You should try Bootcamp mode, teaches you the more advanced mechanics of the game that remain universal to most characters such as comboing with vanish. It helped me a lot.
Hey Jack! Haven’t watched all of the fighterz vids so I don’t know if you know this, but if you use your crouching/down heavy attack in the air you can use it as a combo extender on most characters. For you I would recommend sticking to super dashing/the fly button to follow up and continue the combo.
Facing Z-Broly as some of your first fights is some bad luck. A lot of his attacks have armor which can mess newer players up. Hopefully you do these more often!
I would say make sure to be careful with mashing lights because certain characters have a grab at the end that actually doesn’t go through block and is easy to punish
Best advice I can give is to work your level 1's/3's (your supers) into your combos. Raw level 1's/3's do the most damage, but you will rarely land them and they leave you vulnerable. Do your combo, wait until they hit the ground (sliding knockdown), and immediately pop your super. This will give you extra damage at the end of a combo and give you a safe way to reset the fight by forcing them to recover from your super.
Go to boot camp Mode Jack. It gives you a rundown of the mechanics. Also do Ranked over Casual, as you said in the beginning Casual has no SBMM so anyone can fight you. Ranked will put you against other new people
I don't know why I didn't see it coming that Jack would panic and waste spark when he finally used it... Just so you know, it lasts twice as long when you have an ally down, and 3x as long on your last living member. It provides regen, boosted damage, and has misc. buffs that help a lot
One thing I notice is that when you do the autocombos, you don't let them finish. Keep pressing Square(X on Xbox) until your character dashes and knocks the opponent down.
Good work, man. A tip: you dont need to manually dash after hitting the zoom-in normal attacks, as long as you press the same button again your character will automatically super dash. For example if you press heavy and you're not sure they'll get hit by it make sure to press heavy again so your character will dash for a follow-up, this also applies to autocombos, if you do light light light and then after the zoom or in the middle of the 2nd half of the animation (you can just mash it if you dont wanna time it lol) you press light again you'll get your superdash. I recommend doing FighterZ Dojo since that's the best in-game tutorial in the game, it actually teaches you useful stuff. For the rest I'd say something I learned from Doto: don't be afraid of trying the hard combos you learn in training, if you never try them online you'll never get better, it doesn't matter if you lose because of it, because if you can't do those combos online you'll have a hard time ranking up. Keep doing combos until they become muscle memory, that's all ✌
Nice work. You've progressed so much, even in this one vid. You've stopped panicking so much and clutched up. But I would recommend avoiding relying on the auto combo, cause it'll make it harder to get used to real combos.
Jack I think you should try GT Goku. I recently played w him for the first time and he’s surprised me. He’s very agile and he’s got a lot of long range moves. His Ult (Spirit-Bomb) can be comboed into after because it launches the other person in the air. Although they replaced his Ki blasts with his power pole, which I personally don’t really like.
This was a really good video! Personally, I would suggest trying out a couple new characters. Yampcha: it may sound weird, but it’s actually a really good call. Yampcha is a simple character to learn with a lot of mixup potential. Gogeta: he’s an extremely hard hitting fighter with a lot of style and. Super fun to learn Kefla: she has a lot of really good options that kept people off you and a lot of really good mobility. Super broly: an extremely hard hitting grappler with a lot of ways to devastate the opponent. Android 16: same as broly in the way, he grapples, but is a lot simpler to master. Also, make sure are using some level one more
I feel like broly super is a great option for jack. He controls the ground a good 80% of the time due to how many options he has there. Jack spends most of his time spamming on the ground anyways so perfect fit
I recently started playing the game too. Nice to see content with similar skill levels instead of insanely hard combos all the time. Most useful thing I’ve learned is a universal combo that leads into most specials. I’d recommend learning that cause it applies to almost all characters

You should learn more universal combos, like the vanish to dragon rush. And something i found thats not always universal is a lot of the time in the air most characters can do light hits 2 times before the knockdown, ki blast, then do a special move. Special moves are different from ults, im not sure if you know, special moves are quarter circle forward or back then light, medium, or heavy. The light version works most of the time. Another thing is jumping during the combos, like with vegito i will do this sometimes. Opponent superdashes, i down heavy them to punish. I super dash up to them, hit 2 light attacks, then JUMP and hit 2 more light attacks into the spirit sword, then throw them with his special, then vanish into dragon rush, then once you both land hit him with the ult. If you are in limit break, at the start of a round you can do something cool. 6 meter cost combo. Stand medium, down medium, down heavy, super dash, light light, jump, light light, spirit sword/ki blast/special button, medium throw down special(quarter circle back medium button), vanish immediately, dragon rush to knock them down, then once you land since you are in limit break you can do your level 1 super(quarter circle forward, R button) and cancel it once it hits into your level 4 super(quarter circle BACK, R button but hold down the R button as Vegito can do a follow-up attack if you hold down R, it take an extra bar thats why its a 6 bar combo). They can block it easily, but if they don’t it does a lot of damage. If anyone can help me learn how to optimize it that would be helpful, cause i am not a pro by any means im just giving advice on the character i play the most. if you don’t have 6 bars, lets say you are in the much more real situation of having 4 bars, just do the level 3 after the dragon rush. If you aren’t in limit break you can’t cancel your level 1 into the level 4, if you have 5 bars at round start and you don’t have limit break its still worth going for since its damage is pretty good. Just don’t do the level 1 before the level 4.
For a beginner team now I think considering I've been playing for a while and I'm just wondering if your trolling or being legit but a team for you could be teen gohan, beerus and android 21 if you want like a decent team I feel but if you want a character you are more comfortable with then janemba, tien, and ssb vegeta. Make sure to hit training mode and fight level 100 cpu of your team to watch what they do, then fight a lower level cpu to see if you can pull it off in a real match
I'd recommend you play Tien, but if you do, use him Anchor, his tri beam does incredible damage. he also has the volleyball technique, quarter circle triangle/Y is a great low option and it has armor, you can use it while blocking if there is a gap in their combo. Also JACK PLEASE learn how to use the triangle button in combos! Down triangle/Y into normal triangle and jumping to continue the combo is essential for combos

Learn to Punish the Super Dash with a 2H jack.. it really helps on a lower matches and sometimes higher level matches... each time you see someone flying towards you just 2H ((Down Heavy))
Talk to Lythero, hes really good android 16 player and his friends are all pretty decent. He doesnt play DBFZ as much anymore but hes got a great grasp at foghting games on general.

Jenemba,vegito/beerus,jiren is good team Jiren is a very good character with 2 counters and very good ults jenemba is just op in general and he has teh best ultimate’s in the game so i recommend him i’ve seen that you had olayed him arealdy and when you click square/triangle you just keep on clicking it its a good thing to do when your strarting ranked till you become super saiyan rank or abit lower i whould start doing combo’s with ults and moves and last vegito or beerus there the 2 best characters in the game vegito with insane combo’s and ults and he is easy to learn but beerus is the same olmost but abit harder to learn with but if you know how use his moves then you will be insane in ranked or tourments vegito is the same but way more simple and he has better combo’s and jenemba is kinda hard to use so i whould recommend vegito and beerus to you can choose’which one funner/feels better to play with so jiren,jenemba and vegito/beerus

Android 21 has like everything in the game, beerus has a sideswitch auto combo along with janemba, and beerus has a very quick level 3 that can hit from essentially everywhere and has decent tools and janemba you said you like and he is really good in my opinion due to the teleport and amazing mix ups but also begginer level
Uh for mui goku's round start press square twice and if the second punch hits then do a low triangle into stand triangle then either down circle or jump and press square. If they block the square inputs then do a down circle to space abit and then do standing X and then down forward X for the kamehameha then stand circle for the simple block string
If you wanna be flashy then do down backwards triangle for the flip grab if you press triangle twice when flipping near them. And then press X if it lands then Kamehameha into super dash 😊

Instead of rotating through characters, I would settle on 3 characters you find cool and are simple enough to play and then focus on trying to learn them. Then first learn their easy to apply BnB combo which leads to a sliding knockdown. Do them over and over again in training mode until you got the muscle memory down and don’t even need to think about it while doing them. Then if you’re on the defense, only block low at the beginning, because hitting with an overhead is a bit harder to do from execution standpoint. Don’t do raw supers, like you figured they are easily avoided/blocked and punished and you just waste meter. Supers are used as combo finishers. Lvl 1 for extra dmg if you go for the k.o. Or lvl 3 for the hard knockdown. You can also chain your teammates lvl 1 to your leading characters lvl 1 by doing the quarter circle input plus assist after your first lvl 1 super. If you’re in a pinch, remember there is spark. It works as a get off me mechanic and gives you more dmg and offensive pressure and it also recovers all your blue life.
