You should check your volume settings. Your microphone volume is very low compared to the videos. So when you talk during the videos I don't hear you. It's like this for the last few videos already, so I thought I point it out.
But other than that I like to watch your reactions, keep doing them.
The 2000s were the tens of casting shows, that's where those "girl" and "boy" groups come from.

Germany has a big metal (also goth) and techno culture ... I would check out the wikipedia articles about Loveparade and Wacken and maybe Wave Gotik Treffen, some of the largest fests in the worlds for their respective genre.
6:55 and 2:10 are both very successful children's songs. They were sold, downloaded and used for cell phone ringtones so often that they made it into the German charts.
The song at 6:53 (Schnappi, das kleine Krokodil) is originally a song for the TV show "Die Sendung mit der Maus". This is a very famous and really good show for children. (You have to check out. Especially the "Sachgeschichten".) But I don't know why anymore, it was for a short time in the music charts.
And a little request: Please synchronize the volume from the microphon and the video. The videos are often loud and the micro is at the same time very quiet.

Now I have to say something. You're right about techno, the best example being the Love Parade in Berlin around 1998

I would totally love you digging in Rammstein - their videos and live shows are amazing. But you have to get lyrics or subtitles and maybe do some research about the band and the song before, it is worth it.
A lot of these early 2000s No. 1 hits were by TV casted groups that were disbanded after releasing only one song..
Only Nu Pagadi and Room 2012 released 2 songs . Every other had 2 albums and at least 6 songs in the charts. exept Queensberry they had 1 album and 3 songs.And then threre where the german versions of american idol ,the voice,star search and many more casting shows, most of them had only one song ecept alexander , mark medlock, stefanie heinzman and lena meyer-landrut.
Many of them were americans, stationed in DE, and produced by DE.
In this case, there were a lot of germans in it.

Yeah, every year mostly in the summer holiday time is a song with spanish vibes or/and text in the charts. For xtra holiday feeling. The youvsee the germans relaxed setting in a cafe and get tanned😂
Some of the hits aren't even good but for our german ears maybe groovy (las Ketchup song, macarena).
Definitely felt like a step down from the previous decades. When you look at the 80s-90s, you had quite a few songs and artists that made it big internationally. The 2000s and the 2010s in fact feel too commercialiced, just copying the pop songs of whatever was successful from the US and you see significantly less people making it big internationally from Germany. A lot of these songs were from the German casting show which created so many generic pop songs, the shows themselves were much more about the drama and people who are marketable rather than actual singing talent and genuinely good and unique songs that are worth revisiting in 2024. For instance you saw a lot of "No Angels" in this list because they were popular at the time but theyre pretty much irrelevant nowadays and nobody outside Germany even knows who they are. On Spotify they have a monthly listener count of 404k. Compare that to Rammstein who almost feel underrepresented in this list, have 11,6m monthly spotify listeners and pretty much the only artists of the 2000s who made it on the international stage besides a few one hit wunders. The 2010s are a bit better with artists like Milky Chance and a lot of artists in the EDM genre who made it big internationally.
Also Felix Jaehn and Robin Schulz .But late 2010s there is a lot of Gangsta Rap.

When you do a reaction video, it would be nice if one could at least understand what you are talking about. The volume of your micophone is way too low compared to the video.
The Techno scene was very big in the 90's in Germany. Berlin was THE hot spot world wide. Check out the Love Parade! But even then it was more the club sccene then the charts. The charts were nominated by the euro dance trend. But in the 2000's there wasn't a lot of Techno anymore outside of the clubs. I guess, you just mean the more up beat songs, but this is not really Techno.

Update uuh I think Madcon are on this list bc one of the guys is from germany, and the song Fairytale gone bad was produced in germany! tho Hermes house band are from the netherlands

The vast majority of these people is German, born and raised, since you asked. It was definitely fewer of them in the 90s video but still the majority.
For some it's also a bit difficult to tell bc we Germans tend to look at nationality over ethnicity where it feels like anglophone people (so people from English speaking countries) focus more on ethnicity. Ofc both concepts exist in both areas but to me as a German, nationality (so just what your ID says) is much more important. So the guys from Boney M. (did I spell that correctly? The group from the 80s video) were all born in the Carribbean iirc but if they became German citizens, that makes them German in my book. But that's obviously a bit more difficult to ascertain. People's Wiki pages will always tell you where they were born but may not mention their citizenship.
The vast majority of German music is written in English, by the way, so that's not a good indicator at all.
I just let Bing AI look up some numbers and it says 60-70% of all music made by native artists in Germany is recorded in English.
Less than 10% is recorded in German. Other languages do show up every now and then (especially Spanish, I think) but rarely so for each individual language.
Not sure if instrumental songs were included in this statistic, btw. I sure do think so though bc I can't see how it'd add up to a total of 100% otherwise.

Those who sing English also want to conquer the English market. With German titles, you don't expect any great chances.
or they simply sing in english because different languages fit better with certain song types. Most of the time its easier to write a pop songs in english.

The market flourished and the English market expanded. Then at some point came groups like Skorpiens and in the 80s groups like Nena who produced 99 balloons in German as well as in English. To serve both markets. The pronunciation was perfected so that German and English groups could no longer be distinguished. And now, I'll come back to the present. Now it seems that even though you don't understand the language, the German language somehow seems more poetic. There is no other way to explain why you suddenly discover Reinhard Mey in German, who has been in the business for 50 years. The same applies to Grönemeyer. But these are all pretty delicate plants.

2000 - 2010 was the worst decade of german music. Especially all the casting Artists/Bands with the same producer like Brosis and No Angels, Alexander Klaf, Mark Medlock, Piedro Lombardi, Daniel Küblböck and a couple more. And all the cellphone ringtones which came up into the charts. Also all the Mallorca binge drinking songs. Xavier Naidoo turns out do to the pandemic it is freaking Nazi. 2022 when the Ukraine war began he makes the Rick Role and he stopped sharing conspiracy theories. Nena was a Idol for me in the 80s but at the pandemic she was also turn into a conspiracy theorist.
