This was great, you have a very calming and friendly personality and I enjoyed the creative shots and the healthy work structure. Very insightful as to the day to day life of an environmental consultant working within covid times. Really appreciate it, thank you.
Thank you for your kind feedback - Glad that sharing my day was insightful for you. You should view my video: Day in a Life - My First Environmental & Energy Audit for 18 months since COVID-19 at ruclips.net/video/UY9swowbHA8/видео.html, where I share my first audit since COVID-19 and my McDonald's breakfast habit.
I am in my mid-30's trying to switch field to Environmental Consulting, and I was so happy to find your channel! Thank you for putting in ALL your daily tasks and endeavors, it gives a more raw, real look at what one can expect, rather than a corporate sponsored promotional video. Love that hot Cocoa! 😆
Good luck with the switch to Environmental Consulting - Great that you enjoyed the "Day in the Life of an Environmental Consultant" video. I am planning more videos on the theme of being an environmental consultant later in the Autumn, so you may want to catch-up on these videos later in the year. In the meantime, there is another video on work as an Environmental Consultant, check out "Day in a Life - My First Environmental & Energy Audit for 18 months since COVID-19".
I am applying for Masters in Environmental Management at UK. I wish to work in a consultancy in future. Thank you for this video. Its keeping me inspired.
I am glad that my video has given you inspiration. I wish you good luck for your Masters in Environmental Management and your search for a career in consultancy.
Hello Andrew, I must say what a great video! I'm a graduate in International Development studies with a focus in Environmental Studies and I am doing some research on what the job may look like and I came across your video! Really great work and helps me envision my future! :)
Good to hear that you are looking to develop your personal passion for the environment into a post-graduate qualification. I hope that my RUclips channel can help you in your goal to complete your Masters in Environmental Science.
I want to make a career in environmental and sustainability consulting. This video certainly inspires me to take up a career in the field. I am going to pursue a Masters in this field soon.
Great to hear that you are looking to develop a career in environmental and sustainability consulting. I hope that my RUclips channel can help you in your goal to pursue your Masters in the field.
Great video as always. Personally, I make the bed first thing so I know that I've completed one task before the day actually starts and the caffeine starts to kick in
This is quite inspiring to know how you manage your day. Its also great to know that you chose to share your time for entertainment watching a movie also as a learning experience. Smile more in your upcoming videos please... it looks good on you... I am fan of your videos sir. Please keep making more of these
Lovely video, opened my eyes in your field as I plan to take a postgraduate degree on Environmental Management and Sustainability here in Australia as a change of career. Because of your remote work, how do you do the inspection of flora and fauna and land site assessment?
Great to hear that you are following your passion by planning to take a postgraduate degree on Environmental Management and Sustainability as a career change. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have restricted my consultancy to a remote work only, such as carbon accounting, remote audits and other activities that I can complete in my Home-Office. Going forward, I anticipate that I will be more engaged in site-based work, which will cover ecology assessments of flora and fauna and land site assessment, & will involve a whole different level of working with my clients and other environmental professionals.
Glad you like I hope to update on my environmental career in further videos later this year, so ensure that you are subscribed and receive notifications.
Amazing video, Andrew! It definitely clarifies how an environmental manager operates and carries out his duties. I'll shortly be through with an CIEEM accredited MSc course called Environmental Management and Ecology from Hope University in Liverpool. Since I lack experience in this field I would appreciate some advice on how to find an internship or graduate position just to start my career.
Thank you for your feedback. Gaining experience can be a problem - Partly, it will depend on whether you are aiming for a general environmental role or a specialism, such as EIA, contaminated land or ecological surveys. Your University will be able to give some general and specific advice about career options. You may want to see what options are available for an internship / graduate position with the larger consultancies, such as WSP and ERM, if you plan to work on national or multinational projects. The Environment Agency may have graduate positions and internship opportunities across a range of environmental disciplines. You can find out more from environmentagencycareers.co.uk/careers/early-careers/ Additionally,, CIEEM has a jobs page on their website that may be useful at cieem.net/ecology-and-environmental-management-jobs/ Good luck with the MSc course
This is a great video! I am currently finishing my Bachelor's in environmental management and am particularly interested in how you apply new national requirements and standards to the reports? 😊
Glad that you found the video useful. My future videos will cover ISO Standards and legislation, so I hope that you will subscribe for this content. Good luck with your degree in Environmental Management.
We all have our strengths and weaknesses. For many mathematics can be difficult to relate to. If you have a real love for environmental science then make that your strength.
Phenomenal video, as someone who is very interested in the field, I posses a B.S. in Biology and hope to pursue a Masters in Environmental Consulting. I was always curious if the career was worth the salary and if it is ever an extremely stressful job?
Glad that you enjoyed the video. Salaries in the environmental and sustainability sector are good with many companies offering good packages. There can be stress with any career option, but the environment has less stress than many other options
Hi! I’m currently in my last year of uni, hoping to do masters in environmental consultancy. As part of a course I need to spend 10 hours or more gaining skills, that would be needed in my future job. Does anyone have any idea of what I can do? Thanks to anyone who has time to answer, not sure where else to ask.
Glad the video gave you, an insight into environmental consultancy. You might want to approach either, the Environment Agency, environmental consultancies or a local environmental charity, such as Groundwork - www.groundwork.org.uk/ or www.environmentjob.co.uk/volunteering for internships or Volunteer roles to gain further skills. Hope some of the above helps in finding a opportunity to enhance your skills. Good luck with your final year.
Hi. I would like to get my foot in the door as an environmental advisor. I have an unrelated degree though. Would taking certificates in Environmental sustainability be taken seriously? Thank you
Good point - I have known many friends and colleagues, who have made the transition from a non-environmental academic qualification or career. In the UK, the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) offer options for courses in environmental and sustainability especially those leading to Associate, Practitioner or Member level, which are well respected by employers. Additionally, work experience, either with an existing employer on an environmental project or volunteer work, can help to demonstrate your commitment to a career in the environmental and sustainability field. Good luck with your future career options.
@@EMSmastery Hi. Thank you for your reply. I have also been looking into ecologist careers. Do you know of any pathways into this line of work that doesn't include a degree. I currently work on a care farm with down syndrome people. A small part of the job is looking after a tiny nature reserve. I just don't have qualifications or theory of ecology
Great to hear of your academic achievement of a MSc in Environmental Sciences. I hope that my videos have been useful to you. Best wishes for your future.
My "Day in my Life" video is an accurate timeline of a typical day in my environmental and sustainability business. Since before the COVID-19 pandemic, I had moved my business to remote working, which meant that I did not have long-days for consultancy projects. You are right that billable hours and overhead costs need to be controlled & has the founder / owner, I have in control of these business aspects. I am, fortunate, to have clients who recognise the value that I bring to their business in a true "win-win" model.

Hello sir pl tell job perspective in after pursuing msc in environment science in canada
You have made a good suggestion - I will look to developing a series of videos on employment options in the environment field in 2021.
I possess a Master degree in Environmental science.
Great to hear of your academic achievement of a MSc in Environmental Sciences. I hope that my videos have been useful to you. Best wishes for your future.
This is a lie, a normal consulting day is nothing like this. Please talk about billable hours, overhead costs, long field days, low pay, etc.

are you a single man?
Such an irrelevant question
