Your are a great teacher Anna. This is more than clear, great and simple explanations for beginners. I have been doing pours for more than a year now and I still watched your video. Wished I would have had access to this type of tutorial when I started. Bravo!
THANK YOU!!! This has been the best explanation video on consistency's that I have come across. I learned so much and found out what I was doing wrong. Light bulb moment for sure. I appreciate your time, dedication, teaching, and your video's.
Thanks for this video, it's complicated to have the right consistency depending on the products used. Some information and tips for cloud pouring would be useful. Thank you❤️❤️
You’re welcome! Which products do you generally use? A cloud pour video sounds great, except that I don’t really have enough experience with them to give a knowledgeable tutorial!
I really appreciate and enjoyed this video. As a beginner in fluid art it is very difficult to find the consistency I need depending on the technique. You mentioned flowability and I think that was my missing link or thought process. Thanks so very much Anna for giving me that lightbulb 💡 moment 😊
I’m so glad this was helpful! The main thing is to get all the paints in a specific pour to the same consistency as each other, and after that to fine-tune what is the proper consistency for that type of pour.
Thank you for putting this together. It is confusing because different artists use so many different pouring medium recipes. I think this helps because it may have more to do with my preference rather than an exact match to the artists' mixes. Perhaps more a guideline than a rule😊
Exactly! If you’re learning a completely new technique or trying to replicate someone’s painting, then it’s good to copy precisely what they do. But otherwise, just feel it out and use what you like best!
Love getting back to the basics Anna. Another big issue is the size of stick that you use. Every size of stick/spoon/spatula will flow off differently.
Yes, I thought about talking about that! Haha too many variables. The size of stream and the mound/trail stays pretty consistent as long as your stick is the same shape, though. But a spoon would be different for sure.
Thank you so much for doing this video. Even though I've been doing this for a couple of years, I still struggle with consistency and layering transparents, semi-transparents and opaques.
@@AnnaBlountArt The LeftBrainedArtist did a pretty good video on the topic a couple of years ago. He also refers the viewer to a video by a watercolor artist who goes into detail on the how and why. Looks like are lots of variables like paint brand, medium, consistency, etc. Up to us as the artist to play with it. Thanks again!
Great video. Since I am a self learner, the different names of the different types of pours confuses me. I think I am doing a dirty pour, but it may be a straight poor or a ring pour. It is so confusing.
Yes! Actually in a week or two I will be doing a video where I talk through MANY of the techniques. Though even with that, different people have different names for the variations, so it can be a bit confusing.

Thanks so much! I’m glad it was helpful, and best of luck as you continue to pour!
Excellent tutorial. Good job explaining the mound on a mound thought.
Thanks Linda!
Excellent consistency explanations Anna👍🏻⭐️😘
Thank you!

Very well explained. Thank you for the video!!!
You’re very welcome!
I have to watch it in the evening ( in Europe). Very sorry.
No problem! Thank you for watching 😊

I’m so glad it was helpful! Layering of different opacities is not something I’m super knowledgeable about myself…
