Great video thanks. A question I have and haven’t found the answer to is how to quickly and easily align several parts of a design to the centre or base etc. Example: several objects a sphere, a cube and cylinder, all aligned to the centre rather than tweaking with the gizmo? These thanks!

Not sure how to answer that. Can you give me a more specific example, like what kind of object are you trying to make. I could show how to use the radial symmetry tool possibly, but I would need a better idea of what you are trying to sculpt. (ex. tire tread, spokes, ball on a string.) Any process in Nomad can usually be done several different ways. This sounds intriguing, let me know.

@@Original-Werks Great sounds good, I’d be interested in watching. In terms of making something, nothing in mind as of yet sorry, just in terms of being able to align objects to a common point. So they are all aligned centrally, or to the left face or bottom face if you see what I mean? Like you can do I’m adobe illustrator or photoshop, I understand it is a 3d object and space, but it should be doable I’m sure. Otherwise things get out of alignment and then doesn’t look great as one side shows more than the other etc. as I’m writing I just thought of an example. Perhaps a spear, so the central pole/shaft would be the “centre” with perhaps ornaments and hand guards or grip wraps or similar but all these things would need to be aligned to the centre of the pole/shaft of the spear. Not explaining it very well sorry! 😅

I understand now. Usually how you want to go about keeping alignment with objects is to use the top GIZMO menu. Go down to where it says move to origin. (with object that you want everything aligned to selected in the scene menu or it will be greyed out) Then you can send other objects to the scene origin as well and use the gizmo to slide in one axis or another to place. (like a spearhead at the end of a shaft. Ornaments can be sculpted, slid out to edge of shaft, then use the radial repeater to copy around a central point. The grip wrap is easier, can be done several ways, the simplest is to use the tube tool and set snapping (magnet symbol in menu) to half and wrap the spear. The points will snap to the surface at each point you drag. There are several different processes here that you are discussing. Since this is 3D and not 2D the snapping and alignment work different in relation to the surface you are working on. I may do a video on this, several good points for teaching here. Have a good time with Nomad Sculpt, it is very robust. You just need to know where to find that checkbox or button to get it to do what you want. Hope this helps.

@@Original-Werks that’s fantastic thanks for your reply, I’ll go and try this. It’s taken a while for me to get into nomad as I’m from a 2D design background but so far and the more I learn, the more I love the app! Thanks for all your content. I look forward to seeing more 🙂
