It's always good to see an old friend.
The kind of old friend that you never forgot about even though life took you on totally distinct paths.
Joe Locke was, is, and will always be a friend and a brother.
We go far back to high school together and during the early to mid 70s, I was his bass player. My name is Gamaliel, he just called me "Papo".
From 1972-1977, it was the best time of my musical life for me. I left for the Army, he went on to greatness.
I, for once, have an appreciation for this social media thing. I can see an old friend and spend some time with him. As much time as I like listening to his music again and again.
Thanks Joe.
Gamaliel.."Papo".
❤
awesome!
Kenny Washington is the real deal! Only he should be allowed to scat!
definitely !!!
What a great performance and joy together!
Fantastic...great showmanship!!!!!
Nice, made the 8K. Thanks all! Great music meets great people.
Joe Locke rocks! But the drummer is the one who comands! 😎 We change the rythm when I WANT! 😎
So amazing the music work hear over and over again what a combination of music, voice, grockenspiel, piano and many others standard. Bring so much enjoyments especially this song of Bill Withers. I play with heart as well.
Great music and musicians!
Really have a great tone/ vibe vocal. More to hear from him. Great quartet master J. Locke.
Greetings from Jazzman Kuala Lumpur.
This is great!
Fantásticos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not to go against the title of Billy Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine", but vibraphonist Joe Locke provides all the musical sunshine needed to brighten up anyone's given day!

Sick rythm section the vibes were on point
But what a dynamic rhthym section exploring the spaciousness and. Pushing. Angles imbuing the rhythm with a super powered drive
Great performance ! ! !
Hey Joe, Nadia, long time no see, and great to hear such a fantastic rendering of one of my favourite songs. Love you guys.
Thanks so much Godfrey. Joe sends love, too. Been a while since we saw you. 2012 at Pizza for Locke/Keezer, right?
Hope you're doing well. x
Good memory Nadia, and we're still listening to Signings very often. Hope to sell the business next year then will have more time for music.
wooooooow!!!!!!!
Methinks that Bill Withers would approve of this rendition.....
Ooops. THANK YOU !
bellissimo

That white boy can play the blues for real… lol
What type of mallets are you using?
They're his signature mallets. Just look up Joe Locke on Steve Weiss and they should pop up.
I asked Gary Burton the same question and his answer was whatever you can afford
