As a petrol head Malayali, I would like to say that we love our vehicles. Anything that has tyres and has an engine, we immediately are attracted towards it. I think the fact that we know how to appreciate someone else’s vehicle and the work that they have done, that’s what makes us love this community more and more. People of all age group literally admire the vehicles, be it a car or a motorcycle or a bus or a truck, we love them all. One thing I remember and my cousins also agree with me is that, when we were kids, we used to see the way our fathers and uncles drove their cars, we would have just one prayer at that time - that God please, I want to grow up soon so that I can get a license and start driving. We are obsessed with our vehicles, also the fact that, literacy did help us read, read about the modifications that could be done, basic stuff like air filters, free flow exhaust, etc, the list goes on. Now literacy should not be confused with education, literacy is basically the ability to read and write, that’s what we did, we read about the modifications, read about the performance parts, read about the consequence, discussed with amongst ourselves, hence increasing our knowledge. Finally, I just want to say that this madness that you see, I mean you can call it madness, but we call it passion.

Im from a small village in kerala. Near my house a guy has a maruti zen thats engine is replaces by an i4 engine and also put a turbo charger in that. That car is famous in our village and it is wrapped also
I am from Malappuram. There is trend on importing cars lately. There has been a lot of JDM with Dubai reg kicking nearby roads like the GTR, supra and other brands like subarus, dodges etc
Their love for automotives is very tasteful. I am from Tamilnadu and i am a huge fan of their mods.. be it a vintage royal enfield or an ambassador or jeep you can see their love for it. They value it. So much love and respect for all the keralites.
Kerala have a life standard and political mindset like a latin american country this reflect in our dressing, filming, schooling, football and vehicles, architecture and foods.
I work in automotive paints industry... I have to tell you that people in Kerala are willing to spend 3-5 times more on frequent paint jobs for their cars.
Dude please lookup the pictures of dmax truck now. It looks out of this world🔥. Hats off to @abinbabs the owner of the vehicle. He just bought an entire army truck just to carry around the dmax to auto shows. That's the level of commitment of keralites. Every little kid who grows up in Kerala has insane ideas to turn whatever they ride or drive to look & perform good. Proud to be a keralite💪 🥰
The modified cars which you showed are used for car shows in colleges not for daily on-road usage.Kerala police and MVD are very vigilant in catching modified vehicles and charging fine.
True. They are transported on flatbeds. I live in kerala and i don't find much of them on road. Kerala MVD is pretty strict and if they find any one, they will confiscate it and will only be released after restoring it to original form.
SUGGESTION: The government should give a modification permit based on displacement for which they can charge extra money and issue a certificate to allow the owner to modify his vehicle. If revenue can be generated from Alcohol than why not modification? Modification is much better than alcohol addiction. It should be legal. It is a great source of revenue.
What if people misuse permit and make killer vehicles? They can't check vehicles every couple of months and also modification experts thinks far better than MVD. Personal opinion, ready to correct if iam wrong 😂
Bro in Kerala, we give a soul to the vehicles, we see them as a living being,we can't even bare if vehicle got a single scratch. This shows how much we love them, we make an identify of our own from the vehicle. No matter if cops chargers fine we pay, remove it for them and replace it now we are getting used to it...

For those unaware, Kerala also has a publication dedicated to the tuner culture. Quarter Mile magazine. I believe it was one of the first such publications dedicated to serve enthusiasts in the country.
Its not only about money. We can see high end vehicles being bought in other states too but in Kerala we are keen in keeping the vehicles in good condition whether a mod or stock. Also mods are done after a lot of research and by the size of the pocket. Edit: you can see not only mods but there are a lot of enthusiasts who proudly owns vintage and collectibles who actually uses the vehicle and not as a showpiece.
Kerala's one of the best Vcross custom made by Abin Babs.. Rich kid with rich taste in vehicle modifications and custom made parts. MVD charged 45K on VCross and he restored back to factory spec, but his come back was legendary. MVD realized they messed with a wrong person. All his vehicles are gems. Abin and his Monster Vcross still lives in our hearts. 'Heros will be remembered but Legends never die' Our one & only ❤BABS ❤
This culture should be promoted as it can generate and support a whole new industry providing employment, no other country has such strict laws be it US or some European country. There are so many car enthusiasts out there in India 🇮🇳 who can even represent India on international level.

So nice to see how people of different states respect & love each other because of car culture ❣️
🙏🇮🇳
Car modification should be legal in India it will create new employment and Business opportunities for many peoples.
We totally agree with you. We petrolheads love to modify our cars and we would want that the government acknowledge this with some relaxed rules. 🙌🏻

Thank you bro .
Love From KERALA
Kerala have a life standard and political mindset like a latin american country this reflect in our dressing, filming, schooling, football and vehicles, architecture and foods.
I work in automotive paints industry...
I have to tell you that people in Kerala are willing to spend 3-5 times more on frequent paint jobs for their cars.
Bro In Kerala Modification is treated like criminal case and impose huge fines on tourist bus and cars 😢
But we still try to keep our vehicles best❤️

SUGGESTION:
The government should give a modification permit based on displacement for which they can charge extra money and issue a certificate to allow the owner to modify his vehicle.
If revenue can be generated from Alcohol than why not modification? Modification is much better than alcohol addiction. It should be legal. It is a great source of revenue.
Agree
Exactly. You said the right thing.
What if people misuse permit and make killer vehicles? They can't check vehicles every couple of months and also modification experts thinks far better than MVD.
Personal opinion, ready to correct if iam wrong 😂
@@sujithks3989 Please specify "killer vehicles".
Is it something like the Death Race?
Totally agree! They just not happy to give us a freedom of expression.
Well explained. Loving this channel.
That ambassador looks badass. Love from WB. Wish here in wb we could see cars like these more often :)
So if you love your vehicle does that give you right to illegally modify them.
@@sumeet8446 yea it does, you buy clothes for your children don't you.
@@sumeet8446 our money our cars we'll do whatever we want with them if it means we have to pay huge fines we dont care

For those unaware, Kerala also has a publication dedicated to the tuner culture. Quarter Mile magazine. I believe it was one of the first such publications dedicated to serve enthusiasts in the country.

Great job brother!!!!
I am from Kerala and I am proud of it
It's all about family😂
Its not only about money. We can see high end vehicles being bought in other states too but in Kerala we are keen in keeping the vehicles in good condition whether a mod or stock. Also mods are done after a lot of research and by the size of the pocket.
Edit: you can see not only mods but there are a lot of enthusiasts who proudly owns vintage and collectibles who actually uses the vehicle and not as a showpiece.
Nice work ,u earned my respect (sub)👍
You make very nice videos! Greetings from Silesia (the place that the video from 4:52 is from) :))))
When I visit Kerala really there state are well maintained and high literacy
Kerala's one of the best Vcross custom made by Abin Babs.. Rich kid with rich taste in vehicle modifications and custom made parts. MVD charged 45K on VCross and he restored back to factory spec, but his come back was legendary. MVD realized they messed with a wrong person. All his vehicles are gems. Abin and his Monster Vcross still lives in our hearts.

This culture should be promoted as it can generate and support a whole new industry providing employment, no other country has such strict laws be it US or some European country. There are so many car enthusiasts out there in India 🇮🇳 who can even represent India on international level.
You're explanation and presentation is very good brother.
Well.. Kerala inspired me with their mods. Legendary stuff
