Here in California, burglary is basically legal. CA passed prop 47 which makes taking something of < $1,000 value, an infraction... the police won't do anything about it. The wealthy hire private police and others don't get that level of protection.

True story, when i was 15 i had a car load of Maoris come at me with their hands in their pockets saying they're gonna stab me and telling me to give them my push bike. Being much lighter and agile than them i legged it with the bike, jumped on it and rode off. Now the road i needed to take to get back home was between two roundabouts about 200m long, and they kept driving between the two for about 15 mins. So I went to a near by school and called the cops explaining what happened. I shit you not 1 and a half hours later no cops, the guys left, so i went home. Told my old man what happened and he was fuming, we got in the car and went to the cop shop. You know what they said? "Your son said he didn't see the knife so it wasn't a life or death situation". No word of a lie, or any exaggeration. My old man lost his shit nearly got arrested himself.

Another great find by automatrics I also use a automatrics tracker but as with any bike or anything you want to secure you need multiple layers of security definitely a bike of this value I would suggest investing in some security products it's worth looking at pragmasis security for bikes they do some outstanding chains and locks not the usual rubbish you see on the street also with your bike you can use something called an anti pinch pin which goes through the rear wheel and swingarm to ground anchor this is from pragmasis the owner is Steve another family run business very helpful just like Richard for mtrack. glad to see you got your bike back.

Someone smart enough to go through all the effort of peeling the garage door apart, removing the battery and parking it in a random place miles away is going to wear gloves and a face mask when they rob it... burglary 101.
These people are smart at stealing stuff. When they rob a car or bike, they will strip the interior to see if it has a tracker. If they fail to find one it goes into a "cool off" period where it gets parked in a random place and left for a few days or weeks. If no one comes for it, they have their reward.
The best thing to do would be a stakeout and catch them when they return for it, but we know the police ain't going to do that.
