It was good for the era... Sounds like it would have fit in on crazy nights

With a few lyric changes, this would be great 80s commercial song

Cue Miami Vice soundtrack. I've heard this before. Nice gem by Paul. Nice tasty solo. Does anyone who performed the solo? If this song is from 1987, how is it intended for his Solo Album from 1978? (Unless you flipped the numbers?) While there is too much synth he was clearly aiming for the ear of his female audience. Guys will still listen to the song with the girls because, you know...

I don't think this was for his solo album. Too late for 78 and too early for the Live To Win stuff.
This feels like a demo that didn't make the Crazy Nights album. Has similar sound to a couple of other tracks from that, and the year matches.

This is cleaned up demo. Seriously, I had the original demo on Limewire 20 years ago and it sounded like schmidt.
This turned into Reason To Live

      It was written for Cher

Ugggggggggg!!! Bad 80s montage song. This is the guy who wrote GOD OF THUNDER! There's a reason it was never released. Part of the keyboard part is Reason to live.

You know it’s bad if it couldn’t even make it on Crazy Nights!

This was never intended for Crazy Nights. It was part of a group of demos recorded to ship to several artists for publishing opportunities....including Cher.

    Meanwhile, AC/DC never sold out.

They probably would have made it anyway but KISS took AC DC on their first tour which introduced them to a lot of people. And the they sold out comment has always baffled me. They don't punch a time clock somewhere and do KISS on the side. KISS is their job. So yeah you want to sell out every night! Did they make some mistakes because of it? Depends on a persons taste. The Elder is loved and hated. Unmasked isn't a popular album but it's one of my favorite. I used to say that same thing myself like when Metallica Black album came out I thought it was trash and I still won't listen to anything past And Justice For All but the Black album was huge. I was also 18 back then and didn't have the understanding of things I do now. Anyway I don't mean any disrespect, you are entitled to your own opinion just as I am. I like AC DC , not as much as KISS but they are a damn good band.

Depends on what you call selling out. Of course AC/DC never did, but Kiss is heavily-debatable, except for maybe the Elder album (which is still a good album either way). To me, you sell out when you compromise your vision just to fit in. Kiss had a very small period where you could actually say they did that. The rest is just them having fun and playing around with new sounds and evolving with the times. It's just like Metallica--after Kill em All, they were pretty outspoken about not wanting to make the same record twice and to distance themselves from just being another thrash band. Worked GREAT for them

True. But 95% of other bands did as well

Horribly cheesy lyrics with incredibly dated synth music. Glad it stayed on a cutting room floor.
