About a year ago I reupholstered my dinning chairs in the same color u did,using drapes I had and I love them.Just to show off a little 42 mirrors and counting.During the holidays my sister visited from Canada she has now collected 4..

So nice to see you back again! Looking forward to this year and what you have in store for us! What I find so funny is our tastes in decorating. Last year I also picked out pretty much the same color fabric to redo my kitchen chairs this year and I also want to change the color of my table and chairs. My chairs are not French, but wouldn’t be mad if they were! They have a cane backing in the style of the low back and are teak wood. Very 60’s, but I love them because the seat is easy to recover, which I’ve done once two years ago in a pattern. I want a solid linen now, so I found some very thick linen look fabric I’m doing them in this year. My table looks like the one you have and is a dark color. Had to edit, now things are becoming more clear, I too have OCD, but as I’ve come into my golden years it’s less and I don’t notice it as much.
Oooh sounds like you have a great project there! Be careful with dark wood though as the tannins can bleed through so do a test area and possibly seal with a shellac first then you can use any type of paint to finish. Have fun! 😀🤗♥️

I'm 73 and know what you mean about appreciating tools, etc. that are easy to use and kind to our hands as we get older. Our hands (the handiest😊tools of all) certainty do get a workout. I paid the price when I got up this morning for sweeping too much snow off my deck yesterday. I am a firm believer in taking hot epsom salts baths to both detox and sooth aching muscles and joints.

I just purchased a antique oak gothic revival buffet on Marketplace newly chalk painted white . It’s from L Marcus Ltd a London furniture co. I too am sanding it back, leaving the white in the grain of the wood, then applying dark wax. We our kindred spirits 😊

At first, I didn't think there would be much change. But by the end, there is a big difference between the colors! And you have sanded off more of the paint on the chairs, I like the wood color! Love the results!!

I have an idea for your black chairs that won't strip well ...what about trying caustic soda and a scrubbing brush ? or getting them acid dipped if there is a place near you that does it your furnatue is put inside huge acid tanks and it straps all the paint off 😊
