Thank you! I installed it successfully on my Lenovo T550 (16GB ram, 5th Gen i7) and it's absolutely flying 🔥 The only thing I've found dodgy so far is the phone hub. It connect once but can't seem to find my phone anymore 🤷🏾♂️
Booting to Windows 11 then back to Chrome OS did the trick. It's working fine now. Thanks again 💯

it is not installing virtual machine platform and ubuntu by performing command wsl --install
Update Windows to the latest version and retry. Also enable Virtualization from BIOS. Check the pinned comment.

The place where chromeos is perfectly set written in green color there is showing and when i go in forcely by applying then it show the same pop up u get at the end
Then i go to bios menu i searched for chrome os but it is showing brunch and brunch setting

I just followed the instructions and I also encountered an error Grub2win does not support ChromeOS.
But! I ignored the error, booted via Grub2win, selected brunch (even though I had named it ChromeOS in Grub) And wow, it works!

I get the above message when I assign my unallocated disk partition. I have previously partitioned my HDD to C: and D:. Now I shrink my D: and have an unallocated partition. Should I continue with yes to the above message?
You're Right-clicking on disk0. Right click on D drive.
@@Shakeuptech I did right click on the unallocated partition. I think it might be because my hdd already has 4 partitions. C, D, and two other partitions created by windows. Is it ok if I create a chromeos folder on my D: and install into that folder? I have some files on my D:. Will I lose my data if I do so? Thanks.

I have some questions
Will be glad if replied all:
1. If anycase I want to remove dual boot what is the procedure? Does it effects windows partition? Or is it same as ubuntu dual boot removal.
2. I have one ssd but thinking about getting an another ssd particularly for chromeOS My laptop has 2 nvme slots. I like 2 OS on my laptop one windows one linux/chromeOS just personal preference. What are your views on this? Do I need to buy another ssd Does it make it less hassle to install and manage chromeos. Because if you dual boot on same disks after major windows update it makes things complicated for secondary OS.
3. Incase of single SSD after installing ws10 and chromeos both on same ssd is there any hassle that I can expect while updating major windows update? like we used to have in ubuntu dual boot on same ssd.
4. At last what are time required to install chromeos on nvme and sata ssd if I make 50-80gb partitions
Dual booting Chrome OS is similar to that of dual boot Linux or other OS. You can simply delete the OS partition from Disk Management to get rid of it. For SSD its better to single boot on a SSD and then change boot order in BIOS.
Thank you. Somehow I got some problems with Ubuntu not recognising the paths (I've seen others with this problem). For me what fixed it is just reassigning the created partition another letter and restarting my system and updating Ubuntu again. Don't ask why, but it did. Great tutorial and the dual boot runs great.

Thank you! I couldn't follow the guide linked using Linux Mint or without, however I was able to follow along with the video and got the desired result. I wish in Grub2Win you could change the icon and the order of the user added boot options, however it boots into ChromeOS so I'm happy. ChromeOS still feels like if it took the whole SSD which is great.

Hey bro, one more issue, after installing chrome os same as you installed through ubuntu, created a new entry in grub2win, but after restarting and selecting brunch from boot menu, screen shows something debugging kernel and then it restarts....

If you want to dual boot, you need to re-do the process.
i wasn't able to do the bash command so I tried adding chromeos.img at the end of the path and the partitioning started but when it ended I wasn't asked to type dualboot anb there wasn't any txt file in the chrome os folder only chromeos.img

Thanks for clear video , i have succefully installed.But, after installing i went to the storage section of the chromeos setting. It shows 22.9GB and 8 gb remaining but i have only allocated 21gb to the system while partioting. What should i do now? Update the partition or leave as it is.
Try this open terminal by ctrl + alt + F2, then type root, and then resize-data, reboot. See if it helps.
Will this work with legacy Bios? I have correctly completed all the steps, after entering Grub2win and selecting brunch my laptop restarts
If your processor is supported and you use the MBR patch then maybe... Lastly, See my bug fix video on my channel and try changing kernels too.
@@Shakeuptech my file system us MBR and thanks to you I successfully installed through linux mint, but I cannot access my bios settings, I tried everything thing. Usually I can access my bios settings by pressing F2, but when I press F2 it says "Please Wait...." And nothing happens my system starts normally.. and virtualization is turned off in my bios settings.... I have tried everything to access my bios even updated bios.... Can you help me? Is it possible that someone who has G580 laptop same as mine and may be he can give me a backup of his bios and I flash that bios?

Yes its booting up, but cannot use terminal, its turned off from development options, and the turn on option is grayed out. To turn that on I have to turn on virtualization first.
Issue fixed....... Flashed old bios and it worked now I can enter bios settings. Thank you very much...

5:45 error no such file or directory
Check the folder or file name properly. Also add chromeos.img at the end while mounting.
Installed successfully but the monitor screen is flickering... is there a solution so that the normal screen doesn't flicker?

The Ubuntu terminal is in root mode.
To simplify, I created the same folder architecture as you.
However when I put the command line cd /mnt/d/downloads/chromeos/ the terminal gives me the following message
no such file or directory
I checked the path and the letter assigned to the disk that contains the Chrome OS folder.
I can't understand why the terminal can't find the folder.
Then I may have misunderstood some information

There is another program on how Grub2win does not work for me, so it was closed in Russia ( I want to install Chrome OS...

Try disabling and enabling Google Play Store from settings. Or Powerwash it once.
Hi. Can this be used on low voltage AMD Ryzen 4500U? I read somewhere else low voltage CPU cannot dual boot ChromeOS. Any other way to boot (eg: usb boot)?
Yes it can dual boot. I've done it on a 2500U chip. Check the pin comment for video.

Hello. I've tried tried this very similar method (from another RUclipsr) multiple times but with no luck. Stumbled across your video today. I'm trylng to dual boot this with Windows 11.
With a fresh install of Windows 11 and a partition of 64gb created for ChromeOS, when I try this installation it says I need gpt. I even converted the disk to gpt but each time I install Windows 11 it's back to mbr. My (older) system has a core i5 (Ivy Bridge) processor. No BIOS UEFI support, only Legacy. Will this work on my system? Your reply will be much appreciated and will grant you a sub as well. Thanks for your efforts in producing this video.
For MBR there is a MBR patch. You can give that a try.

Chrome OS to boot up 1st time? Depends but make sure hibernation and fast start up are disabled.

You have a folder named chromeos? then add chromeos.img after the folder name.
Don't install this for gaming, it only supports Intel HD graphics and nothing else.
Yeah definitely not for gaming. It doesn't support nvidia cards.

You can use a program called Unetbootin to install without USB.
@Shakeuptech Can u help please, when i tried first with the latest version all worked but i didnt get to use that shell command: F:/ \ L or sumthin like that so i couldnt get chromeos.grub.txt. Then i decided to download the version u used in the videos and got this as error all times: ''Desination path does not exist, please provide an existing path.'' I tried the latest again and then got the same error and now nothing works! I gave the partition like 29,2 gb. I have 8GB RAM which isnt a problem (Like i think so after my experience with pc's and laptops after years) And a intel core i5 and HD Graphics 4000. I hope u want to help! I'm not sure how anyone has got this to work with WSL... With Ubuntu running in WLS, I always get this error:
dd: failed to open '/mnt/d/chromeos': Is a directory
Same trying with /mnt/d
Any ideas? No idea how it worked for you. I tried with both WSL2 and WSL1.

Put chromeos.img after your partition. Like /mnt/e/chromeos/chromeos.img

@@Shakeuptech Yes I did, I am both looking in your website and video. But I already fix it. There might be a bug that Ubuntu Terminal didn't recognize the other disks. I manage to continue by watching other videos. It turns out that I can destination path in the same folder (I just don't know because I have no knowledge in linux terminal and can't google for a guide). Then, I proceed with the custom grub2win code. In the end, I manage to dual boot without any issue.
I could say that your video is awesome since you can speak English and neat video. There's just need a complete tutorial where you show the solutions to the issues that can be face. It can be to another video. Anyway, thank you.

Extract this file where the rest of the files are extracted. It will overwrite some files.
My chrome OS booted just fine. But the resolution is maxed at 1024x768. My monitor and graphics card is capable of 1080p (Intel graphics) . Any workaround?
You can try changing Kernels. While booting choose Chrome OS settings.

Play store is not working It's saying "something went wrong". And then when I click try again it's stuck at setting up Google play. What can I do?
Try rebooting the device. Or remove and add the account again.

Or go to Android Preferences and under Apps. Clear data of Play Store.

you might have accidentally press the enter button twice, in the beginning and it takes it as an input automatically.
Got through that somehow, but the last bit with grub2win dont seem to work when rebooted, gonna try a few things.
I did 300Gb instead of 30Gb. Is that the reason why it is taking so long to create partition table? It's been like 30min and still running.. 🤔
Was your partition size that big?

If it's not showing any error then let it proceed.
@@Shakeuptech I started all over again and this time with 30GB instead and it's working now. It was the Larger the partition. It take 20-30 mins for 30gb. Imagine how long it'd take for 300gb 😂 Let users know about this next time.Thanks for responding! ☺

The ChromeOS disk image has been created. If you want to dual boot this disk image with Grub2Win type "dualboot" and press ENTER. Otherwise if you want to install this disk image on a usb flashdrive / sdcard just press ENTER:

I did everything, I just didn't get the command F:/ \L but I went on anyway without errors. When I restarted I didn't get the new boot but the normal windows but I cannot log in anymore! It's stuck after I insert pin!!
After -dst in command type /mnt/e/chromeos img then your size. You can check my latest video.

It'll be in the chromeos folder of the new partition.

Chrome os is better. As its more suitable for keyboard and mouse. Also Android and Linux both works on it.

Hi, I exactly followed step by step your instruction in video and do all steps except last step that ubuntu give you this code "F:/ \L"
for me this step not showing but other lines after that in ubuntu is exact like video and the chromeos.grub in F drive without problem.
but when I restart laptop and click on Chrome OS in grubwin menu,
some code showing but the Chrome OS not start. I mean Brunch Framework Logo not showing. only some code and then restart automatically.
Bitlocker and Hibernation and fast boot is Disable and My pc doesn't have Secure boot.
Could the problem be one of the following?
1.my Bios isn't UEFI
2.my drive that Chrome OS install on it is 73 GB
3.last step that I mention before "F:/ \L"
4.I have Core i7-2670 but I install Ramus Image because can't find sammus image
5.at first I forgot to disable Hibernation and fast boot and I created grubwin menu but after that I disable it and I tried again.
where is the problem?

Yes for MBR process is a little different. And Samus image is important. You meed to fix both.

You should try volteer. Although newer gen have issues but you can try it out.

You need to double check the folder name and path. Don't use spaces

Cant move ahead of dd: failed to open '/mnt/d/party' : is a directory
Cant install recovery try with sudo
(After entering the sudo bash install chrome.... Command)
Make sure you type the name of directory and path correctly.

@@Shakeuptech yes, my fast boot and hibernation was disabled. My processor is intel i5 10th gen and nvidia gtx 1660 gpu. I have teste both rammus and volteer but the result is same 😭
Nvidia is not supported maybe that's the reason.
Bro it's showing "destination path does not exist, please provide an existing path", after the sudo bash command. But Path provided is correct. What to do?

Depends upon the partition size you chose. 50 GB could take an hour.
