Merry Christmas Adin! For the Mini, you can dye the TPU shell quite easily. Take a disposable metal pan, cover the bottom with dish soap, but 1/2 of black Rit Dye for synthetic material and pour about 2 liters of boiling water. Then put the shell in for about 15 mins and voilà! BTW synthetic dye is important and you can probably use less dye but I wanted mine solid black.
Dude this is awesome! Thank you for this. I ordered a 5 with clear black back, case, screen protector and new buttons. I couldn’t find anything on how to do the buttons or what the back plate would look like.
I did a full front shell / screen replacement on the mini. It’s not that bad but you need to have a heat gun because some components are stuck on with adhesive, most notably any of the micro switches on the edge of the case and a ribbon cable that runs under the battery.
Unfortunately, the last OTA update for the Retroid Pocket Mini bricked my device. I'm currently in the process of emailing Retroid. Seems like they finally want me to send in my device for repair after a little bit of back and forth with them. I'm hoping they send me a shipping label or something. Really unfortunate 😢
luckily for my black rp5 i order the ice blue backplate, hopefully will arrived before new year, currently in transit in china but for the protector shell why they didn’t make other colours, should have make more colours choice not just white
I used to be a steel snob, to the point of going to school in a related field. Now I don't care about steel, given how thick and wedge like most folder blades are and how little the get used by the average person
@1fareast14 Come on bro. Helpe out here. Let's educate this fella. Bring out your old steel snobbery!! All kidding aside, steel matters more when you are not hardcore into knives. My first two real good knives had XHP and S30V. But because I was only using those two knives everything, they would dull fast and I would be constantly sharpening. But own more knives than underwear, I rotate between them a lot. So at this point, yes I agree steel don't matter. If you just one have or two tho, it is nice to have a super steel. Its more work to pull out all the sharpening gear and setting it up than the sharpening process itself.

Use the white foam cutout that came in the box so you can place device on it

I’ve been waiting for this video! Happy holidays!
Finally someone did this video!!! Thank you
3:09 I also got the smoky black, given the already black internals, not even the clear back would give the effect I was expecting
Nah, that's beautiful! Worth every minute!
Ah thanks man

I think it's great that they offer different colours!
There is no black protector shell for the Mini
All that effort, and the classic Red/Maroon buttons look like garbage against the black finish lmao.
Merry Christmas! You need to upgrade your knife game bro! Kershaw with 8CRMOV won't cut it anymore in 2025! Pun totally intended!

Meh. I'm still using a 1984 air force issue camillus knife. Why change what isn't broken?!?!? 😊
@RCCRAWL-q7g I guess you could also only be playing Atari 2600 too lol
And where is DIY? you just put manufactured simplies things on your console...
