OMG i've spent years looking for this! I only just remembered that it was on a kids morning show back in the day called Cheez TV AHHHHHH FINALLYYY!!!!!!
lol same here :D I have been looking for this for many years, all I knew is some space ring around the earth and robots fighting but couldn't find it, and I found it by accident right now happy days
This is my favourite anime of all time, ALL TIME. It did not get enough love for how good it was. Blade is the embodiment of the 'tragic hero' archetype, all his power comes at such a heavy cost, my heart bled for him and poor Star.
chris haight have to totally agree with you!!!! this was the best anime ive ever watched, dont think anything will ever compare! you put it the best when u said "embodiment of the 'tragic hero' archetype" actually perfect description!!!
As a kid I could remover that transformation music is the only thing I could remember stuck in my head and I found this yesterday and I thought 0MG Finally found it
It used to be on the TV very earlier here in Australia too Andrea. I used to program to record it and watch it later unless I was up off a late shift at work.
I see a lot of people posting this was their first fowary into what would be know as anime and I am no different! This blew my mind away on Sci-Fi when it would come on with Demon City Shenjuku and all that jazz back in the day!
Like many others, this was the first anime (JAPANIMATION) I ever watched back in the 1990s (although, then, as I tried to replicate it via my own feeble art, I dubbed it the "shiny art style")... AMAAAZZZING!! Ringo Starr? C'mon. But it's adorable how they tried to adapt it to 'Murika. Slade took such a hold in my head that, to this day, I wanted to watch the original Japanese series and see how it differed. What an interesting choice to introduce U.S. audiences to animu.
It was dubbed Teknoman in the US when it aired on UPN. THe intro for the english cartoon was mega better than any japanese intro. When teh announcer all goes 'To become TEKNOMAN!' gives me chills
Heh. I was 8. I knew they'd archive this show. Expected to be 30 and find it in a video store someplace. Did not expect the rise of the internet. Now i'm watching this in full 10 years ahead of schedule. Good tiems!
Hehe, I like how Ringo keeps hitting on Star with his "Adam and Eve" idea, nice little "parental bonus" there. :D Also, funny how Blade keeps tossing jokes and puns while killing Spidercrabs, he'll be shouting SPACE LANCE and "They're trying to crush me!" next. :D
Fourteen years later: the absolute best part? It's a reasonably accurate translation of the Japanese in that scene! "Noal" (Ringo) tries the same thing on "Aki" (Star), and she shuts him down in pretty much the same way (and loops in Commander "Freeman" (Jamison) the same way, too!) The pacing's a little different (they've got Kerrigan Mahan kind of packing in Ringo's dialogue here, as often happened in 90s dubs) but the content there is essentially the same.
My best mate and I have been talking about the cartoons we used to love for awhile and only recently got the idea to search for them on RUclips. I know we should have figured this out earlier but at least we can watch X-Men, Samurai Pizza Cats and this little beauty!
This Anime had my attention to the fullest when I was younger which last time was the 80's cartoons transformers, thunder cats,g.i.joe ect tekknoman had me seeking out more upscale anime which led to me seeing Akira, Ghost in the Shell, ect
Haven't seen this since it was on TV all those years ago. Thanks, now I can sit and relax on Saturday mornings with the kids for a while. Just to clarify for others, the name of this show is Tekkaman Blade (in Japanese). Also known as Teknoman, TecknoMan and Tekno-Man (in English). I guess they just couldn't make up there minds, but no matter the title it's still a good animated show. This series would be great to re-make with today's Digital Tech for TV.
It never veered away from being hardcore. It was just for a while the cutesy stuff was popular, but there were still plenty of gritty series at the same time.
I like watching this anime every saturday morning. I get up and watch most of the episode when I was a kid. but damn, they didn't remove it off the TV so I end up missing all the episodes. Thanks for uploading this.
@BettyBlowtorchRocks i read that they're 3 versions of tekkaman blade, what he is called. japan = tekkaman blade international = teknoman blade usa = teknoman slade ,for the rest all the names are different between english and japanese version venomoid = radam
know that feel, i was 6 or something when i first saw it.. but i knew one day, if my memory/mind held together I would be reunited with some childhood memories in full. Hopefully I will remember all the tv shows I watched as a kid
Thanks for this, so glade to find it BUT.... now I HAVE to watch the FULL series to make sure there are no missing parts. Yep, that should be a good enough reason to spend Saturday watching it again. Right ??
I remember watching Teknoman years back. Enjoyed it greatly, then after the episode in which his sister appears on the show........it's off the air! I know that a number of us on Florida's west coast were not happy with that. I assumed that UPN or CW cancelled it. I'd like to see the entire series.
The version you're talking about aired here in New Zealand at like, 5AM on Saturday and Sunday mornings (out of order) - compared to this version, it is edited to all Hell.
So supposedly there are two English dubs for whatever reason that's anybody's guess, a few actors were changed such as Slade (Blade in the other dub) and Ringo, in the mid-90's the station UPN aired Sunday mornings the series featuring the other dub of which this is not, that UPN dub had its own Americanized theme set to a techno beat unlike this one that retains the Japanese one.
The tune of this intro is great but the english intro also rocks, even a bit better than the japanese version. it has less punch then the english version.
Maybe someone know what is this intro song (with girl singing and piano... ) ? Is it possible to get anywhere this soundtrack? If anyone have that soundtrack, please let me know
.....this Americanized version of Tekkaman Blade. but, I still love it, I really do. the nostalgia and style of the show just blow me away, as it really is a great original creation unlike anything else I've ever seen, despite being changed so much from the original. I *gasp* even like most of the dub actors! I do like the original as well, to be fair the story is allot better and more griping, and the acting superior. but I still love this show, *sniff* :') I really do.....
i love this anime i remember it as a kid of 3 and 4 and could remember the name of the show but wanted to see it soo bad for all theses years till i found it again last year:D
this was a kids show this was on when i was a baby somebody tell me what was going on im researching different tv shows on when i was a babe!!!! thank you.
OMG i've spent years looking for this! I only just remembered that it was on a kids morning show back in the day called Cheez TV AHHHHHH FINALLYYY!!!!!!
Ha, same happened with me. So good to find it again!
lol
same here :D I have been looking for this for many years, all I knew is some space ring around the earth and robots fighting but couldn't find it, and I found it by accident right now
happy days
Same exact situation here. :)
Watched this along with King Arthur and the Knights of Justice
Welcome, brother.
The very first anime I ever watched, way back in the early 90s. I've been enthralled ever since.

Part 2???? im finding this now!
Yeah, this as well as Ronin Warriors was my first introduction to anime in the 90s.
This is my favourite anime of all time, ALL TIME. It did not get enough love for how good it was. Blade is the embodiment of the 'tragic hero' archetype, all his power comes at such a heavy cost, my heart bled for him and poor Star.

D Enhanced every thing you said... my first tv heartache was this anime
Thanks for putting this up, much appreciated. Please do not remove.
My god, this is real? It's been so long since I watched this as a little kid that I thought I imagined it!
lol same. It took me forever to find it again.
As a kid I could remover that transformation music is the only thing I could remember stuck in my head and I found this yesterday and I thought 0MG Finally found it
Oh you too? I remember this vaguely , but because it only came on sundays I only saw until the sister was introduced.
Not you alone bro
HOLY FUCK I REMEMBER THIS BEING ON WEEKDAY MORNINGS IN AUSTRALIA BEFORE SCHOOL BACK IN LIKE 1995 OR 1996.
Cheez TV!!
best show to watch before heading to school. Followed up by dbz
b3vo That's right! Yeah dbz I think started after they finished with this anime.
This is what got me hooked on Gundem back in the early 90s in America then I started to follow the Classic s likes "Akira", "Ninja Scroll" ect
A fellow Trinidadian? Nice!
i have not seen this in 16 years...i used to watch it every Sunday on UPN 9. thank you for posting the episodes up here.

@@Random_qubit No. I think TiO V has it correct below. It was on Ch 10 or one of the others before the main kids shows started for the day.

I love this theme! Better than the original.
I could remember watching this back in the day. Awesome. 😊👍
A solid story, amazing drawing ✍️! I wish Christopher Nolan will make a movies of this
this is what started my anime journey for me, this, and fist of the north star, Genocyber. anime used to be so visceral back then!
2:08 that one action instantly made this guy my favorite character.

Still holds up.

I randomly thought about this show I remember watching it long ago didn’t remember the name. Good to find it always liked the intro piano part
man this was the best show growing up!!
I loved this show as a kid. Still awesome. Those one liners blade drops when he kills the spider crabs would make Captain Planet blush though, haha.

Lol I love Technoman Blade's excessive use of corny puns during battle; it kinda reminds me of Spiderman and Static.
hay i like this music still, getting a distant desperate cry in the vibe.
I love the intro....its my fav...
I remembered this back in 95 in Miami used to play in UPN Kids TV-33. Used to miss church for this.

Why don't they make quality cartoons like these anymore? I miss the 90's! It was beautiful back then when I was a kid! What happened?

This is an unusual comment I'm going to make but this is the first anime I've ever watched. I think it was on Fox Kids.

Have Darkon first appeared in this first episode of Teknoman?
the voice actor who played Star is also the voice for Dorris Lang in Vampire Hunter D =]

Used to watch this on fox kids when I was a kid. Was in at half 6. The channel closed for the night at 7 and started again the next morning.
this was my shit back in the days. thanks for the uploads
Tekkaman Blade made his Debute in SRWJ , W and TVC
lol love the needless acrobatic at 2:05
this show was pretty damned epic.
Isn't any english dubbed version somewhere with better sound quality ?
This dub is still surprisingly good after all these years. I actually prefer the westernized version's music over the original Japanese.
omg man i remember this since i was a kid at last and wtf man this music reminds me of evan gallien a bit even the voice
lol "This time I think you'll get my POINT!"
i missed this anime
Teknoman and samurai x was the best anime growing up
Could some one tell me the name of the red Teknoman sign. I don't know what the font is called.
Thank you for doing this
Bro, you’re a legend!
Funny you should mention that. Guyver was influenced by the old school 70's Tekkaman, funny how this one has Guyver elements to him. :D
This was my jam!
thanks for the uplo mate

hey! it's the voice of MARIE CRYSTAL (Robotech:Southern Cross) i loved that series!!

Is one that will be entertaining for many more years, even if the animation style is dated.
i remember seeing this back in the 90s half of the teknomen who worked under darkcon were members of blade. family
Now I'm gonna look for Captain Planet episodes!!!
Thanks a lot for this!
@bloodypudding Yeah; Slade had much more of a Batman-ish vibe to him. Which really fits, when you think about it.
yeah remember watching this on cheez tv to but this was not the introduction i remember watching. I got the english intro to Teknoman.
i love this anime i remember it as a kid of 3 and 4 and could remember the name of the show but wanted to see it soo bad for all theses years till i found it again last year:D
then why dose it start up after he has his power's and the world's in rune's?
Does she have any use besides acting as a damsel in distress?
trivia - In the English-dubbed versions, the series was heavily cut compared to the original Japanese version and shortened from 50 to 43 episodes.
I take it there were too many adult scenes?

A little tip for every fan. Re-name your alexa voice to " pegasus", and name your lamp "power". Then you get to say pegasus, power on!
their were 2 seasons but the second season is short
Maybe they were running out of ideas. Flippin Saddleback Caterpillars on the next episode iam sure.
