At first I picked him for his appearance and style, but after labbing him a bit I found there's a lot more reasons than that. He his own style of wavedash, strong mixup from crouch, a bunch of tricky traps for the opponent, amazing back-turn parry, a cool stance, good WS punish, and probably more that I don't know about

This is insightful indeed. Not sure if you have vids on combos but I'm digging the improved version of Haze, Souls!!! I haven't lab much at all but Souls looks like the key to high damage combos.
U can block from backwards stance if u use the manual back turn command.
If you are talking about the lows that are -9, you cannot, you need a couple frames to turn around, if they do ws4 they WILL hit you, I even show it on the video.
Already playing him, but cheap? That Heat smash gets stuffed if you just stay in his face and jab or any quick button up close. Still super fun to play
I mean, the move is a projectile, it is meant to be used from a distance. If it wasn't for Devil Jin, it would be the best whiff punisher in the game.

Also do you think you can make a vid on how to implement mix from soul zone into white hole? I always get hit out of it.

@@codeineskywalka5691 It's almost a "fake" mix up. You have to condition your opponent not to press or challenge when they see you in SoulZone. For example, they do a move that is -13 and you punish with db2,1 into SZ. You do SZ4, they get counter hit and you launch. At some other point you do FC df3+4 into SZ, they try to get up kick and get hit by SZ 2. They challenged and got hit twice, so in the third time you do something into SZ, they are gonna be so scared that you can white whole into something else. I hope that makes sense.

I just picked up raven last week and I’m also new to Tekken made it to orange ranks and my opponents are no longer falling for the cd4 bate and more people are beating my full crouch mix. So I’m looking for new ways to implement offense and mix. So this helps a lot
Do you know how to crouch dash? At least on my personal style, I like to crouch dash forward then block or backdash, to see how they usually react first, then if you just block, or they crouch when they see me crouch dash I mix up with the mid more often, I also usually go for WS2 more often than WS1 as a mid since it is safe. I have a T7 video on the crouch dash, but I'm working on the T8 version right now.
7:42 Feng's b4 is a 12f mid that tracks to both sides, I don't think this is as cheap. Besides Raven needs it, he needs any help he can get to be able to compete with the top tiers.
Honestly I dropped him a while ago. He is imo way to hard to play at high ranks. Maybe its only me but I ranked up with 13 characters and he is the only one that I had trouble with

It’s the other way around. If you think Raven doesn’t get stuffed in high ranks, you haven’t made it to high ranks. Check how many high rank Ravens there are on the leaderboard compared to characters like Azucena, Jin, King, Victor. Paul? Dragunov? Lili? Y’all must be Mortal Kombat refugees.
So many characters in this game require so little effort compared to Raven and perform so much better.
Once you guys get out of your little red ranks and into blue and purple you will start to see how hard you have to work to main Raven.
But y’all gonna quit the game before that
Everybody that’s actually played rank tekken agrees with me. I like my messages compared to yours.
Just because Raven is low tier at higher ranks doesn’t mean you have to wrap your ego up in it. In fact, you won’t have to ever worry about high rank play, big dog.
