The new Barbie Dreamtopia Mermaids (2022) are out and first up is miss Daisy! 🎀🌼 I will review her and give her some new looks in my lookbook ofcourse! The hair fiber is polypropylene.
I really don't like it. It's not the cheapest hair, but it's low on the list. Most Barbies use Saran, and OMG and rainbow High dolls use a high quality nylon.

I thought it was low quality Nylon hair? The only thing I like about that stiff hair is that you can use curling or straighting iron on them.. at low temp
For those looking for a skin match for this mermaid🧜♀: as somebody mentioned below, the closest match is Yoga M2M Millie face with a blonde high ponytail, tie-dye pants, and lilac top. I thought the dark-skinned soccer MTM was, but it wasn't😞(plus, it's difficult to find and expensive).
I used the most current Yoga M2M body and it’s a perfect match 👍 She’s the Millie face with blonde high ponytail and pastel fashion.
She's so Kawaii! Mattel also made ones with blue, and purple hair. The blue hair mermaid has the Brooklyn facemold, and the purple hair mermaid has the Generation Girl Tori facemold which is really exciting, since I don't own many dolls with Tori's facemold.
Tori is a rare face mold. It’s not used much
@@brianaguilar8283 The same goes for the Skipper and Christie face mold. I sometimes mistaken the Kira face sculpt for Skipper, and Christie for Asha, or the 90's Teresa.
I just picked up Daisy along with the entire Mermaid Power set today! I do love my Mermaids but I gotta say you made her look so FABULOUS!
They should call you the Teflon Tamer - Wow, that hair is so beautiful to look at, but what a chemical concoction nightmare to deal with. You seem to always find a way to make the girls cover ready no matter what Mattel serves up. By the end of your videos you are always dishing out magical magnificence of expert magnitude - that is what we love about you Arjen. Your videos are always so entertaining as they are humorous and touching and current and the hero always wins in the end! Our Hero - Barbie!!! Thank You for All That You Do - and SO WELL!!!
I feel like you made an important point in this video. I think the people who complain and hate on Barbie, forget that the dolls they're complaining about, are targeted towards children🤷♀️
Yes, but we also remember when we got dolls with more details as kids. A doll for water play is different, and there is always a need for budget dolls, but there are a lot of horrible cost-cutting measures on Barbies at all levels. The quality control is also bad. I still buy Barbies, but I do feel the loss, even though there have also been some gains.

I disagree with the excuse that we should excuse poor quality in barbie because she's marketed towards kids. Well, she was ALWAYS marketed towards kids, from 1959 onward, but she had good quality back THEN. Once the creator Ruth handler died in the early 2000's, the quality slowly began to decline. We played with quality Barbie's as kids. The market for the product hasn't changed, so why should the quality? I love barbie, but it's sad to me how the quality declines with each year that goes by.😥

So true about the quick to dry aspect. I'm not a collector, just enjoy barbie videos (especially yours) and use them to think about what to buy my daughter (4). She looooves her mermaid barbie who lives in our bathtub. Barbie has a mermaid daughter (colour reveal Chelsea mermaid) who is less articulated "because she's still little and not as good at swimming". Mermaid barbie spends her time in the bath washing her hair, making alchemical experiments with soap, rescuing her little brother's duckie, who's always drowning... basically if the hair wasn't polypropylene we'd have a serious mold issue by now.

I love her face and glancing eyes. Great makeover. My favorite look is the first one. I wanted this doll to replace the original Daisy Pop fashionista head I have on a curvy made to move body, so I'm disappointed that her hair is not as nice. Actually, I think she might be too light for that body. Oh well, I might get her anyways.
Daisy pop has way better hair indeed, so that’s a thing to keep in mind indeed 🥲 Daisy pop is much more tanned, so you need a lighter skintoned mtm body for her!

🥳Yayyy, now I know what to do with that mtm pink top Barbie I have!!! Amazon Germany says this mermaid will be available at the end of May. I really prefer the Daisy face with the side glance over the one with the straight look. As ever it's a joy to watch and rewatch your videos.😄💙👍🏻

Sometimes it's easy to forget that toys are designed for kids. I personally prefer a removable mermaid tail and fabric top, but for a child playing in the bathtub, plastic might be much better. She's still adorable and deserves her transformation to a land person to meet her prince or princess.
