liberty looking cool, it was great to see collaboration with other fabricators to help your build. Rudy is an upcoming artistic fabricator. and he is a competitor who's willing to help you out. bravo.
i can't believe with all the builds you have done and the exposure you have at each show that your RUclips channel hasn't hit 100k or more. get your sponsors to tag you more.
What tricks? I was a bit confused by his video. Some of the rules changed, but I don’t see why that would stop someone from building what they want. If I had planned to build a 2wd vehicle, I’d still show up with a 2wd vehicle and ask my friends to tow me past whatever obstacles gave me some trouble. But I also think my perspective is different because I’m the smallest channel involved. I set out to build a Liberty on 37s and I had zero expectation of winning. Winning for me is simple. Get a decent amount of votes and walk away with one of the most capable vehicles. 🤣
@@JKGearandGadgets lmao why everyone gotta go to that name… don’t vote blue maybe u should try it🤷♂️ go all red like I did! But hey everyone has opinions.. and the 1st amendment protects that! I can't wait to see it on the trail. After looking at all the ONX builds, I believe that Rudy is going to be your only competition on the rocks. As I understand it, you will not use the back hatch. I assume that it will have all the glass installed. If so, perhaps a vinyl or canvas cover that snaps in would make the on-road travel a bit more comfortable if the weather sucks.
That's how ypu know Rudy is a real friend. He has his owne very labor intensive on-x build going on and he still came and helped you out. Gotta respect the frick out of Rudy
We all hang out quite a bit. Walter and I went up to their shop last night and brought them dinner. Trevor is absolutely killing it on the wiring! Lucky I have Walter to do that….LOL
We all help each other. In truth, I’m no where near as good of a story teller as some of my peers and tend to film way less than they do. Walter and I took a lovely trip up to see Rudy, Janelle, Zach and Trevor last night and brought them some dinner since they were working late. Had to use the opportunity to visit since Sheila is being wrapped and we didn’t get her back until today. There are just so many things that simply don’t get filmed and shared (especially on my end!)…but I’m getting better at that stuff. ☺️
I love the looks of the liberties built into a off-road rig the bodies just got that look to be a pretty cool off-road 4 x 4. so why don't the portal Bros donate a set of portals to Holly to put on the Liberty then put a set of 40s on it that would be awesome
Hollie, in the last episode I watched you looked fine. But now you are looking a little exhausted. Maybe take a break? Car looks great. Still voting every day for you🚘
Wait till you see all the sheetmetal work. Long term I plan to box in the relocated fuel tank so that the cabin is once again fully enclosed. No time or budget to make that happen before SEMA, but definitely after.
The springs used in this video are for MM which is about 1,700lbs heavier. I’ve been able to purchase all the springs for Sheila on FB marketplace, but it took some time for them to arrive 😅 - trying to make sure this stays a budget build where possible…
The A, B and C Pillars used to tie into a much weaker rocker section. I have replaced the rocker with steel tubing so technically they are stronger that what was there before. The cage only goes back for 2 main reasons. To provide some overkill protection for my noggin and to add some rigidity to the structure and tie together the added suspension components. I don’t intend to put this vehicle through nasty trails. For that, I have MischiefMaker (a proper, fully caged, tub on frame vehicle). If the time comes that this vehicle rolls onto its lid, it will most likely need to be junked, so as long as safety is properly covered for the occupants for a single rollover, that’s more than adequate.
I’m curious what Walter’s background is he seems to be intensely knowledgeable and skilled, but we don’t see or hear a lot about him. It would be interesting to have a little backstory on Walter and how he got into four-wheel-drive and off-road vehicles.
Clearly don't know me. I wouldn't underestimate the power of MischiefmakerTV, friends and liberty liberty Sheila she'll be there. She doesn't drop out. we don't ever say we're gonna do things and then fall through. So I hope you're ready to see some liberty liberty action because she is almost there.
@@MischiefMakerTV at 60 years old with all my injuries it takes me 2 weeks to accomplish things that used to take me 2 days. I'm mentally struggling with that. God bless you
She was in a pretty good front end collision. Her future as a rock crawler means the chassis will only get twisted up further 😂, so not something that needs to be addressed IMO.
Not needed. This passenger vehicle was designed to keep the occupants safe in accidents on highways. I’ve reinforced it enough to ensure the driver and passenger won’t be impacted by the additional unsprung weight added by the axles and suspension components. Without an exocage (which isn’t my style) if this thing rolls, it’s headed for the junkyard anyway, and the existing A-pillar is certainly good enough to keep the passengers safe. I’ll save the nasty trails for MM!
Possibly! But easily less than every single other team with $300 LS swaps 🤣🤣 Take away several of the 'nice to haves' like ball joint deletes, beadlocks and upgraded steering and this is the only build that anyone in the country with a garage, a welder a few grinders and friends willing to work for beer can recreate (almost exactly!).
@@MischiefMakerTVreally? Don’t you have full RPM suspension and steering, JL rubicon axles, PSC steering, ball joint deletes, Reid racing knuckles, a lot of artec bracketry, 4 fox coilovers, etc. Doesn’t that all add up? Besides the costs of steel and tubing and welding supplies, etc. I could obviously be wrong. But it seems like in just axles, suspension, and coilovers your already over budget by a lot. Either way I’m very curious to see the breakdown of budget on all the competitors rigs. Seems like nearly everybody exceeded the $20,000, which kind of defeats the point of a lot of us average joes watching thinking we can make something cool like this on a low(ish) / reasonable budget.

So why is the roll cage only from the B pillar back and not to the A pillar and over the drive and passenger? But great video on the build!

I don't know much about suspension, steering, lifts, etc. What does the drag link do? Thanks.
Drag link steers the vehicle. Links the steering box to the axle.
