I am a teacher of 19 years, and I can tell you that bonding and getting your students trust is very important. You can teach until you are blue in the face. A child has to want to learn, and by doing this is by having some fun and forming good relationships with each of them.

I find that if the teachers connect with the students, joking around a little bit, it helps. The teacher shouldn't be seen as just a teacher, but also a friend and helper. I'm in middle school currently, and my English and Science teachers have teacher Instagrams. Really fun.

This is a great dream you have, young lady. What I like so much about it is that it is very realistic and very achievable. Don't let anyone detract you from it.
Before you graduate, you will encounter good teachers and bad teachers. Learn from both. Learn how to BE from the good ones and how NOT TO BE from the bad ones. And never let the bad ones sour your dream.
In the meantime, keep a clean record. Any bad deeds could ruin that dream for you.. Keep a good heart and always love children. I'm not a teacher yet, but as soon as I get my own opportunity, I plan to be one of the best. And you should too. God bless you! And Happy Thanksgiving!

I must say I have put on the brakes and like you I feel like small group is one thing that is the most important to get better at and even though I have been saying it I have been trying to get better at other multiple things such as stations, decorating my room, and etc. I am definitely stopping and focusing on small groups over the summer and the new year to come. Diana Lopez keep in mind that you get another chance every year to start over. It takes a few year to really get the hang of it. That's doesn't mean the first couple of years can't be wonderful, but be patient with yourself. You'll get better faster than you think. I started a RUclips channel last year and it's been fun to look back and see how much I've grown. 😀

This is the 9th month of my First Year as a High School Teacher and I actually sort of teared up watching this vid because it's really like really true. It's indeed a struggle! It's survival. It's always a TEST, your skills, your competence, your effort so you push yourself to the best of your abilities everyday, your confidence, your strength as a person. The pressure is on to prove yourself to your kids whom you really care about and love and to the admins who will smile at you on your first week and after that ignores you on the hallway and you go thinking am I awful on observations? am I stupid? It's a lot to take in. I was super stressed. I'm crying a lot, I'm crying so much because I feel really bad on most days. It's failure left and right It's so hard to pick up yourself. But you know what, I am a teacher, everything is a process. I'm going to be better, I'm going to improve, MY SECOND YEAR WILL BE DIFFERENT BECAUSE MY FIRST YEAR EXPERIENCE MOLDED ME TO BE BETTER. Just patience, grit, intelligence and trust, we will get there. I swear!

LOVE your channel 😃 I'm about to finish my first year of college. My son started PreK this fall and I decided to go to college after being out of school for 12 years and fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming an Elementary Teacher 😃 I have a long way to go, but I'm excited. Love your videos- great tips and ideas and love your enthusiasm. Keep making vids ☺️

@@Montano76 if i worked in the suburbs i think i would have alot less anxiety and would create different activities within my planning that might resonate differently. Its hard to teach a class of 25 kids when only 6 show up. Or when the kids dont try at all because the school lost its accreditation; meaning the students dont receive a diploma or GED at the end.

ya i agree its easier to be-able to do all the stuff but when you actually get in front of the class room . It all changes so what i am trying to figure is the optimal gradual way to acquire the skills without actually being in front of the classroom to easy the transition when you actually get infront of an audience. Behavior management is a must for lower level its more important at that stage of teaching then pure knowledge.
