You don't have to take out the Cat at all you can just remove the shielding on the passenger side and reach the starter bolt through the hole no need to mess with cat

It’s not the starter bolt that is the issue , the starter itself is embedded inside the the engine mount that needs to be removed , to do that you have to do all I did but thanks fir the tip , might work on a different car

Couple notes that might help. When you separate the cat bolts if you also disconnect the hanger a foot or so below the cat it moves out of the way easier. Secondly the bolt that needs the "magnet" is tricky to access. If you have as low profile a triple square as possible it will help. The turbo makes putting anything behind the triple square hard. That 1 bolt may be the most annoying part of the whole job in my opinion.

if I understood correctly you remove the 4 screws of the particle filter only to be able to access one of the screws of the starter, is that it?? can't we access it without dismantling the fap or in another way?? this model its B7 B8 B9 ?????

All that work for a damn starter! If you have one , get rid of it asap. 😊Trust me, I’ve replace Timing belt , and worked on battery drains, and Oil and radiator leaks. All because of the over engineered ideas. Why would you plug a cam shaft oil seal with plastic , eventually it will get hot because it’s on top of the engine and it’s pitched where the oil will leak, like why would you pitch a gutter rain water towards your house. Almost a joke , like really? Save yourself time and money. Go buy yourself a Toyota and Honda. Basic maintenance’s and you good.
