For some reason, I'm sitting here watching Cosmo in tears. Must be Covid burnout + holiday season build-up + lack of sleep but this news just hit me like a ton of bricks. I haven't reacted to family members passing with such a heavy heart. His truly honest, straight to the core, no fluff type of soul will be missed by this guy. Thanks, Cosmo Weems, for having shared your life with all of us would-be wanderers.
Just a week ago I was re-watching his video series in which he got snowed in. Most people would've panicked, but he was like a kid in a candy shop. The deeper the snow got, the more fun he had. The man was completely unflappable. He must have been fun to know.
I remember the first time he tried out the heater, but I think the snow storm was a later video. The first one that comes to mind was his trying out the heater for the first time, checking thermometers.
Patrick, I just found this mini-tribute to Cosmo, and it was beautifully done. This video is just another reason why I have been following you for so long. Thanks for your great content and your kind heart. Hope to see you on the road some day.
I found Cosmo when I was searching for videos about the Clam shelters 2-3 years ago. His review helped me decide on buying mine. I then binge-watched all of his videos and subscribed to his channel because he was such a character and made me laugh. He introduced a lot of gear to his viewers. I bought many items based on his recommendations. He loved camping and he loved making videos for youtube. I'm sure he'll be missed by many people. RIP, Cosmo. 🙏
So very sad to hear this dear man is gone. I will certainly miss his energetic vids. Truly wish him heavenly travels with his trailer. Rest In Peace dear sir.
Wow. Lost touch with Cosmo’s channel for a number of months and am just finding out about his passing. Loved his enthusiasm for the Vistabule and love of the outdoors - it was infectious. RIP my friend.
The man left a mark on the teardrop community that will continue to inspire people for generations. A life genuinely well lived. There will always be only one Cosmo. RIP.
Cosmo is the reason I now own my first td trailer, purchased it in Wisconsin, drove all the way there from Savannah by myself (longest trip EVER by myself) b/c he did a video on the road toad abode and Camp Inn factory....he corresponded with me via emails and answered tons of questions.. he loved sharing his knowledge and was so patient and gracious... my heart is sad and eyes are wet... we will all miss him so much.... enjoy the stars, Cosmo
This is just a lovely tribute. I was (and probably still am) in such shock when I saw the video posted by the folks at Vistabule on Cosmo's channel Wednesday evening. I have been watching Cosmo's videos for several years, and really enjoyed and appreciated not only his frank, funny, straight forward style, but also his real "get out there" spirit. He really made you feel like you were along with him. I didn't know him aside from his YT channel, but I will miss him a lot. R.I.P. Cosmo, and enjoy your next adventure. **EDIT** If anyone knows of an official obituary for Cosmo, either a newspaper or funeral home site, please let me know, as I have been unable to locate any sort of death notice or obituary anywhere. Thank you.
I felt I knew this wonderful man. I loved his sense of humor and his philosophy on life. The world has benefited due to this optimistic, gentle man. I envy his family and friends that they knew him personally. God bless your soul, Cosmo.
