- With the release of Deadpool and Wolverine, the third installment in the Deadpool franchise, making it's way to theaters I decided to rewatch all of the solo Deadpool and Wolverine movies to see how well they've held up over time. As the final chapter in the 20th century fox superhero movies comes to a close as these characters make their way into the MCU, I've decided to give these characters a bit of a send off. Yes, MoM had more of a story but it should've had more "multiverse" in it. The Illuminati was awesome to see but I think they could've done more with them or had more variants. Wanda suddenly being bad didn't make sense after Wandavision, if they had a 5 minute sequence of her finding the darkhold and being corrupted by it then it would've been fine. Tbh I think the title just overhyped it because it wasn't really "madness" @KombatGod

One of the greatest ever? Nah man. For that to be true, you need damn near perfection in every aspect. The girl who plays Laura is overbearing and annoying as shit. Absolute dog shit choice for the role. The main villain is piss poor at best. So piss poor they needed an excuse to make a clone of Wolverine. (Which I like, just btw.) Some of the dialogue seems to be there, just to be there. Like Logan being a complete dick for no reason. Just to show how solum and off he is now. The movie is a solid 8-8.5. So a very good movie, but they sold on some aspects.

@@boozeclues1787Daphne Keen was great and played the role of a mutant girl who was terribly abused and raised in a lab with no love quite well. There's no way anyone would be willing to trust anyone right away, especially old man Logan, who is a dick. But it's not like that came out of nowhere, Logan has never been nice it's only the X-Men who he feels comfortable around, and as he's gotten older and lost friends he no longer has any reason to be happy or nice

Same! The movies doesn't take itself seriously and knows it; it's there to make us laugh and did it well. The opening scene is hilarious with '' Bye bye '' while Wade kills guards, Dog-pool is funny, the other Deadpools have cool designs (Cowpool, Kidpool and Knightpool for exemple) The songs were perfect, the ambiance was fun, the action too especially the car scene. 8|10 I liked this movie and will definitely watch it again 🙂

He didn't want Logan's adamantium. He was harvesting his bone marrow for his healing factor. Hence the little drills after he chopped Logan's claws off. The Wolverine comment
Dude, Yashida wasnt stealing Wolverine's adamantium. Like, what? He cut off Wolverine's claws to get to his bone marrow. He was getting Logan's DNA to take his HEALING FACTOR. That's what makes him younger. He already had his own Adamantium, that's what the Silver Samurai body and sword were made of

I was a longtime fan of Deadpool in the comics before the first movie, and I'm so glad Deadpool and Wolverine got made the way it was. It's like it was written as a love letter to fans.

Logan reminds me of The Last Of Us, How Joel and Ellie went from hating each other to loving each other like family (even though Logan and Laura are blood related) but Logan does it 10x better in my opinion.

The Wolverine is one of the most underrated comic book movies ever made. Nobody talks about it but it’s got way more care and attention to detail than most.

It’s all in presentation. The movie looks and feels boring along with the fact that Hugh Jackman is the only member in the cast that seems to actually give a crap while everyone else gives a performance drier than well done steak. It’s painfully average especially when compared to Logan or the Deadpool trilogy.

I’m pretty sure Ryan has shot down any rumors of a 4th solo movie however his character and the new Logan variant is set up nicely to return for Secret Wars and projects like that where Ryan and Hugh won’t have to spend as much time dedicated to the project
The Wolverine is an extremely underrated movie imo. The worst part is the Third Act, but everything else is great.

It wasn't the adamantium that the silver samurai was after it was the marrow in his bone claws to get at the DNA
Honestly, Logan, Deadpool, and Deadpool and Wolverine defs deserve to be S-Tier in my Opinion, i fanboy over the movie 3 days after seeing it 2x in 3D
Let the hype pass and you'll see it's not so great.. pretty funny and entretaining yet it's below Deadpool 1

@@zahleercombat in the new movie blows away the combat in any other Deadpool movie. Story might not be as great as the other 2, but it makes up for it with cameos and the action which is about half the movie. Plus the chemistry between Wolverine and Deadpool is a lot better than the chemistry he had with both Cable and Colossus. Overall this movie is more fun than the other 2, might not be as deep as them but we don’t need Deadpool movies to be deep
@@jamesschenck3786 I disagree, the best combat scenes are Wolverine vs Deadpool...other scenes don't do it better than Deadpool 1. So far as cameos, I don't think they serve a real purpose..in Deadpool one they appear as actual characters that we meet not just appear because they look cool (blade,elektra). Even jokes are better in Deadpool 1. Let's just wait and see if it happens just like with No way home, people now agree that the movie isn't as great as they experienced on the big screen.
@@zahleer I never said the jokes are better in this movie because they really aren’t. And yes the best scenes are Wolverine vs Deadpool, but the massive Deadpool army fight scene was epic as well. And the cameos serve no real purpose as of now, but who’s to say they can’t be added to the avengers movies down the line, it clearly seems like everyone enjoyed the “forgotten” characters they brought back

Yo. I just found this video and it’s great. I subscribed. Also Deadpool and Wolverine are coming back. We’re gonna see them in either Doomsday or Secret Wars and Ryan will probably stay as Deadpool after secret wars but I don’t think Jackman will stay past that

That's a fair list. Personally, Deadpool 1 is my least liked of the Deadpool movies, but I love it too. But Cable, Domino, Juggernaut, and the jokes just hit better for me.
Wolverine Origins is a guilty pleasure, too... it's certainly near dead bottom, but I would place The Wolverine last for being boring. I'll take the entertaining cheesiness from Origins over a snooze film.

i think the whole healing factor stealing in the wolverine is supposed to be him drilling into his bone marrow to get whatever gets his healing factor (still doesnt really make sense), and not him stealing his adamantium. his suit is already made out of adamantium, so why would he need to take logans

Deadpool & Wolverine is a fun fanservice-filled popcorn flick but it's nowhere NEAR being a great movie. It's insane to me how people are saying this is one of the best movies of all time, I mean... no. Just no. Its cameos are fun and the action is great but beside those the film is the blandest thing ever, just a bad guy trying to destroy the universe and the hero stopping them. Period. Even previous "fansevice" movies such as No Way Home or Endgame used their fanservice to tell a cohesive story, giving each cameo a reason to exist within the plot other than just being there and winking at the camera! Heck, the same applies to cameos in previous DP movies!
It's like Deadpool & Wolverine is a great IDEA for a movie, but it's not a movie! Like when we all read about Deadpool officially entering the MCU, and the two heroes teaming up, and then having all these characters make cameos, we all went "YES PLEASE!" but then the movie just literally does that with no depth whatsoever: Deadpool literally simply steps into the MCU, he then plucks a Wolverine from a random universe and teams up, then all these characters make a cameo and then the film's over. I'm baffled.

D&W is like really fun, catchy song that you just play on repeat for days. Just peak entertainment. Going to watch it for the 2nd time soon and will probably gonna go one more time after, while it's still in theatres. And Logan was like really emotional song that moves you. Great, but for me personally, something that I rewatched only after a few years.
I think both movies deserve an S, but just in different categories. Which is the case if you look at them as just regular movies. Yes, they're both super hero films, but one's an action/comedy and the other is action/drama.
I feel like if you put one above the other, it's really over a preference in genre rather than anything else. I honestly don't think it can really get much better for comedy/action than D&W - especially in super hero sub-genre, so it's strange not to put it in top tier of what it is.

I always thought Origins was a great film. Nothing fantastic, but nothing absolutely horrible. It’s entertaining and has some pretty great scenes. I love goofy superhero movies, and it’s nostalgic for me

Your sizing up of the Logan film was spot on. The black and white version was even better, and I don't have the kind of devotion to black and white films and photos that some people have.

Great take!, just watched it with my friends and we literally had the time of our lives while watching.
Me and a group of friends went to go see Deadpool and wolverine and it was definitely the most fun I had in a theater. It was a blast throughout the entire movie. I never laughed so hard in a theater until this movie. But it also had some good genuine moments like the scene where Logan just completely goes off on Wade or when he sits down and opens up about his past to Laura. In all honesty I think Hugh gave his absolute best performance here. Now don’t get me wrong he did great in Logan but I feel that he was able to show more range in emotion here. All around great film. Don’t know if it’s the best Deadpool movie but it’s still really frikin good and I can’t wait to find an excuse to watch it again.
The Wolverine is higher for me. A+ or S- for me

After my first viewing, I placed DP&W a very, very close 3rd to the first 2 films -- the second being on top (Theatrical only, miss me with the Super Duper Cut). After several rewatches, I think it's on equal footing if not better. The plot may be threadbare, but so was the plot for the first two. DP movies have never been about plot. The first was a revenge movie where Wade subverts the usual ending where "vengeance never pays." The second's plot was all over the place, from Wade processing his grief, to wanting to do right by Firefist, to the eventual conflict with Cable, and then teaming up to stop Firefist from becoming his future self.
This trilogy has always been defined by Ryan's performance, and the team's love for Deadpool and the Fox Marvel franchise. And this movie was a fitting farewell to that franchise.

I agree, but I think that Deadpool is one of the only flawless superhero trilogies. The only other one is Captain America.

C - Mangold's The Wolverine (I hated that third act more than you, because I love Silver Samurai)
F - Origins

Before watching Deadpool and Wolverine I watched the following movies in the following order:
The Wolverine
Deadpool
X-Men Days of Future Past
Deadpool 2
Logan
There is a certain magic to the watch order and skipping origins and adding Days of Future keeps the same amount of Wolverine but gains a bunch of good cinema I will note that some of the Deadpool 2 jokes hit better after Logan but Logan is always fresh in my mind so I lost nothing.
Bonus: Deadpool 2 is a warped version of Logan make a list of all the major happenings of Deadpool 2 without using character names and see where you can connect the dots
Deadpool and Wolverine where the best movie of 2024 iguess its the best that has come outs to the no way home movie
DP3 is an example for Marvel on how to stay true to your characters and respect the previous movies they came from. Truly a movie produced by Ryan Reynolds himself because unlike a lot of recent Marvel movies this one has so much love and care in it.

I think the bigger issue was having to pay Chris Evans a lot to be in that role. Chris was probably fine with spending 2 or 3 days on set filming some scenes for cheap, but making him live longer would have meant that it would have forced them to pay him his normal rates (Which are very expensive). He honestly lasted longer than I expected so I am actually really happy with how it turned out!

The way Deadpool came up with his name in the movie pays respects to the way he got his name in the comics.
My guess on why Silver Samurai was able to heal with Logan’s adamantium even though it’s his mutant gene that affects the healing is because the adamantium was before fused with his skeleton and/or fused with his gene somehow. It’s not really just the adamantium that heals but it’s actually the adamantium that was fused with Logan’s mutant gene
