  • The Boston Celtics were one game away from winning the NBA Championship in 2010 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Rasheed Wallace played a pivotal role in Game 7 as the team fell just short against Pau Gasol and the Lakers. Sheed details the BIGGEST reason as to why the team fell short that season.

    I’m glad he didn’t make a big deal out of Kendrick Perkins being injured and blaming the whole loss on that. I had a lot of respect for doc, but I’ve never agreed with him when he said “oh yeah the only reason they won is because we didn’t have our starting five.”
    I mean with that logic well neither did the Lakers in 2008. Andrew Bynum was out hurt for that series but I never once heard Phil Jackson come out and say “in 2008 we would’ve won if Andrew Bynum was healthy. “ and no one in the media said that they hated Kobe so much that they were just happy he lost.
    That’s what a championship team does. Yes, now someone like Kobe Bryant or Kevin Garnett goes down that’s a complete game changer and no disrespect to kind Perkins but he’s not that caliber player, so I always thought that was a really weak and disrespectful excuse.

      I saw it from the standpoint of Bynum got hurt and THEN they traded for Pau with the understanding that Bynum was out so it's like having Pau made Bynum obsolete for the rest of that season as they didn't have him from the Allstars break on post-trade as opposed to having Perkins be lost IN THE FINALS after he helped get you that far and vs lakers with Pau AND Bynum up front ,if anything ariza being out in '08 is more valid cos he got hurt later in season when team setup was established

    That 3 that Sheeed hit was HUGE! It was in like the final minute of the game... Rondo, Ray, and Rasheed had all hit one... it was that Fisher and Artest 3 that just broke their back though, I think the Artest one, more than anything though... and Gasol killed them on the glass...and yea, THEY GOT THE HOMETOWN COOKING, WHAT'D YOU EXPECT

    The beef was Ray Allen having to sacrifice and take a backseat to rondo and Avery Bradley. Those were the good ol days when every game of a series was a battle. I will say doc didn't get enough out of that core that was together for 4+ years.

  • @redpillrich
    @redpillrich 6 месяцев назад +1

    Out of the 4 players on the Celtics that Doc supposedly said had the green light to shoot threes’s to Rasheed and the team according to Rasheed which was himself, Eddie House, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce, House would be the purest shooter of them all, doesn’t mean he was the best just purest, meaning wide open nobody was better. Ask Ray and Sheed, they’d tell you the same. Ray was the better shooter overall because it was so close that his height lended a role, being able to get the shot off easier over defenses that made him slightly better than House as a shooter, but again, not wide open.

      the series was tied 3-3 with perk. It really did not make a difference. Perkins was giving u 5 points 5 Rebs a game. Sheed had 11 and 8 on 5/11 shooting. That was better than any game Perkins had. Plus Lakers could say the same thing, Bynum was injured in 08 and didn't play the entire playoffs. Or maybe they’re not as upset or happy as they say they are, maybe they are just romanticizing how they feel.

    You can always tell real basketball fans from fanboys by talking about game 7.
    If they are a real one, they know that game was fixed and the championship illegitimate.
    If they are fanboys they act like 20+ free throws in 12 minutes is normal and happens all the time.
