i've been drinking since i was 14 but got worse about 19 and now at 21 i drink everyday and have had times to hide it from my SO, i need to drink before any function or even school, but i feel so great!! relaxed, and happier, it doesn't interfere in my life at all or look drunk at all which makes me confused

Thank you for sharing. Over time, alcohol can become the substance of choice used to cope, developing a maladaptive coping mechanism. That is the concern with drinking alcohol, to excess, over a long duration of time.

@@e.ugarcia751see if you can go a month without a drink. That is a good way to see if you are an alcoholic. Also if you drink long enough you can damage your liver.

@jmatt98 not just your liver. Also your kidneys, heart, brain, blood vessels, your stomach and intestines, eyes, affects your hearing and every organ in your body. Also increases risk of cancer, heart disease and so on. I personally have heart issues now amongst other issues. Wish I never drank. It's very difficult to quit.

When I drink I am in my happy place, I am only 25 I work in hospitality I have cut down on it but I think about it all the time.
When I get an urge I go on a three day drinking bender.
