Oh wow! Pretty good skill (or luck?) handling that landing! When you went into those ruts I was afraid something bad might happen. Otherwise, looked like a nice day! I like the inlays of data - graphs/compass, etc., on the videos!

I appreciate your comment. While it looks kind of easy on video, I definitely would have ground looped if not for the higher grass. I had no control of direction at about 25-20 mph. It was luck at that point. In hindsight, maybe I should have boosted the throttle to give me some rudder control…

@@AirBikeNC I think you're right. Plus, I think for tailwheel, it's almost always better on grass

this looks like a lot of fun. do you have to call the airport and let them know you are going to fly or just stay below certain altitude? also is tha smoke in the distance from belews lake power plant?

If you like to fly into a controlled airport, you do have to call and get permission. Yes you are correct, the smoke in the distance is the Roxboro power plant on Hyco Lake. Thanks for watching!

Nice! I see it's still frozen there like it is here along the Blue Ridge. I hope you flew yesterday when it was warmer, cuz otherwise... 🥶

I don't have any carb heat. I haven't had any carb icing yet but I watch for it.
