Similarly my runs were targeting that ~2hr mark from all the prep and setups needed between waves.
I would have much preferred to iron this out behind the scenes but AFN made it a public thing and there was no effort made to acknowledge the work I put in to establish this as a way to complete the run.
There's a massive possibility all this could be a coincidence but with how the events played out I find it unlikely. If proof comes out that I am hugely mistaken on this I will gladly retract this video and comments I have made. Seeing as there's been no communication whatsoever, even in the conversations that was had when I talked with AFN, I doubt that's the case.

I’ve learned a lot from Joey & AFN as well. It sucks but it’s all good! I’ll still be in and around the community but won’t be actively playing or posting anything related to the game. All good things must come to an end and I am happy with how far we got 💪🏾

All this would have been avoided had there been some transparency from the go. Wouldn’t have cared if he or anyone else for that matter got it using my ideas if they’d been honest about it.

Thanks to you changed my character to assassin, put a lot of hours and after analyzing your aoi village runs, I've done my hellmode solos. So, I'm sure you've showed the way to many people including me, appreciate all your effort for the community man. Still, looking forward to your perfect hellmode solo. Cheers!

Unfortunately I will not be aiming for that perfect solo with my poison assassin. The runs are very time consuming and I don’t have the motivation to go for it again. Still I think the blueprint is there so if anyone is willing they can take a crack at it 💪🏾

This reminds me of my buddy. He and his best friend, before having children, talked about what they would name their son or daughter. My buddy said he would name a son Jackson. Several years later the best friend had a son and guess what he named him? Jackson. My buddy was pissed off and imo rightfully so. There’s an unwritten rule that the best friend violated. They’re no longer friends for multiple reasons. It ultimately showed how much or how little they valued their friendship as well as the amount of integrity a person has.
You learned a valuable lesson but nothing was taken away from you. You still have your integrity. You’re still one of the goats of Tsushima! Can’t wait to see what other games you get into!

I agree that its shit if some of your strats got stolen but thats just how its works, it was the same with nms/story/trials speedruns, theres a reason why people post their runs after reset. If you share your stuff you have to be prepared for it to be used. Just keep trying the solo and be a minute faster. 😂

Yeah I can see how much that must have stung. I hope AFN sees that it was an error to not credit you for all your work. All the labbing and simply proving it was possible is huge. My eyes nearly popped out seeing your 14.3 run several days ago.
I'm not sure if Joey should be lumped in. Crediting an uncredited person in someone else's video or pointing out that they failed to credit someone, even privately, is a confrontational move so it's a tall ask for someone who is normally so easygoing. Even though he was involved it's more understandable for him to look at it like this is between you two.
I have to say that personally, and I know it's ballsy saying this to you who has *many* World Firsts, I really don't think the "World First" label is all that meaningful on it's own. I'm not sure how unique it is, as I haven't played many games like Legends, but this is the first community I've encountered the phrase. And there is a certain fixation on it here. The technical meaning is earliest upload date. But it's really trying to be a proxy for something else like: "This is the run that proved X was possible and influenced many others". I'm not sure what that something else is, but outside of that, it's nothing more than a token which can't be taken away because it's just a number on a youtube video. So it's basically trying to be an objectively measurable label for something that can't be objectively measured: To be an influential or pioneering accomplishment.
You are clearly an extremely influential member of the community. You've certainly influenced and motivated me. That's really all "World First" could ever count for IMO. I usually just see your videos and eyes go to the "No damage" part, or whatever fucking insane bullshit you managed to pull off.
Having said all that, it's totally understandable not to want to do this challenge anymore. I'm not gonna add to the voices asking you to go for it, cause it looks boring and frustrating as hell... RNG, no margin of error, massive time sink for late failures.
I hope you get hungry for ghost again in the future, a game which will never die. But if not, that's OK too. Either way you're for sure due for a break after 2023.
As I said in the video none of these ideas, strats or builds are proprietary. We are all free to do as we please. I assumed I could share my ideas with others especially those I felt I was closely acquainted with but that wasn’t the case.
I wish well on these guys. I congratulated AFN and commended him for his efforts. I just hope this will discourage anyone from making the same mistakes I did. At the end of the day it’s all just game but I just felt I had to put my perspective out there✌🏾
You should give us that poison vanish run anyway. My first though when I was watching that afun nighmare run was that I thought dread make this run with poison vanish. I was surprised that I was somebody else even tho afun nightmare is awesome player.
I always think that you have best change to make this kind of run.
My main motivation for seeing the poison run through was to validate the strategies I’d come up with. Seeing that was done already I do not feel the need to complete the run as it’s a very time consuming, intensive & boring run to go through.
AFN is an amazing player! And I liked his approach to the run. The weightless/sticky ultimate spam combo dumbed down the max fire damage & poison/sk angle I was using which needed precise execution on the first spawns to get the speed.

i think you underestimated what some people in this game can do to get a wr. i remember watching undamaged’s training for perfect hellmode back when it was no near close to be happening, creating the 1st strategy, and yet someone else close to him that watched and supported him in every stream actually scored it instead of him, with the very same strategy undamaged made, and got praises from everybody. undamaged left the game after that. i can’t imagine what it feels like to put hours of training into something and just wake up one day and see a person you trusted made it at your place without even telling you. i hope he will credit you, maybe he just didn’t know, cause you deserve it
I think that’s where the we as a community have often failed due to our inexperience with online etiquette and creative endeavors.
It doesn’t take much to credit others. A simple sentence acknowledging their efforts is more than enough epsecially in this context. I don’t think it would have detracted from his accomplishments to make note of where he drew inspiration from.

@@crimberliesI don't know if u mean me or afn but when I got it I gave credits to u7 personally because I know he came with the hunter sticky pp7 solo strats, don't know about the other guy who got it with sticky too. And that's a different situation because he had to quit game because of his personal life which was at risk without saying too much. If not u7 would have got it way before anyone he was a better player than anyone during those days. But here with dread we can see its a different situation because he wanted to get it and retire but this whole thing happened

@@crimberliesand that’s what makes this situation grimy on AFuns part he could of made it fair game and mentioned he was going for the run as well so really they both came up with the entire strategy from point a-b on one’s own but he did not for his own gains. I wouldn’t want to be apart of a friend group like that. Clearly it was for his own gains too cause he didn’t mention the WS and sticky to dread why is that? Looking out for himself lol
Not to state that I side with anyone because there’s always two sides to a story but you do point out how competitive this game is and I think that’s really the bottom line.
From what I can gather you had been trying and developing your strat for a while and he changed it a bit right cause sticky and WS. Seeing it purely from that perspective sounds like he just beat you to it because there was nothing preventing you from getting the win other than maybe good RNG.
I will say with regards to “integrity” I find people can only agree on very clearly defined instances (glitchers in survival/story for example) but most anything else people don’t care. I’ve had issues where I felt people acted with no integrity and to me it felt like backstabbing but do people care? Not really. I don’t see the community holding others accountable for what I perceive to be their lack of integrity.
I think you’re one of the best to have ever played this game and I’ve always tried to tell others about your channel, I tell people you’re one of the best assassins around and I genuinely share the excitement of your wins because at the end of the day I find it very inspiring.
That being said, I wouldn’t have posted about this matter but I understand you had to vent. I am an extremely private person and the last thing I want is for people to see when things get to me. This is unrequested advice but I am much older than most people who play this game so hopefully it will come in handy down the line. There’s a saying in Spanish that roughly translates to “the devil knows more because he’s old than because he’s the devil” and my advice to you and anyone who follows your channel is, be careful who you show your wounds to, the rule is for people to twist the knife and the exception is for someone to have the heart to dress them.
The idea with the strategy I thought up is what made this run possible. Whether he’d done it with WS/sticky bomb or any other core build for that matter it’s irrelevant because you need the wave by wave prep to clear fast enough. The icing on the cake was the dual prep for 13/14.
I said it myself. It’s ultimately my fault for trusting people that didn’t care how much time and effort I put in to craft this run. I didn’t think competitiveness goes so far as to taking other people’s ideas and parading them as your own. I wouldn’t have been bothered by this if he’d acknowledged me for putting in the work that he was able to copy and benefit from.
It’s interesting I’ve been getting feedback to try resolve this privately when I was wronged in public. I’m a private person too but I feel like I had to speak out for myself after being treated unfairly by a person I thought was a peer.
I watched both videos and unfortunately I come to the same conclusion that many in this community will do what they want even backstab you and take ideas as their own. They can claim all they want that the plan was "logical" and come to their defense but these people are also a very big problem in this community. I been a part of even scummier communities before this game and even they gave credit for strategies.

Totally neutral stance here but I feel like barrel strats are just common knowledge of what it takes for any perfect solo to be achieved with a class other than hunter. No other class has the same nuking power so if anyone were to attempt it seriously they’d be using barrels like that. There’s no other way.
Also, players piggyback off others strats and ideas all the time and I see nothing wrong with that. All of us have learned from other players one thing or another.
Talking about giving credit where it is due, I was the one who started the undamaged movement in this game and you and other players piggybacked off the concept and progressed with it without giving credit to the inspiration where it originated. Same case with the all blue gear run and other ideas but it’s no big deal that you used them and we don’t feel as if you took our cake and ate it lol. So giving credit should go both ways and it shows humility.
If anything you should feel proud that you inspired another player with your ideas and strategies to accomplish a cool feat. Sure, I know you wanted to get it first and that’s understandable (who wouldn’t) but I guess it just seems these aren’t things we can claim a right to as you said they aren’t proprietary. Doesn’t take away from the fact that both of you are good players and surely you could have done it too if you wanted to put in the grind for it. If I were you and it means that much to you I’d go back in and grind out a win but do it for yourself and nothing more.
i personally would feel really cringe comparing a long worked out idea that got stolen to a idea that got inspired from and developed it to 5 levels higher.

However, if your comparison did make sense then explain to me why no one ever did undamaged runs before the game died. None were done until 2 yrs after legends released unlike in Fromsoft games where they are being done within a week after release. That’s because before they started happening in this game, no one thought it possible until proved otherwise.

I haven’t been active on ghost since we all did that no hit trio on aoi so I’m not certain of what’s been going on while I’ve been away so I won’t act like a know it all but I do want to give my input since I’m friends with both of you.
I understand your side of the story, the frustration of not getting the world’s first assassin hellmode solo especially when you’re renowned for being one of, if not, the best Sin. But I also don’t think AFN stole your strat and that this is a miscommunication. I was watching him through a share screen back in about May or June do some Samurai solos for hellmode using the same build he did his Sin run with. He also discussed with me/did the barrel strats saying if he’s gonna do this he always needs a shit load of barrels & good spawns. When I asked him the other day why he switched & did it with Sin he said it was simply because the Sin’s ult is safer. So i don’t believe he stole your strat especially when he’s been using barrels for the perfect solo’s hes gotten on nmsv. I understand your frustration and how this can all get miscommunicated so I’m not taking any sides or saying anyone’s in the right or wrong. Idk every detail either I’m just giving my input based off what I personally know.
I will say that it’s hard to want/take credit for many things in this community though. I’ve done many things for the first time or found many things that no one knew but now everyone in the community knows. A few small examples was finding the safe spots for every zone on every map back when I did the world’s first runs for hellmode but I never got credit for it. Joey & I figured out the usual strat to duo b&s hellmode perfectly the 1st time but we didn’t get credited when future players did the same strat. There’s more but I personally never cared for any credit or even attention hence my channel & videos are private. I’m just giving an example of how it’s just how things can go either way. People see ways to do things and will try it themselves, if they end up doing it & succeeding then I think that’s good for them.
Idk im rambling im just typing off the dome as im at work but i hope you guys resolve this and work it out. We all gotta stay together & as friends 💯

I mean giving credits goes both ways TBH.. adam started the undamaged series, yall developed it further to suit your play style fpr p7. He even made a how to accomplish undamaged run video way before yall even started. N im sure u watched it because the posted timelines proves it. n he never got the credit from yall. Same is the case for the idea of blue gear solo. But adam never complained about it. These kind of behavior is normal in the gaming community where people scapegoat an idea to be their brainchild without even acknowledging and respecting its origin.
Top subscribed gamers like ephicplays were respectful enough to give adam a shoutout for using his build as an inspiration thats why he has such a huge fanbase. But not everyone has the ethical morals to do it. They only talk about it when it doesnt suit them or favor them, other times they are quietly using it for their gains.
Iv had disagreements with top players but i still respect them.. i agree with jusafuto this time that its just unfortunate for you that AFN beat you to it.
barrel strategies are pretty common knowledge we have been using the edge barrel placement strategies for a long time.
All id say is we know you are one of the best players who can still do it. Just don't give up because someone else did it before u did.. still complete your goal and we will support u.. have fun and complete the run man.
