale is what is eluded in revelation and Daniel as the system the antichrist of the great tribulation will rule over.
Yeah. That actually reinforces my point. Paul is saying that, on the last day, we will be judges of the world. As in, at the end of time, when Christ returns. He then says that, because of this, we ARE qualified to judge one another. Thank you for backing me up. I like it when we can agree. :)
There's much confusion today over the timing of the rapture and the Lord's second coming. From my reading of the Bible,(I didn't always believe this because I was a Dispensationalist at one time) I find the rapture and second coming synonymous events. 1 Thess. 4:15-17 & 1 Cor 15:21-28, teach the second coming. It says the 2nd coming will be the end, not 1000 years before the end. Its says that Christ is reigning now, but will give up his reign at the second coming and hand it over to the Father.
Yes let's just argue over the end of days instead of being what we were meant to be and going and telling them About Christ and his death on the cross to atone for sins. I will not debate rapture or not because at the end of the day either way I have faith that God and christ will be with us as we go God bless you and keep you I pray
Agree, it's not like Tim LaHaye's version of the rapture scenario. Yet, in the video, it is said that the wicked were removed, which doesn't make sense when Scripture is compared with Scripture. Read Matthew 24:40-42. Verse 42 says, Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. - 1 Thessalonians 4:17, KJV...etc...
Believe or don''t, but at least know the historical facts of a pre-trib rapture being taught in the early church because repeating the Darby-MacDonald theory discredits the hard work you do in other areas. Ken Johnson is probably the foremost authority on the historical evidence of early church examples. love your videos. keep them coming
That's why people run away from their catholic reformed "churches" and become practical atheists. Instead of listening good christian radio or podcast, studying Bible properly , they listen all day Rush Limbaugh political crap then praise false teachers, like Hank Hanegraaff and Steve Gregg for their milk. Since they find Bible boring and closed book, they just forget about it all along, just threw it on to shelf and that's it. But when you are in Christ instead of in Luther, then you find dispensational teaching all over the Bible. I was shocked myself, when I've found in gospels these "two days" of church and of leaving out Israel for two days by God, it's all over the place: in Hosea, in Luke, when Good Samaritan (Jesus) has brought the wounded in to the inn, and gave to the keeper(Holy Spirit) TWO denarii, which means TWO DAYS of wage. Then Jesus stayed in Samaria with converted woman and these samaritans TWO DAYS. He was not coming TWO DAYS in John 11:6 before going to Lazarus. TWO DAYS Jesus was in the tomb and on the third has been resurrected. But nooo, it's just been written for nothing. Yea, right. Preterist teaching is totally false teaching, whether they admit it or not. They just removed the clock (Israel) from their prophetical wall and make freaks out of themselves, like ostrich with his head in the sand.
The only thing funnier is the video called “Lutheran Air”. The no frills airline. Lunch will be potluck. Rows 1-6 bring salad and rolls….. I was wetting my….. cheeks!
We just need to have a big fistfight. Dispensationalists vs. people who actually read their Bibles. Whoever comes out alive wins the argument. No tapping out.
Remember, is the Holly Spirit who gives us understanding of the Bible, not theologians. They are His instruments only until certain point where He takes over. The only requirements I can think of are humility, willingness to obey the Lord and perseverance. Lord bless.
I'm curious as to what the Lutheran church teaches about eschatology, in terms of the book of Revelation. Like what about the bowl judgments, the locusts, the Antichrist...
I have several good friends who attend Calvary Chapel churches, and none of them are hard-headed or judgmental on their belief in the rapture. In my experience, CC'ers who are that strict about it have a lot of personal issues they don't want to deal with, and attacking amillennialsts like me is how they suppress their own sins of pride and arrogance... to their own detriment.
(cont) In the Olivet Discourse in Matthew Ch.24, it is true that the one that is 'taken' & one that is 'left' is NOT talking about the Rapture, but the Second Coming. However, Jesus' reference to the days of Noah has to take into consideration that BEFORE the Flood came & 'took out' the wicked, the righteous got 'into' the Ark, which was 'caught up' to the Heavens, & then after the Flood 'took out' the wicked, the righteous returned IN the Ark TO earth. Likewise, those who are "IN Christ" get raptured BEFORE the Tribulation, when the wicked are 'taken out' when Christ returns WITH His Church to the EARTH (not just stopping in a cloud). Same with the days of Lot in the Gospel of Luke's parallel account. Lot's family was 'pulled out' BEFORE God destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah. When Jesus talks about His Kingdom is not of 'this' world, He's talking about His Heavenly 'spiritual' Kingdom where all true believers go when they die after they trust in Christ as their Savior. However, there WILL be a literal 'earthly' kingdom when Jesus returns to (the '1,000' year reign of Christ - Rev.20:2-7) when He 'rules & reigns' over Israel, because Jesus tells His disciples to pray that when they have to flee, to pray it doesn't happen on a SABBATH (Matt.24:20) - and ISRAEL worships on the Sabbath - not the Church, which means the Church won't be here, because the Church will have already been 'raptured,' which is a Latin translation ('rapiemur') from the Greek word ('harpazo') for 'caught up' in 1 Thessalonians 4:17. Same Greek word as in 2 Corinthians 12:2,4 when Paul was 'caught up' to the 'third HEAVEN.' (cont)
Todd Riordan If that is true, then 'when' exactly did Jesus return? When did the "Son of Man come on the clouds" & "all the tribes [of Israel] mourn" (Matthew 24:30)? That is a reference to His Second Coming in Revelation 1:7 & Zechariah 12:10-12. When did He "send forth His angels with a great trumpet' & 'gather together His elect' (v.31)? Again, that is about the Second Coming. When Israel mourns, they 'mourn' because they accepted DURING the Tribulation Period that they crucified their Messiah. That hasn't happened yet, because Israel is still looking for their Messiah. The Preterist, Amillennial, Mid-Trib, Pre-wrath, Post-Trib, & Post-Millennial views don't support this. Only a dispensational Pre-Trib Rapture view supports this, because otherwise, you have no one surviving through the Tribulation Period to pass into the Millennial Kingdom ("1,000 years") in Revelation Ch.20 to have children who are later deceived by Satan ("the nations").
Todd Riordan you didn't answer my question. If that passage (Matthew 24:30) has to do with the destruction of the TEMPLE (not Israel), then 'when' did Jesus return? Because Jesus is ALSO describing His Second Coming TO EARTH, as well (see Revelation Ch.19).
The passage in Matthew is dealing with the end of the temple and the destruction of Jerusalem. It does not deal with the second coming in Rev. Those are two different events
I realize I am very late to the party (was I...*sunglasses* Left Behind? YEEAAAHHHHH!!.....), but I can't help but notice that everyone who latches onto the Thesselonians verse that says we will be caught up in the air with Christ as he descends never seem to notice that it says nothing about Christ leaving or stopping His descent.
@richartrod I think it's a secondary issue also... but it is crucial to salvation if one's deceived. Most Christians do not even know "where" they're going when they die or what will occur when the resurrection happens. This alone, leads to many false teachings that could be easily understood if one would dedicate some time to studying the OT/promises and prophets. Many dismiss it, and then show no understanding of the NT. It's crucial because many won't be saved not knowing Revelation.
Very goog brother. Excellent. Had me laughing good. I am a Calvinist and just enjoyed the pleasure of baptizing our 4 week old. We reformed types have the best avenue to evangelize the Romanists from their apostasy.
@FlappyDogman He explains it in the video. One will be taken, the other left. In Noah's day it was the wicked who were wiped out, Noah and his family were kept safe in the Ark of God. Noah and his family were not removed from the earth, the wicked were. Matthew 24 pretty much rules out the idea of rapture. We will be here and God will keep us as he wishes during the tribulation.
fun & games aside growing up with adults being convinced of dispensationalism & making sure their children carry the same conviction can be a rather horrifying experience especially the specific part of rapture & 7 years of tribulation dispensationalism can have such a strong hold on a person unless a series of events happens which causes them to question the beliefs which they grew up with while these are reasonable objections it may not be enough to convince a dispensationalist because dispensationalist beliefs put those believers in a situation similar to Pascal's wager it is unwise to underestimate the power of fear
@Kasine4412 The church is mentioned in Revelation 12. The "woman" represents the saints/New Jerusalem/Mother of us all(Sarah). The idea of you being caught up to heaven to be with God is a farce, we will be gathered with Christ in the AIR and descend with Him on the Mt. Olive. We will reign on earth with Him... the Kingdom comes from God, not built by man. Rev 21, Matt 5:5, Isaiah 65? This list could go on... God is coming to US... to dwell with us on this earth with curse removed.
I'm chuckling, but it is an "overall" kind of thing. This video would have been brilliant if it had just ended more quickly. If it wasn't for the Nightcrawler reference, I'd say have ended it with the vanishing. ;)
Flappy- Watch Paul's Baptism Oopsie from TheLutheranSatire. That's another that challenged me when I became Lutheran. Now I believe differently. Also, the Greatest Conspiracy Ever is hilarious too.
most would actually argue that there would be two second comings or rather 1 1/2 the first one secret and the second one with the trumpet sound. I don't know where they get that though.
They mix the 2... The rapture would not be the second coming.. that would be after 7 year trib. Also I hate when they call it a Secret Rapture... Believers are supposed to be prepared.. it is only secret to those perishing...
Not all of us who are premillennial and dispensationalist necessarily are sold on the rapture. Personally, I've yet to do more study on the matter before I can make a definitive conclusion. For now I hold that all our eschatology will be sorted out when it happens. Plus it's only eschatology, it's not like it's the end of the world. HAHA
@Kasine4412 Sorry realized I did not answer your other question either. "Who..OT...woman?" Sarah, the mother of promise..Galatians 3-4 speaks about this in great detail. She represents the New Jerusalem and her children, the mother of us all. See Isaiah 54 for God describing this how he will make the New Jerusalem(on EARTH) larger to fit the Gentiles. Answer my questions also, was not Abraham told to walk the land of promise? Did God lie to him saying that would be his?

I remember my grandfather, born in 1900, talking about never hearing anything about a rapture until he was about 40. Prior to that, it was not taught. When the Assembly of God denomination realized that the Noah story didn't fit the idea of rapture, they quit using the "one will be taken the other left approach'" in evangelism. I never did believe in the rapture..
You had me at "I thought it best to go with the option that doesn't call my Lord a moron."
The wicked were taken to judgment and the righteous left behind to enter the kingdom.
It does what most one-sided arguments do, as it sets up a straw man who improperly voices the arguments from the other side, making him ripe for criticism. I'll still rejoice when I see you rising with me to meet Him in the air on that day. Thanks so much for the laugh! :) Blessings, and may we all be willing to adjust our doctrines when the Perfect comes!
forget the Theology on this one, this is just the Best Thing To Do With Mutant Powers Ever XD
In the days of Noah the righteous were removed and the wicked were left behind to suffer God's wrath. The righteous were floating above it, safe in the ark. The righteous then descended back down to earth.
+Kenny Is Cool Nope. It was the righteous who were left behind after the flood. It was the wicked who were taken in the flood.
Christopher Rose Nope. Wrong. The Righteous were taken away from the judgment.
@@lukericker8325 - It's always amusing how pre-tribbies interpret Scripture to mean exactly the opposite of what it literally says, and then boast about how 'literal' their false doctrines are.
C. C. Go read Romans 14 and then repent. You aren’t even saved.
Former dispy here. Thanks for the good laugh peeps!
"Jesus says he will come like a thief in the night, therefore he is quiet, because thieves never forcefully break into houses, turn every belonging upside down, an give the owner a heart-attack."
Youre wrong, he will come like a thief because he will surprise you haha.
Oh man. I'm in tears
Oh man, finally found the one where they attack me! I feel so honoured 😄
Christ arriving with a shout and the rapture of the church are two different instances both called the day of the Lord.
I laughed chunks of a cookie out of my nose... best vid ever
Still one of the funniest videos on RUclips.
Yes let's just argue over the end of days instead of being what we were meant to be and going and telling them About Christ and his death on the cross to atone for sins. I will not debate rapture or not because at the end of the day either way I have faith that God and christ will be with us as we go God bless you and keep you I pray
I am so glad you referenced my favorite superhero.
+Joshua Monson Likewise mine, or at the very least my favorite X-man. Merry and Catholic to the core!
"The option that doesn't call my lord a moron"
Agree, it's not like Tim LaHaye's version of the rapture scenario. Yet, in the video, it is said that the wicked were removed, which doesn't make sense when Scripture is compared with Scripture. Read Matthew 24:40-42. Verse 42 says, Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. - 1 Thessalonians 4:17, KJV...etc...
John Lennon was a Lutheran pastor!?! We know that he took Paul seriously.
Colossians 3:4 KJVS
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
The only thing funnier is the video called “Lutheran Air”. The no frills airline. Lunch will be potluck. Rows 1-6 bring salad and rolls….. I was wetting my….. cheeks!
This is great, I'm a Anti-Dispensationalist Baptist, and I find this great.
I hold (in broad strokes, at least) to dispensationalism, but this is funny stuff.
We just need to have a big fistfight. Dispensationalists vs. people who actually read their Bibles. Whoever comes out alive wins the argument. No tapping out.
I'm begging you to incorporate all this material into a new member curriculum.
"Just kidding!" Love you guys.
Remember, is the Holly Spirit who gives us understanding of the Bible, not theologians. They are His instruments only until certain point where He takes over. The only requirements I can think of are humility, willingness to obey the Lord and perseverance. Lord bless.
Just beautiful...
🤣😁🤣 Still funny after all these years!
Man this is so great lmao
“this is not good” i’m dying
i actually plan to go to work one day with a bag of identical clothes and just leave them at my desk like I was raptured while I sneak out to lunch.
When time ends, and the believers are all in heaven, yes. There will be no earthly reign.
Smacks of gnosticism my friend. Be careful.
Actually the Olivet Discourse is dealing with the judgement on Israel that came in 70 AD not the second coming.
That passage is dealing with the destruction of Israel in 70 AD.
I was laughing so hard I was crying
Priceless! LOL
1:55 “whatever” LOL
The truth in this is profound lol!!!
I'm Dispensationalist, but this is hilarious!
Me too! And me too again! 😂👏🏼🙌🏿✝️💯
@richartrod
I think it's a secondary issue also... but it is crucial to salvation if one's deceived.
Noah was one of eight people taken _up._
The rest stayed below, and were washed away in a baptism performed by God.
D and C need to do every video! No exceptions.
That was awesome!
The dispensationalist's voice was the pastor's voice in the last video.
Very goog brother. Excellent. Had me laughing good. I am a Calvinist and just enjoyed the pleasure of baptizing our 4 week old. We reformed types have the best avenue to evangelize the Romanists from their apostasy.
Nest time take on modulism.
@FlappyDogman
He explains it in the video.
I just love being a Lutheran!
hilarious, I MEANT, LOL.
Love this.
thanks for the laugh
Lol! He can teleport! XD
fun & games aside growing up with adults being convinced of dispensationalism & making sure their children carry the same conviction can be a rather horrifying experience especially the specific part of rapture & 7 years of tribulation
dispensationalism can have such a strong hold on a person unless a series of events happens which causes them to question the beliefs which they grew up with
while these are reasonable objections it may not be enough to convince a dispensationalist because dispensationalist beliefs put those believers in a situation similar to Pascal's wager
it is unwise to underestimate the power of fear
@TheLutheranSatire Oh, ok. Darby was before his time in the sense of popularity, but if it is new, it probably isn't true.
love the subtle facepalm at 1:26
Why does the Lutheran guy lie when asked if he is done? Must point out that it is sin.
Since when?
Ahhh, yep Lutherans sin, good thing we have the gospel
and grace.
@Kasine4412
The church is mentioned in Revelation 12.
If it wasn't for the Nightcrawler reference, I'd say have ended it with the vanishing. ;)
Next time my daughter asks me what my favorite superpower is I have a new answer.
Lol, the dots and dashes of the left guy spells out error in Morse Code...
The voice of the archangel is the entrance voice of the deacon. Christ is the priest. The archangel is the deacon and the whole thing is the Mass
@RadicalGraceRadio Awesome!
@stitch99 That's my favorite line too.
It's all fun and games until he doesn't come back.
Flappy- Watch Paul's Baptism Oopsie from TheLutheranSatire. That's another that challenged me when I became Lutheran. Now I believe differently. Also, the Greatest Conspiracy Ever is hilarious too.
Yes. All mankind, from Adam to the end of days, are saved in the exact same way. Scripture makes this quite clear. Why don't you get it?
most would actually argue that there would be two second comings or rather 1 1/2 the first one secret and the second one with the trumpet sound.
"Who..OT...woman?"
Sarah, the mother of promise..Galatians 3-4 speaks about this in great detail.
