    Yes!! I totally agree! I am a marketing professional and I just started working for client for the past 3 years. It's only just now that I realized I want to work on making brand operations more sustainable and to create more sustainable habits. Marketing afterall is about changing habits. I hope to be able to learn more about this and find an opening for such job!

    Nestle has safety, health, and environmental departments in their factories. I like your environmental entrepreneurial mindset but respectfully you don't have to necessarily create a product to make a difference for the environment. Even joining a company committed to sustainable business practices you can make a difference with packaging, landfill diversion, water and energy conservation, and in many more ways

      For sure! Sustainability thinking happens at every point in a product's life cycle, right!? Cradle to Grave (from the earliest days of making to the final days of use, and reuse/recycling/disposal). That means, everyone plays a part, and every effort, at every point, matters. Thanks!

      A really good understanding of the entire value chain for the business they are in... and really good communication & project management skills. Sorry, that's three :)

    Hi, totally liked your video, very informative. I am a doctor who has worked in a hospital. i am a entering my 40's. I always had a interest in environmental issues. I want to shift to a career in sustainability. I am very confused as I have no business acumen. Should i start with a MBA degree? Is it too late ?what else can i do? Any suggestions?

    • @theunderswell
      @theunderswell  2 года назад

      Sorry for the late reply, but I think that depends on what industry. Because a career in sustainability can be had in most any industry. Sustainable fashion? Sustainability in architecture and building? Sustainability in tech? Sustainability in the automotive industry? Heating & Cooling? Energy? See where I'm going with this...I think choose your industry, then pursue sustainability.

    Is there anything you specifically get out of a sustainability studies major?

    • @theunderswell
      @theunderswell  4 года назад +3

      Of course! Expertise in a field. That said, it also depends on where you want your career to go. For me, I love brands, operations, marketing, product development, and strategy - but at a company dedicated to doing things better, more sustainable. That said, it made sense for me to get an Art Degree, then an MBA, and then learn sustainability along the way. Studying sustainability or environmental studies specifically, would have put me on a totally different path...Hope that helps. :)

    Thank you for this video. I am a business student interested in sustainability and business. I am unsure how to merge my interests into one. I have seen a few suggestions on storytelling and photography but that and starting a business are the only options i see for Business and artsy students. What other options can you suggest for me?

    • @theunderswell
      @theunderswell  2 года назад

      Hi Beatrice - consider the marketing side of things. There are agencies and groups like composedcreative.com/ and www.thinkparallax.com/ who are doing purpose-driven work and who's business is built on creativity :) And of course get inspired by all that's at bcorporation.net/
