Beautifully said 🤗
I am a teacher of 19 years, and I can tell you that bonding and getting your students trust is very important. You can teach until you are blue in the face. A child has to want to learn, and by doing this is by having some fun and forming good relationships with each of them.
How are you a teacher at 19?
Wow I'm stupid
Nobody cares what you know until they know that you care!
@@callixvision6481 I think she meant she's been teaching for 19 years.
tip: keep a box of tissues in your desk so that you can cry during your prep and lunch.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
extremely agree !
Hahahahaha
LMAO
Why would you cry?😂
I find that if the teachers connect with the students, joking around a little bit, it helps. The teacher shouldn't be seen as just a teacher, but also a friend and helper. I'm in middle school currently, and my English and Science teachers have teacher Instagrams. Really fun.
Caroline Meade 8
What goes on the teacher instagrams? link?
@@caseyevans6771 its just instagram but only focused on your career as a teacher
The more you teach, te better you get
stephyjul nope. My teacher taught for bout 50 years and she was still terrible. Raised her voice all the time, didn’t help us, gave us worksheets (and no lesson), and even insulted some of us ✌️😗
I just started my first semester and I'm already overwhelmed. But I'm excited about the future. I'm definitely taking note. I'm glad... I get a chance to grow because I'm all over the place right now.
The thing that I will keep in my head is "teach the standards to your best ability" and that's the best we can do. Trying not to be overwhelmed with my own expectations, but focusing on the standards the best I can... Thanks!
This was a perfect list! As a veteran teacher I am asked this question often. Now I can simply share this link with them. :) I love the reminder to simply choose one area. As a teacher in a new grade I sometimes forget this important idea. Great video!
I am twelve and I want like to be a teacher like you and your videos inspire me a lot. You don't know how helpful you are to so many people. I love you and your videos so much! Thank you.
+Kirsten Allen -Aww. Thank you so much!
This is a great dream you have, young lady. What I like so much about it is that it is very realistic and very achievable. Don't let anyone detract you from it.
Before you graduate, you will encounter good teachers and bad teachers. Learn from both. Learn how to BE from the good ones and how NOT TO BE from the bad ones. And never let the bad ones sour your dream.
In the meantime, keep a clean record. Any bad deeds could ruin that dream for you.. Keep a good heart and always love children. I'm not a teacher yet, but as soon as I get my own opportunity, I plan to be one of the best. And you should too. God bless you! And Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm 13 and i want to be a teacher too! I am struggling vocalizing my dream though as I am scared that people are going to say I cant do it. I do really have an itch to do it though and I want to reflect on the amazing and not so amazing teachers I have now and how they make me feel and help me with the things i am struggling with. That way i can be an amazing teacher later in life. I have so many inspirational teachers in my life now and online to help me on my journey though!
@@mylesblanton77 you're going to be an amazing teacher! ♡♡♡♡♡♡

Amazing tips...I am only in my 1st year of school but I'm trying to soak up any and every piece of advice that comes my way...I'm very blessed to attend a church that has a lot of teachers and administrators that give me advice as well...thank u for this vid😊
I’m just about to finish my last semester of courses, and the anxiety has kicked in! I’m seriously doubting my emotional strength to be able to succeed as a teacher 😂
You’ve got this ❤️
How are you doing now? I have just started teaching (history) and I’m still very anxious the night before, to the point I cannot fall asleep for hours and hours. Did you have this too?
@@lisa-marie_9993 I am 1.5 years in and I love it! I get a little nervous (probably before about 50% of my lessons), but it’s no where near as extreme.
Honestly, it’s hard at first but once I got over the learning curve and got used to the hours it has been great. Couldn’t see myself doing anything else
@@lisa-marie_9993 I’m a high school maths teacher for reference
@@annawilliams7568 Thank you for responding, that’s great to hear! I teach high school too. It’s great that I can teach the subject I love myself but I’m still worried that the 14-18 year old kids will overpower me. I’m quite introverted (but not shy) so sometimes it’s tiring. However I really love doing it! How many hours per week so you have?
Hi! I'm going into my 1st year of Teaching (2nd Grade!), and this video was so refreshing, and full of pointers! I think that we teachers all do excellent jobs of teaching Growth Mindset to our kids, but sometimes forget that even we teachers can use it! I'm just going to do the absolute best I can, and keep on learning & being better with every day!
I am so so soooo happy that I came across this channel! I'm going to be a kindergarten teacher soon! And can not wait!🎉🎉 thank you SO much for all of the tips!💕
I'm so happy for this because soon I want to become a teacher

Hello! I am from Brazil and on this Saturday I am going to start my first teaching English class I am going to be a teacher.
So, how was your first class?!
And what's now?
I've started a RUclips channel for new teachers, and even though I've been teaching for so long, some of these things I've forgotten. lol. Thanks so much for the reminder. So cool.
OMG wow great video! I just started my first teaching job as an elementary school Spanish Teacher so thanks a million for this!!!!!
I really enjoyed this video. I am a first year teacher and i had alot going on in my head . my favorite tip is the one about turn the teacher mind off. The first 3 months in school i used to work even on Sundays . recently I realized this should stop and I feel more relaxed and ready to start my school day
Really great advice! I love how you incorporate the ways to mange stress and your personal life. New to RUclips. Very inspirational!
Thanks, the tips that I related too was to stay in a positive mood and to focus on one thing at a time
Thank you very much! I needed this. I just started as a 2nd grade teacher and I am indeed overwhelmed, I will apply those tips.
Love this! Thank you for the advice 🙌🏽 I really needed this!
I'm a Chinese teacher from Hong Kong. Please forgive my poor English. I want to say thank you to you! Your videos are really encouraging and useful! I have been starting teaching for a year. was a really stressful year. After watching your videos, i gain confidence and i believe i could do better this coming year. Please share more tips!
Aww...Thank you so much! Great to hear from you!
Your English is perfect ❣️
susan yung Your English Is Great 💖
I was in Hong Kong in 1989 with the Marine Corps. I even saw Michael Hutchence (of the rock band INXS) at a bar in Kowloon. Hong Kong was a very fun place. Welcome to America! If you ever go back to Hong Kong, please take me and my wife with you! :D LOL
Thank you so much for this video! I am a first year teacher, well, a 6month teacher who started in January teaching 2nd grade :)
I really felt like tip #1 hit home, because i find myself trying to get better at all aspects of the teaching profession. I must say I have put on the brakes and like you I feel like small group is one thing that is the most important to get better at and even though I have been saying it I have been trying to get better at other multiple things such as stations, decorating my room, and etc. I am definitely stopping and focusing on small groups over the summer and the new year to come. Thanks again!
Diana Lopez keep in mind that you get another chance every year to start over. It takes a few year to really get the hang of it. That's doesn't mean the first couple of years can't be wonderful, but be patient with yourself. You'll get better faster than you think. I started a RUclips channel last year and it's been fun to look back and see how much I've grown. 😀
This is amazing. I have stayed home for six years. We did not have many of these amazing blogs for help back when I began teaching...I wish! I am very overwhelmed to go back to this social media driven teacher world 😮
Thank you so much for your tips. I am a first time teacher. This is a big adjustment for me because I was an Admin Bookkeeper before and I used to talk to papers, but now handling bunch of students. All the tips are great and useful. I can really relate to it.
Will be a teacher in a couple of short years! Feel like I need to write out a note saying "be that well-oiled machine"
This was so helpful and so motivating for me. Preparing and trying not to feel overwhelmed to start teaching for the first time is very difficult. But its little moments like stumbling across a helpful video that remind me that Im going to be okay. So thank you!
Hi!! I'm starting out as a teacher and really appreciated these tips!! :D big hugs and thank you!!
Thanks for these tips! I’m currently in college studying to be a high school English teacher and can’t wait to get into the classroom!
Fantastic thank you!
I just got hired at a primary school in Mongolia teaching health and physical education.
Your video was extremely uplifting and helpful.
I have only taught kindergarten in the past but I'm looking forward to this next move up.
You video was super helpful, especially the idea with the buckets for organization!
Getting so many ideas now, thank you!
I am going to my test teaching during the following week to start my training year. Thanks for the tips.
Thank you so much for those super 10 tips.... As a student teacher I will apply some of these tips to help me organise my class and my lesson...
I will definitely be watching more of you, dear! I just had this idea of helping new teachers by doing youtube videos and I had no idea until today that you were out here doing this. WAY TO GO, and wish me luck as I follow in your steps. Kudos to you!!
Yay!! It is a lot of work, but very rewarding! I often get comments about how I inspire viewers, but it truly works both ways! Have fun with it and Good Luck!!
Thank you for the tips:) Great for new substitute teachers as well.
Im currently going back to school to become an early childhood educator and I LOVE watching all of your videos! I feel so passionately about becoming a teacher and Im so glad that you are a resource to help me! Im not sure if you have ever considered making a video for us on how you started your journey to become a teacher and the ups and downs of school and starting as a first time teacher for you. I know that I could benefit from hearing other's experiences on their journey to become a teacher! Thank you for your videos!
Hi. I am starting channel soon too. What specifically are you looking for when you say "the ups and downs of school?"

Thank you!!!! Just what I needed to hear! 💕
This video is full of very helpful content and encouragement. Thanks!
Yes I highly agree with the point about the teachers on social media;) I am a new teacher and oftentimes I see those teachers on Instagram and it makes me sometimes feel down 😀
I enjoy watching you, I am now a 1st year college student from Philippines and taking elementary education. I learned a lot from you. Thank you!
I used to like watching "back to school" or " study tips" for school when I was a student, but now I don't even have time for t now that I am a teacher.
Teaching over the years has taught me to always balance my classes by making them challenging and yet fun. Classroom management is always a tough one because I don’t enjoy disciplining students. But sometimes just talking to them one on one or calling Home can do wonders
Enthusiasm is contaminating. Students get enthusiastic about the class if the teacher shows enthusiasm. Thanks very much for this great video!
Im 15 years old and I go to a vocational technical highscool (i think thats what it is) and my "shop" is early education, so basically every other week im a preschool teacher. This was pretty helpful and I really enjoy your videos. ^w^ Hopefully with your advise and with all this experience I can be a great teacher.
Thank you so much for posting this!! I am working as a long-term substitute in my first teaching job outside a childcare. I have been feeling so overwhelmed, but this video seriously helped!! :)
YAY! So glad that it was able to help you and hopefully relieve some nerves. 😉
You have no idea of how much you help me. I'm going to my second year of teaching here in Brazil and It's been very challenging. But I did it!!! :D
Good advice. Too many new teachers become overwhelmed and as a consequence, lose focus. This can happen quite frequently in the UK. We are losing too many good teachers!
Great, great tips! Thank you.
you are God sent!!!! I had my first teaching practice yesterday and I soooo needed this!!!
+Alessia Micallef Wow! that is great. How did it go?
Went pretty well considering it was my 1st day! Thanks a lot for the tips as they really help me and others like me :)
I really hope that these tips help me tomorrow as they helped you by the way. Wish me a good luck and I just subscribed to your channel by the way I hope that you subscribe to my channel too :)
Thank you for your tips! They're very helpful. :)
Have you heard of the Responsive Classroom? I am on my last year of college I am getting my BA in Early Childhood, during one of my observations of a kindergarten room I was so impressed with the teacher and the way her classroom flowed. She shared some books that is a part of the Responsive Classroom and I have been buying their books for the past year (I have like 5 of them but have only finished one). Love your videos!!
I am changing careers in mid life and just completed my Masters in Special Ed. I will be teaching 1st grade this coming August and I will be working on your tip #1, especially small group. I find your video's inspiring and motivating. I too am getting overwhelmed about what I should invest in for my classroom a video would be very helpful. Good luck at your new job in PA, your will love the East as there is so much to do and learn. I am originally from NYC and the amount of opportunities that will be available to you in PA will make your grow even more
Thank you so much! My family and I are very excited about going to PA! I love the idea of having so much history around me. Best of luck to you.
Thank you for the tips and encouragement, ma'am. I'm an older gentleman who has decided to reinvent myself late in life to become an English teacher. I also happen to be a self-published writer with a dream of teaching Creative Writing later down the road. Keep up the great work. And ignore the negative comments I've seen here within. People who discourage others are never worth the time and attention. If you don't have anything kind to say, please keep your mouth shut.
love your videos so much!!!! Those tips are just so useful! I am going to start my placement next week which is so exciting, yet I feel not prepared for it. Your video definitely has helped me lots!
+anita li Excellent and Good Luck! Let us know how it goes.
This is my first year teaching in the troops to teachers program. your video has been very helpful. Thanks for the tips.
It is really helpful for me! As a new teacher in language lessons school, I need to teach children and keens of different ages. I have lots of to improve.
These are some great tips. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much. will be introducing a few student teachers to your channel on 29 June 2022.
I know you will continue to inspire them too.
I just got hired for a 1 year leave as a 6th grade science teacher and Special ed co-teacher in a city school. I've subbed in the suburbs for 6 years already in all grade levels, and have done pretty much everything. This year I won't have my own classroom so I'll be kinda everywhere. I'm a bit nervous but considering I've had so much experience already, I'm thinking it'll come to my advantage. I just hope i do well and I know it'll be a learning process, but it's definitely going to be a change from what I've been doing already.
Thanks for sharing the tips!! 😊
ok you have just earned a new fan, me ! LOL . Your teaching is so awesome . Thank you Rebecca.
Aww! Thank you so much! Glad you have you!
This is the 9th month of my First Year as a High School Teacher and I actually sort of teared up watching this vid because it's really like really true. It's indeed a struggle! It's survival. It's always a TEST, your skills, your competence, your effort so you push yourself to the best of your abilities everyday, your confidence, your strength as a person. The pressure is on to prove yourself to your kids whom you really care about and love and to the admins who will smile at you on your first week and after that ignores you on the hallway and you go thinking am I awful on observations? am I stupid? It's a lot to take in. I was super stressed. I'm crying a lot, I'm crying so much because I feel really bad on most days. It's failure left and right It's so hard to pick up yourself. But you know what, I am a teacher, everything is a process. I'm going to be better, I'm going to improve, MY SECOND YEAR WILL BE DIFFERENT BECAUSE MY FIRST YEAR EXPERIENCE MOLDED ME TO BE BETTER. Just patience, grit, intelligence and trust, we will get there. I swear!
Love this!! Thank you so much Bridget for posting!!
+MissCourtneyJ you are very welcome. Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for this video!

@@Montano76 i work in an urban environment with an interesting dynamic that performs outside the scope of a typical classroom, i have to build culturally inclusive lessons into my activities which is an afro-centric lens to fit the perspective and needs of my students.
@@Montano76 if i worked in the suburbs i think i would have alot less anxiety and would create different activities within my planning that might resonate differently. Its hard to teach a class of 25 kids when only 6 show up. Or when the kids dont try at all because the school lost its accreditation; meaning the students dont receive a diploma or GED at the end.
I am starting my first job in August teaching 5th grade!! Thanks for the tips!!!

I'm grateful, hearing your explanation in tip number 10 ❤
I'm motivated😌
this was so helpful and motivating, thank you.
Thanks really inspiring
Thanks a lot, its really helpful
ya i agree its easier to be-able to do all the stuff but when you actually get in front of the class room . It all changes so what i am trying to figure is the optimal gradual way to acquire the skills without actually being in front of the classroom to easy the transition when you actually get infront of an audience. Behavior management is a must for lower level its more important at that stage of teaching then pure knowledge.
OMG Mrs.Spackman I don't know if you remember me from your kindergarten class, but I am Amanda Sepulveda from your 2015-2016 class!
