I am a welding Supervisor for LADWP in California and my welders where welding on some 2 1/4 heavy wall pipe this past Saturday 10-29-22 The magnetism in the pipe ate their lunch. I found this video and did exactly what you guys did and took the magnetism out of the three other joints. Props to you guys for sharing this great information. I wish I knew this years ago. It would have saved my a lot of frustration when welding. Thanks again. Blessings

See….now on my end, a simple ode to Baphomet seems to always remove the mag from lines with even as high as 1500-2000 gauss. I suppose everyone will credit their specific deity, I just know the guys in my crew typically call to Christ to no avail, but followed by a quick summons of Baphomet along with a minor sacrificial offering, and that mag is completely gone and welds are slicker than a stack of dimes on a stick of butter.
      O Sancte Baphomet,
      Coruscans in oriente,
      Signum justitiae in omni terra,
      Et hieroglphyphum arcanorum mundi invisibilis:
Exalta mentes nostras cordesque sapientis luce,
Mane in nobis in tenebris profundissimis,
Illumina nos cum ambulamus in umbra mortis,
Et eleva nos mortales in altum:
      Gloria et laudes sempiternae tibi,
      O Baphomet fortissime,
      Baphomet potentissime,
      Baphomet doctissime!

Great to see you guy's cover all issues in welding, I was tacking 36" carbon and was getting arc blow. I'll look forward to welding it now and trying your method of getting rid of the magnetizim🍀🍀🍀

Thanks for the info! I was looking around for a way to Demagnetize my small welding table. I assume this will work similarly? It's a 3/8" table that's 2' x 3'. And everything sticks to it.

Do you still sell Tig rig? Mines is getting old. Oh!… I’m coming across your video this evening. The pipe I’m welding has magnesium. We been doing it all today. Tomorrow to be continued

great videos. I wrote about making a video explaining machine settings and all that. I was wondering for the tig pipe welding that you guys are doing , is it lift arc or Hf start? looks like to me most of the videos lately were lift start but i was wondering doesnt the lift start contaminate the weld ?

You can heat it up like almost glowing red then let it cool off then weld it up

Wrap an AC lead around the pipe turn it on and then turn it off

You can chase magnetic field by heating it up past the curi point. Then weld it

What if you're welding on a normal welding machine, and not not of a rig like yours

First of all thank you for putting God first for he is the one who blessed many of us with the ability to hone our talent so that we became quality Craftsmen that bring praise to his name.second of all I'm a 20 year veteran and you just taught me something I've worked slot of pipeline re-hab work and that magnetized mess can and had caused many a good welder fits.wish I'd went to your school back when I was a kiddo.heck I may come let y'all teach me how to better my very rough tig welding.👍

    It will destabilize the arc.

I'll bet you know plenty about welding. I've enjoyed your videos. But, Gauss, the measure of magnetic field strength is pronounced "gous" not gauze. I risk sounding rude by correcting you but, I would want you to tell me.

Normalement il fait chauffer jusqu'au point de Curie

    • @yarharyar
      @yarharyar 3 года назад +2

Heating to the curie point and letting cool works but it also fucks up the temper unless the entire object is properly cooled which isn't easily achieved in the environments these pipes are installed it.
I deal with drill pipe and they're a total bitch when they're magnetized buddy's solution is beautifully elegant given it's simplicity but the risk of running it a tad too long and making some big accidental sparks is not to be overlooked.
