Dude Tripath chip based amps sound awesome. Paired with the right speakers (high eff full range back loaded horns for example) they are sublime. simple supply and demand. The demand comes from the fact that they sound awesome are rare now = price goes up. That Tripath chip also made it into the chip hall of fame.

I know, this is old old video... But I have a bunch of these little amps, and have built friends budget systems using these amps. If we're talking about pure sound characteristics... There is no better amp option until you hit around $150. Yes there's louder amps. And amps with less harmonic distortion, but the sound you get out of these is paired with the right speakers is absolutely amazing at the price point. I used it paired with Klipsch rp160m's for a couple years and found it so hard when I finally had the money to upgrade to find something tonally comparable. I ended up grabbing a huge $1200 receiver at a tag sale for $50. That's what it took to achieve better tonal characteristics, a once $1200 amp. The new kinter 2020 is just about the same. The other versions of this are indeed garbage sounding. And all those other Chinese class d amps sound like crap by comparison.

Hey, Mark! I have one of these and it still works, but a few months ago it started taking 5 to 10 minutes for the speakers to emit sound. i´ll plug it into a laptop or a phone and just hit play and wait 3 or 4 soungs until sound finally comes out of the speakers... any idea what the issue might be? In any case, thanks and take care!

That's the kind of amp for you to save a party without music, to get somebody off the hook. Mine has been working for nearly 4 years without breaking down. The quality standard is an issue in cheap electronic products made in China.

Sorry, but not helpful. I might be able to discern what to try based on this, but man, you’re hooking a battery up for some reason you didn’t disclose, and then you are touching these other two unidentified wires to the board, and that just doesn’t help, if you’re not saying or showing what they’re connected to. And in the end you bridged across the terminals that used to go through the relay... I guess. Cuz you didn’t show what you did there either. I appreciate you showing the general gist of what’s going on, and I’m guessing my relay is the problem too, but I’m gonna have to look elsewhere for the details.

I did kind of gloss over things. Sorry I wasn't much help.
