    G'day mate, I love using cow manure in the garden I dig it into the soil when making a new garden and then I use it as a thin much on top of the garden later on. My neighbor blessed me with a trailer load of cow manure just recently.
    Stay safe and God bless you guys.

    🦘🦘... Hello mate: I can only get Brunnings bags of Cow Manure. It doesn't say on the bag whether it is mature, or how it is processed or what concentration. It looks quite rich & black with no lumps. A friend put a heap in a big pot to transplant cucumber plants into, & they are now dying !!! (Adelaide: April) but the ones not transplanted are growing well. What could be causing this? For potted plants what ratio of this bagged cow manure should you use to potting mix? This bagged cow manure sure holds the moisture. Are there any plants you would not use bagged cow manure on and why? Love your knowledge. Thanks 🦘🦘...

    • @martysgarden
      @martysgarden  2 года назад +1

      Hi Jan,,that type of manure should be used at about ten to 1 in a mix. Placed on top as a mulch will get you the best results. It will leach nutritents down when you water and slowly decompose

    • @Jan-wt9rn
      @Jan-wt9rn 2 года назад

      @@martysgarden Thanks Marty, I presume you mean a ratio of: 10 to one, is 10 parts Potting Mix or soil to one part cow manure, as this brand seems quite potent. Top dressing or surface mulching with the cow manure seems a good way of letting it leach down slowly to plant roots without being on the roots. Cheers

    Which one is good for pot of flowers. Cow Manure or Mushroom Compost? Some people said cow manure can burn the plants. My pot soil is too dry.
    Many many thanks in advance.

    • @martysgarden
      @martysgarden  3 года назад

      Use mushroom around the roots and cow on top as a mulch,,mushroom will help keep your soil moist and the top dressing of cow will help with growth, flowering and improving the soil

    Hello. I’m new to planting and just wondering if I can use cow manure as a top dressing to veggies such as lettuce? Thank you.

    • @martysgarden
      @martysgarden  4 года назад +4

      Yes you can, better if it's aged a little and just placed on top or just under some dry mulch for the worms to eat. 😀

    • @martysgarden
      @martysgarden  2 года назад

      G'day, thanks for the new sub. I moved away from the compost business for the time being. However if you age cow manure you can blend it. If not let it sit on top of the soils, garden bed or pot and decompose down like it does in a paddock. Hope that helps. 😀

    Thats fantastic! Do you think its ok if its rained on? I've read in some places it washes out the nutrients but others say to let it get rained on to get the methane and stuff out and allows beneficial microbes like firefang to colonize. I'm confused now lol.

    • @martysgarden
      @martysgarden  2 года назад

      Hi Dino, it does leach some nutrients, but it's the microbes that makes it awesome. I let the rain soak in and then I feed it to my compost worms to make it even better. Have you ever considered taking on worm farming? There is nothing like it...check this out ruclips.net/channel/UCnPkv-
