This meant so much to me back then. When this dropped I was in school learning how to paint cars, now I’m co owner of a paint shop and have two of my dream cars in the driveway. Still healthy and focused and grateful every day. Blessed. Wishing blessings to everyone else out there chasin their dreams, whatever success may mean to you.
That’s dope my inspiration to keep grinding 💯
So weird. I'm in school rn for painting cars. And my ambition for it makes a whole room look my way . I can't wait to see where I'll be in a few months .

@@user-wn3lt9kv8fgoofy how? I’m sure you look damn hungry and impoverished in your 20s. Drake was ascending to his prime and he looked that’s why everyone wanted him on their hook and features in late 2000s and 2010s..
🥺 when this song came out; I was unemployed and pregnant and then became a college dropout. 12 years later I have a degree, a career, my kid is a straight A student and I just got married in July. I’m happy.

i miss drake's music like this , when he was more personal and actually cared about rap.
I miss 2007-2010 Drake his songs now like too good and controlla suck everyone misses forever and started from the bottom days
His music has to change because his conditions are different from before he was as famous, you can't believe what he goes through and the pressure that he deals with so take him as he is, humans evolve based on their surroundings = we never stay the same. YOu aren't the same as your high school self either.
Started from the bottom is recent real fans know room for improvement and so far gone was his real music
L not young and naive anymore ...
and all of his features.. these hoes only listen to his commercial songs. foh.
When this song came out I was living with my father unemployed. Now I have a career and I'm a homeowner ❤

I remember when this song came out I was in prison when drake first came out and it was this song
I remember walking down the street 3am in the morning with this song on blast through my headphones. I had gotten a call alerting me that my grandfather was critically ill in hospital due to severe diabetes and I was hoping I had the money to rescue him at the time but I didn't. This song gave me the courage to continue pushing for greater heights. its only sad that he died shortly after I had inked a signature on a major TV deal. R.I.P Grandpa.

I honestly miss this Drake. I really used to feel his music.
Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I was bumping his music hard the first several years he was out. (being from Toronto and all) But I can't really vibe/relate to his music anymore.
Me too. He was my favorite rapper back then. I bumped his music religiously. Idk what happened. Stopped listening to him since 2015.
like the old drake? then listen to the old drake...who's stopping you? man doing his own thing and you out here complaining on music videos that he doesn't do with his life what you want.
Doru Catana aye man chill she ain’t say she ain’t like the new drake she jus saying that she miss his old vibe. Chill on her

The Real Drake is not the only one who plays this type of pop music.
This song is my go to when struggling with major depression and being broke for the time being. The process to financial stability is one of the toughest part of life. Depression makes me see things in a deeper light, after I become financially stable; are they really there for me or the money?

sadly we won't this guy was hungry and he proved us right
There will always be a bigger better faster hungrier bull.
Make no mistake, we get older and do not have our finger on the pulse of hip hop anymore because we have grown shit to.do, so we keep.listening to whatever we grew up on AND what makes us feel chillax when we just wanna vibe out.

This track still hits my heart today, all the nostalgia and everything up to now. Still trying to make my way into the world. 😔🙏🏿
Thats the trap. Stop trying to play the game and find success on your own terms.
Hits so hard. Still does for me too. But for a different reason; it takes me back ten years ago to when I was struggling hard. And that’s when I’d put this song on. Keep working. WORK YOUR ASS OFF in anything and everything you can find. Get educated by any means necessary. Never give up. Never be defeated by your current circumstances cause it’s just a moment in time, it’s not forever. Run as fast as you can, never sit still. And eventually, little by little, you will change your life. That’s how I became successful. And all the times that I struggled around 2009, including the times I lost my job, cable got chopped, car got “totalled”, no help from anyone, rent late again no money to pay it, eating ramen and drinking ice water, I used to put this on. And sit by myself in the dark. And plot on what to do next to get out of the shit consuming my life. Then I’d get back to work to make it happen. I eventually got my Masters in Social Work. Got a great job in State Government. Met a wonderful person and got married and we built our gorgeous house. Started a family. Life got better. But I never forget where I came from. If I can do it, you can too. The true secret is NEVER GIVE UP. Give it all you have💯, all the time. Keep walking up, and Eventually you’ll reach the mountain top. Stay strong. You will be successful 💪👍

That's in his second bar from the song from time
From time
People don't really listen to this song... What he's saying is Sure.. Money, Cars, Clothes, Whores, etc sure.. I suppose.... But what is REAL success? We look and see these people who have these things and say they are Successful but really Success is what you make it.
Hell If you were broke all your life living in poverty and Man/Woman'd up to get out the way you're living that could be considered success. Building a Real Relationship with your family could be success too.
We can have these materialistic things the world has been molded to believe and not necessarily be Successful in Life. Alot of these "Successful" people that have all these things sometimes are miserable because they aren't successful spiritually or successful inside self to keep it.
Successful . Root word. Success. Which means to achieving a goal. If it's somebody's goal to have cars and clothes and they achieved it. If somebody's goal is to build their own house and they did it then their successful
u know inside thats bullshit were alll smart people that know that
Jordan Barrett not all people.. A lot of people didn't catch it and just thought it was a song about just that.. Cars, money and clothes.. Without the fact he was making a point. That's all I'm saying.
i agree
Uhh money is material and people will do anything for it, what happens even your poor and ur family get greedy ?? You have to fend for urself becuz money does rule the world.. Every whte man that's rich goes to different countries to fuck their woman without their wives finding out.. What u mean bro
I thought this was Drake’s song 🤔 either way. It’s still dope🔥 this whole era was dope
There's another version with three Drake verses, trey only on the chorus and an outro from lil wayne, i consider that the best one
All these success stories .....Im not one of them. Lost so much .....my ride.....cash....my girl. But a brother never gonna stop trying. Im stronger mentally. Im working to create another opportunity. Never quit.

Drake is nothing but an overrated stunt man, he cant even credit other artists for making HIS legacy of work. Damn near all of drakes main projects of his entire musical discography is made by kanye , 40, Jay Z, pharrell and a few other big name artists.
